Anybody here with the V8 patrol super safari?

Whats the fuel consumption of the V8 super safari?

Would the gas version, with its higher horsepower and torque, perform significantly more superior than the diesel version in terms of speed, acceleration, and smoothness?

Would the resale value of the gas version super safari be much lower than the diesel version?

Is there a V8 Super Safari? I think the TB48 engine is an inline-6 gas engine. See related topic below:

Naglalaro ako between 1st and 2nd gear. Pag nasa 1st gear, sobrang bagal so I shift to 2nd gear, bigla naman mabibitin kaya balik 1st gear ulit Si Alfred yata ang nasa likod ko nun.

Ako nga...hehehe. A 3.0li patrol without the turbo kicking in is..well...just a 3.0li N/A engine. Naka 4.2 kami kaya kayang kaya...hehehe. Normal lang yun going up in D then you feel parang bitin ka in 2nd gear, that's the high torque of the engine working for you at low rpm. You want to go up faster downshift to D1.

I think it's just normal. I've owned a GU Patrol for 6 years and its been like that (hissing turbo) since brand new.

Have gone to Nissan UMC, Pasong Tamo branch last week for the 50k PMS. The guys there did wonders to my Troll... Have noticed a much silent engine and some minor kalampags gone. Probably due to the tightening of some suspension parts.

They found out though that my wheel bearings nearing failure as they found burnt marks on the rings. This was a result of the wheel bearings not being lubricated when I had my 40K PMS at Nissan Shaw. According to the UMC guy, the lubrication was part of the 40k PMS checklist.

Anyway, they quoted me for 11K PHP for each wheel bearing which put me into shock Since I wasn't prepared to part with 22k, I asked the service advisor to just lubricate them and will just go back when I have the money.

After my conversation with the service advisor, I immediately called up Nissan Parts Banawe. They quoted me 450 or 950 php (depending if it's rear or front) per piece, which put me into shock again because of the big price difference. The person on the other line said that these are replacement bearings but it's the same manufacturer (Koyo) that supplies bearings to Nissan. I'm planning, probably at the 55k PMS (outside of casa), to use these Koyo bearings. Any feedback for those who have tried these out? TIA

Koyo Bearings is indeed OE for some manufacturers. I did the same when i changed the bearings on our old Toyota before... exactly the same part as the one in the CASA, different price.

I learned a lot in this forum. Please help me with this. I want to make the ride of my Patrol more comfortable. I already replaced the front shocks with Bilsteins, the rear are still stocks because I cannot find Bilsteins for the rear, out of stocks in speedlab. I was thinking of replacing the coil springs with a softer one to improve the ride, is this a right move? Do you know of any available aftermarket springs that would soften the ride of a Patrol? Where is it available? Thanks and more power.

After our MAF sensor--Rapide problem I posted earlier, all's well with our patrol, but then disaster struck 3 weeks ago. Our patrol suddenly stopped and it gave us no chose but to tow it, since the engine wont start anymore. Diagnosis using CONSULT-II showed a "P6 Spill Valve" result. Further Google showed that it is related to the injection pump. We'll be bring the unit to UMC Pasong Tamo after the holy week for further diagnosis and for its eventual repair.

Has anyone of you experience this problem?
Has anyone here replaced their injection pump?
Is there any place I can bring our Patrol to "repair" the injection pump, or is it really due for replacement?
To those who have replace/repaired their injection pumps, can you please give me a rough estimate as to how much it would cost us?

    TIA
