After reading the post of sir Alainroyce, I decided to email our friends from MMPC to hear their side to this issue.

My email goes like this. "Greetings,

One quick question. It came to our concern that there is a memo floating around that MMPC mandates all 3.2 Strada GLS Sports to use synthetic oil and change it every 5K KM. If this is true, can we get a copy of this memo that you guys sent to your dealers.

    Cheers,"

    Their Answer:

    "Dear Rally,

Good afternoon. It's nice to receive mail from you once more. Regarding your inquiry. There is no cause for worries about this issue. To give clarification in all of this, we are recommending the use of fully synthetic oil for all Mitsubishi turbo-charged engines because of its tremendous benefits especially in relation to its viscosity and carbon deposits reduction more importantly, if the vehicle is still within the warranty period. However, we are not mandating this, if our customers really wanted to use other oil they can do so provided the oil conforms to the required viscosity and API ratings ( CD or higher ).

With regard to its oil change interval, ALL DI-D (Direct Injection - Diesel) Engines must change their oil every 10,000 km. when using the Mitsubishi Turbo-XP Fully synthetic oil and every 5,000 km. when using Mitsubishi oil or any other oil than the aforementioned.

I hope that the above explanation has shed light to your concerns.

    Sincerely,

    Noted by: D.M.Doctor"

XP is just semi synth... actually even barely semi!!! if your using XP cige change oil but not every 5K, do it every 7K max man lang, change the filter every 5K. Now if you're using the fully synthetic oils by motul, mobil 1, castrol, etc....it's still 10K for the oils and 5K for the filters. actually it can be even longer for the oils, depending on what the specs of the oil will be, there used to be a castrol for TDI engines that say specifically every 20K ang change oil, but importation was stopped because mahina ang benta dahil mahal siya na langis. just read the specs of the synth oil or ask the dealer or check the web site. but as for the memo saying to change oil every 5K kahit naka synth ka.... ay sus maryosep naman!!!! ginagawa na ata nila gatasan ang mga naka 3.2 ah!!! di na ata tama yun!

kidding aside, better siguro if we check it first sa respective dealers natin kung totoo ang balitang ito... baka makuryente na naman tayo sa ganyang mga 'memo', hehehehe. for the 2.5 engine, highly recommended talaga daw ang synthetic oil but NOT limited to the turbo xp... the owner may bring his own oil. gimmick lang ng dealer yan kung insist nila na turbo xp ang gamitin... and change oil every 10k km and oil filter every 5k km sa synthetic.

good news pala, bumilis na ang tsikot and nabuhay na naman ang mga strada addicts.... tigilan na kasi ang mga ersop ersop na yan! hahahahaha

OT lang... the usual mini EB for this friday shall be cancelled in lieu of Tsikot's anniversary scheduled on saturday. Club members and other strada owners are encouraged to attend this event especially the meet-and-greet the different car clubs of tsikot. Go strada go!

Sir, feeling ko lang that some dealers would invent statements or memos just to create more revenue for their branch. Or if they think they can "fool" you into their scheme, they will. It's nice to be friendly with SA's, but trust that they will really take care of you, your car, or give you honest to goodness advise is something different.

But sir, gusto ko makita yung memo na sabi mo na pinakita sa inyo...that would be a good evidence...btw, don't tell them yet that you got the answer from MMPC, let's see how they squirm from your statement.

for strada owner's meron tayo thread all about cost of PMS, do check it out from time to time. http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showt...t=49366&page=1

Yes sir G01, i will be more than happy to join you. The office has been pulling my leg with the most unusual work schedule for the past 2 months and a trip to the wilderness will be a trekking delight! thanks and i'm very greatful for that. ayusin ko lang po and aking schedule. The planning session for the Baguio Fun Run will resume by then also.

*alainroyce- i agree with sir av8or5. let them state their claim and collect any documentation from them first. lets see if how it will fare with the real verdict with information straight from the source!

*av8or5- many thanks for your assistance. it is now the job of MMPC's Mr. Doctor to align ALL the franchised dealers with this valuable information without any further delay. The issue has been settled and resolved here at the threads but lets see for what the real world has to say.

*dadz, just out of curiosity and if possible, pls post a picture of MMTh's Synthetic Motor Oil by Castrol and with the ratings. thanks very much po and I'm pretty sure our fellow BOSBs will be comparing it with the suking Turbo XP and Motul CRDi. Going to Thailand? uhm... ipon ipon muna... hehehe.

*Tancho_Kuhaku and Cebu_boy31, i'm looking forward to your meeting. pls let us know how it went. Hoping this will be the start of great things to come. i hope you can get in touch with the others there- shizen and egayski. May the Visayas tribe increase!

*jericho941- lets wait for what the others have to say. i think Fellow BOSB Bluemica can help you po kasi if i recall, ma-bling-bling ang gulong nya po. but you can read the recent posts of sir G01 since he explained his offset in comparison with the stock rims (3.2 GLS Sport) he had. i hope that helps in the meantime. thanks.

    Drive*earth Inspired.
