Fellow vanette enthusiasts, I've been reading the threads here and they've been really helpful. I just got a 96 vanette last June (white) and for some reason, I've been hooked on bringing this baby spring to life. So far, there have been no problems with overheating and what not. The van's been in great condition. Decided to bring it to Nissan North Edsa for a general check up and it ran even better afterwards (although it was a 4 day operation). I've modified a few things already (steering wheel, shift knob, magwheels and HIDs) and would like to make this a great weekend car.

It would be good to exchange notes with fellow enthusiasts in maintaining and modifying the van. CVT, I'm from Pasig and will be willing to drive down south should the schedule for the meet-up permit. I hope this community moves forward.

Yes bro cvt, maroon candy siya na nga yun. Hope she's okey after a week of confinement. really really hoping na okey na siya, they replaced some parts with carb kit, saka yung fuel jet. still need to test drive it. but what if... sana okey na talaga. anyways dumadami na tayo.

naghalo lang ako ng preston pero yung filtered water okey na yun. coolant helps in increasing the boiling point pero i think no need na kung naconvert na tapos naka 3rows ka pa. it will just help sa cleaning part siguro.

sa pagkakaalam ko pangit daw gumamit ng coolant. . . mas ok pa ung distilled water which is 70 to 80 pesos 6000ml na. . . iwas kalawang at wala pang chemical. . . dati kasi coolant din gamit ko. . . recommend nung mechanic nung nagpachange-oil sabi ko drain na din ung radiator para palitan ng bagong coolant, ang sabi nya mas ok daw ung distilled water. . . so far ok naman. . . walang kalawang ung radiator ko. . . . just sharing lang po kung ano ung nasubukan ko na. . .

QUESTION TO ALL:
does anyone know kung magkano at saan pwede mag canvass ng LD20 diesel engine? ang sabi kasi this is one of the engine na pwede ilagay sa vanette natin. . . no modification needed bolt-on na daw pati mga brackets. . . is it true? TIA

Additional P500 lang naman. Di ko lang gusto yung LPG tank at kailangan ilagay sa loob ng van. Meron silang model na ilalagay sa spare tire carrier na mas gusto ko pero malamang additional cost na naman ito...Isip-isip muna ako altho yung P16,000 mukhang okay na. 1yr warranty pa raw sa parts and labor. FYI mga sirs.

Mine was converted sa Mla Auto Gas along C-5 Pasig.Tank is cylindrical and placed at the back inside but filler is outside bet bumper and rt rear tire.I removed the third row seat and move forward the rear seat.It can still seat 7-8 persons. Para sa akin overloaded na kapag 10 or more persons sakay ng vanette kaya hirap humila lalo na paakyat. Its made in Turkey.

kaya gusto ko pakita sa lolo ko na gumanda ang takbo ng van namin

usually high mileage engine (like mine-300K+ km na) use thicker oil. i use 20w-50..any brand pwede..sakin i use castrol gtx, madali hanapin kahit saan meron.. change ako every year lang kahit pano nagamit van (minsan trips to home province bicol...trips to tarlac..or trips to cagayan valley...gamit sa work..minsan iwan dahil sa mahal ng gas..). sa oil filter.. kahit ano brand basta DC-207 na size..ako gamit ko gawa ng DAI-WA...madali hanapin dito sa mga auto supply dito sa amin. sa spark plug gamit ko original na NGK kasi meron daw immitation pero di ko pa alam kung pano malalaman e..mas mahal konti yung orig. part number gamit ko is BP6ES lang. basta walang oil leak at properly tuned ang carb mo tatagal ang plugs..hope this help..kayang kaya mo yan..madali lang gawin.
