eto yung formula na nakita ko sa thread about the Kenneth Quintal Incident sa Skyway last year... it will help us how to find the ideal speed kung kelan maghahydroplane mga auto natin...To determine the ideal speed, the formula is nine times the square root of the tire’s PSI in miles per hour. Say your tires are inflated to 32PSI. The square root would be 5.66. Multiply that by nine. You would aquaplane at 50.4mph. Or 80.64 km/h
Mr. Big
how exactly do you mean by hirap ka sa visibility ng strada while driving at night? baka naman masyado kang mababa sa upuan, ano ba height mo pare? no offense pero kung di ka katangkaran maglagay ka ng unan or cushion para umangat ka, and i think it would help.
I'm just a 5'8 guy, not quite tall but thats not my concern.. no offense at all...
Driving * nite is very very easy without rain, the seat has its own height adjustment, so it doesnt matter if either your small or not.
The problem is, when i hit some waters, it goes directly to my winshield and that causes me to have a zero visibility for a while * nite driving. Well, maybe i need to put some rainX on my windshield to help me improve my visibility when raining.
Actually the 3.2 comes with seat height adjusters on the driver seat. maybe naman nismo is having visibility problems due to the tint that he has installed (based on the pics medyo dark yata) i would recommend changing the front and rear to 3m light neutral which is way better in terms of visibility. hydroplaning naman is inherent to all vehicles with wider tires installed of course tread patterns are key to the tires wet performance.
Kung stock dueler H/T tires, madaling mag-hydroplane yan. Just take a look at the review in tirerack website. My first mod was I changed my tires to Bridgestone dueler A/T revo. More hydroplaning resistance and better grip on unpaved or even paved roads. Kaya palit na kayo ng tires![]()
i need some help and advice...
the new tires of 3.2 strada is kinda slippery when running on a wet road * 140kph
I think i must change tires and mags too but not now!
Bout the hydroplaning i've encountered
I'm with my bro that time but he's ahead of me coz he's driving his XLR
Then he told me that the water is above the knee
I think theres no reason why i hydroplaned.
For the gurus here....
Does the strada have the Limited Slip Differential (LSD)
Do i need it?
Your 3.2L Strada is equipped with an LSD.
Even the Lancer Evolution would slip at 140 kph on hard corners in dry land. :hihihi:the new tires of 3.2 strada is kinda slippery when running on a wet road * 140kph
I heard an information from National Geographic once, they said, tires would slip at more than 60 kph.![]()

Gandang araw sa inyo. Baguhan lang po.
I was planning to get the Strada 3.2L MT this coming Jan-Feb 2008. After reading this thread, gusto ko na kunin agad next month. I'm thinking about getting the black vs titanium(?) gray... Any word about fuel consumption between 2.5 and 3.2?

Mitsubishi should put more money in their suspension, engine and off-road performance etc. if they are going to introduce it to the US market. Since the old Montero Sport had a really bad reputation for roll-overs.
Engine - Why? Because many Mitsubishi owners complained about the top speed of their Mitsubishi Montero and Montero Sport. This is very important in highway driving.
Suspension/Anti-Rollbars - Why? For a better ride and comfort with the ability to roll is eliminated.
Off-road ability - I notice that more Montero Sport users use their Monty a lot and they modify them more than the Pajero/Montero. Mitsubishi should not make a compromise about the old Monty Sport's reputation in off-road ability. It should improve, with hell a lot of improvements.
Etc. - Better interior quality and more gadgets installed!![]()

Based on the owner's posts on the different threads here. There seems to be around 2 to 3 km/l difference between the 2.5L to 3.2L. Of course, there's no clear cut answer here. Very subjective coz its based on driving style and condition.
I read also before na diesel engines tend to be more economical when it reaches the 10K to 20K mark. So since bago pa ang 3.2L, figures might improve after a few more months.![]()
a lady friend of mine who recently purchased a strada gls sport got a good deal in terms of freebies
bedliner + the usual freebies like tint, seatcovers, etc.
) plus a very light body medyo kailangan talaga light footed ka, since bago pa yung ride mo I think ok pa yung tires mo, I had a discussion before I think with sir mazda mazda about tires and hydroplaning. check this thread, HT is still better that AT pag wet roads.
http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showt...=tire+aquatred
about LSD gagana lang siya at low speeds I think 40kmh below, automatic naman siya mag engage kapag magslip ang wheels, HTH
Thanks, promdiboy! Nice read.
But I don't agree that the H/T tires the strada particularly has (bridgestone dueler H/T 840), have more hydroplaning resistance than bridgestone dueler A/T tires. That's based on my experience too. I can drive with more confidence on wet roads now. Besides, a strada 4x4 would look much better with A/T or even M/T tires, IMHO.
H/TA/T
My own rule of thumb on wet roads (not flooded). If the rain is really pouring, I don't go beyond 80kph.
Hi guys, it's my very first post here
Sir,
Kamusta na po ang sportlid nyo? Hows the quality?
I'm thinking of getting the SM (motor ) lid for my Strada
Ngulat lang ako how much it costs
I'm just worried after spending 50t on the lid , it will fly off sa highway after a few months hehe
Salamat po for any info
I got this from another forum on pick-up trucks...
Fuel consumption observed during tests:
Nissan Navara 2.5L - 9.8L/100km
Mitsubishi Triton 3.2L- 10.4L/100km
Ford Ranger 3.0L - 10.4L/100km
Toyota Hilux 3.0L - 8.5L/100km
Holden Rodeo/Isuzu Dmax - 8.4L/100km
But, yes, it really depends on driving style. My Innova can range between 7--11km/li (gas).
Thanks.
tnx sa advice... it helps me a lot
medyo naninibago lang talaga ako sa strada ko
i must know her well pa...
for the tires... HT nga talaga ang stock tire ng strada
im using AT * my nissan neagle
kaya cguro, nagulat ako when i hit some water
Well, got to know her well pa and got to change her tires
Anyway... thanks sa lahat ng advices..
