I saw a Toyota Hilux in La Union (during a quick family getaway) with a Pace Edwards retractable bed cover- looks neater versus the one offered by Carryboy! Also a White Strada 2.5 GLS from Manila has the silver body cladding and fastback like canopy- too bad i didnt have my camera with me! The strada with the accessories and Pace Edwards canopy are head turners for me. I hope to get my strada soon. anybody knows more details about them? thanks.

    Fuel consumption observed during tests:

    Mitsubishi Triton 3.2L- 10.4L/100km
    Ford Ranger 3.0L - 10.4L/100km
    Toyota Hilux 3.0L - 8.5L/100km
    Holden Rodeo/Isuzu Dmax - 8.4L/100km

But, yes, it really depends on driving style. My Innova can range between 7--11km/li (gas).
    Thanks.
not to disagree with these figures but i have always thought that isuzu d-max delivers the most economical engine. strada with its 3.2 liter engine apparently ito pala ang pinakamatipid sa lahat.

But I don't agree that the H/T tires the strada particularly has (bridgestone dueler H/T 840), have more hydroplaning resistance than bridgestone dueler A/T tires. That's based on my experience too. I can drive with more confidence on wet roads now. Besides, a strada 4x4 would look much better with A/T or even M/T tires, IMHO.

    H/T A/T

My own rule of thumb on wet roads (not flooded). If the rain is really pouring, I don't go beyond 80kph.
based on the pictures, i do agree that the A/T tires will have more resistance because the space/gap between treads is bigger versus the H/T - masyadong acute so there is lesser chances for water to seep within the threads. as earlier mentioned on this tread, the A/T tread resembles like the Goodyear aquatred- except that it doesnt have the main aqua channel. Yes, make mine still with the same size with white embosed letters for my Strada!

    Sir,
    Where is Pace Edwards avaliable?
I'm concerned din that you have to drill the bed to attach the sportlid, wouldnt that void the warranty?

Sir Drave - How much would the A/T tire cost? I bought the same tire when I was in Oman for my 99' Grand Cherokee and it set me back for 6,000 pesos a piece.

    Hi Guys,

I'm planning to buy a new Pick-up next year. do you highly recommend Strada over the New Isuzu global Dmax. I prefer 4x2 pick-up. Need you feedback please.....

    DonT,

Parehas pa rin, if you want the bridgestone A/T 265/70R16. But the '99 model had a different tread pattern. The new one came out in '04. I got mine in evangelista and traded-in the stock tires for 8k, so I had to shell out only 16k. I guess good deal na ito considering that it's a performance as well as safety upgrade.

There are other brands that you can consider, also with good reviews. But I will stick with the bridgestones for the meantime.

i wish i knew where to get the product- paging fellow tsikoteers... i'm not aware on how the rollers and rails are attached. piercing the bed is what they do likely- they must have placed a good rustproffing solution for that... just thinking aloud...

afaik RIDE Banawe is the exclusive distributor of Pace Edwards rollers. but as a fellow member posted a few pages back, mukhang wala pang available for the Strada.

IMHO, Bridgestone Dueler AT 275/70/16 bagay sa strada, it's wider compared to the 245/70/16 stock Bridgestone Dueler HT 245/70/16 tires of the strada.

I like the ralliart rims sa strada, ganda ganda ganda, hirap linisin niyan dami singit singit, akin nalang para di ka mahirapan

Ent_Md's post indeed says that the D-max is the most economical having a fuel consumption of 8.4 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. That's 11.9km/l. Next na pinakamatipid according to Ent_Md's post is the 3.0 Hilux (11.76km/l), then the 2.5 Navarra (10.20km/l). The 3.2 Triton/Strada and the 3.0 Ranger are the least economical having a FC of 9.62km/l.
