Hi guys, gusto ko lang i-share yung ginawa kong remedy about the sqeaking sound sa strada natin, na locate ko yung akin sa may leaf spring, so what i did is i just applied a WD-40 on it. nawala agad yung 'eeek-eek-eek' na sound. 'Di lang ako sure kung gaano katagal ito bago bumalik yung sqeaking sound. Still ipapacheck ko parin sa 1km pms for long term solution.

Ask ko lang kung ok lang po ba i-apply yung lubricant dito sa part ng strada natin? TIA.

bro, di rin tatagal yan. ang pinakamaganda jan ay ibuka mo yan clamp na binugahan mo ng wd40, like what i did with my strada. permanent remedy na ang ginawa ko....wala ng eekk eekk eekk.......ipabuka mo lang yan. those plastic spacers in between the leafspring and the clamp yan ang problema di maganda ang plastic materials na nilagay nila jan maganit ...

Coz i got a friend that has a Montero GLS SE, sa kanya around 10km/l city
driving daw. Same engine, tranny, i think heavier pa Monty nya. So how come mas maganda FC nya. Does not compute talaga.

    Thanks in advance.
A Montero 2.5 does 8.4-8.6km/L in the city cycle. That's manually computed and not based on the trip computer.

The problem with WD40 is that it dries up easily.

You need to use marine grade oil lubricant in paste form. United Bearing at Araneta Ave. sells them. I forget the brand.

Personally I would not put grease or paste on leaf springs unless the leafs are covered with a pouch. If you open the leafs; yes maybe a very thin film; if not they will then be magnet for dust and grit which will abrade the metal.
Best jack up one side and spray with WD40 or at most used engine oil mixed with diesel. Then jack up other side and repeat.

yup, di sya BOSB. i know traffic is heavy in valenzuela, especially along maysan road, which connects mcarthur hi-way and NLEX. pero di mo naman kelangan magcounterflow lalo na kung dalawang lanes lang ang kalsada. lalo lang bibigat yung traffic. talagang pagbabatuhin sya ng ibang motorista sa ginawa nyang yun.

Sir, I just had my SCV replaced last week. I also had that wong-wong sound and the strada just would not accelerate. The RPM was stuck in the 2,000rpm range.

My mileage was about 19,900kms when I encountered this problem. I actually just had my 20,000kms PMS when this problem popped up.

Before I brought the strada to the casa, I discussed the problem with the service advisor. He asked if I encountered the check engine warning but I did not. He said that it might be difficult to trace the root of the problem since it may not be detected using their computer when checking for the problem codes. Since I read about the SCV problem here, I mentioned this to him and he acknowledged that this is possible and it will not have the check engine warning. Anyway, to make a long story short, they replaced the SCV and so far I have not encountered the same problem. By the way, the SCV was replaced for free since it's still under warranty.

Just one more thing, the strada started to emit black smoke whenever I accelerate when the mileage was around 16,000kms. This problem comes and goes.

I only use Shell(Naga road, Alabang Zapote near Almanza and Macapagal).

i use caltex most of the time in soler st. manila.

im just surprised to see that some of the stradas and MS stat to show the scv problems as early as 5,000kms..r
