Hmmm.... medyo naguguluhan ako sa discussion...

    *Dadz,
    1) Yung triton mo is a 3.2L (4m41) that you acquired 3 years ago dyan sa Bangkok, right? Why is your power rating nasa 185 hp? Dito kasi, yung 3.2 ko ang power rating is only 160 hp.
    2) Do you have a VGT installed on your engine as an aftermarket modification?
    3) Is the current face-lifted strada/triton released there in Thailand already equipped with VGT?

    Thanks.

    *auroraoffroader. hi there bro...

MPa... as far as i know, means MegaPascals. It is the Hyper Pressure Supply Pump that supplies fuel to the engine. The higher the number, the stronger the fuel is supplied to the engine...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal_(unit)

But i think this has been re-calibrated/adjusted for the Philippines since our fuel is not as refined as Thailand's or other countries in Asia. I'm not too sure if it still remains as 180MPa.

IMO, the Triton in thailand is not equipped with the VGT to this date.

VGT is currently available on the PAJERO in other countries (Australia) as well as the upcoming 1.8 and 2.2 Clean Diesel Engines "4N1" series as well as the 3.0V6 used at the Racing Lancer in the recent Dakar Rally. We still have to see this in the 4M41 equipped Strada/Montero Sport

Have you tried adjusting the steering column (up or down)? So your view of the gear will not be obstructed.
    perfect reply sir.

Yes. i am expecting this NEW engine series known as the "Clean Diesel Engines" to be launched at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show (here is hoping we will get to see the 10th Gen Galant!). the 1.8 (4N13) and the 2.2 (4N14) receive the latest technology for diesels such as "variable geometry turbocharger / variable diffuser, intercooler" which is a step or two higher than the 4D56, 4M40, 4M41, 4M42. These engines are primarily for Mitsubishi's passenger car applications so I'm not too sure they can see the light of day on the Strada/Pajero. This is important for Mitsubishi since the Lancer and Grandis Models in europe, where there is a strong demand for diesel variants, are powered by Volkswagen Turbo Diesels!!!

    Hi sir dadz,
The HP and torque ratings that we have different because we are following the "General Export (GE)" specification for the Strada which could be different from the Strada's home country- Thailand. The GE spec is used for most countries including SouthEast/South Asia, Latin America/Carribean and Africa.

click on the link to read it.
    http://www.30.com.hk/car_html/model_..._l200_gene.pdf

it was with this brochure where i learned where we are getting 135MPa instead of Thailand's 180MPa as first mentioned by Auroraoffroader. But I'm not sure if MMPC did further recalibration though.

VGT from Volvo? from what model did it come from? i guess it was first installed in one of their 5-cylinder models siguro...

AFAIK, the facelifted version is only seen in thailand. other countries still have the current face. After looking at most of Mitsubishi's website worldwide, i think the Philippines will be the First country outside Thailand and the First everywhere else to get the updated fascia.

tama si sir dadz, even in japan, ang 2.5 diesel engines lang ang may approval to use diesel mix, and i think it still depends on the concentration of the B5 pa, i will have to check with my friend there. As per other diesel engines with higher displacements, do not do it on stock configuration, as what dadz has said earlier nippon denso is actually selling something that you will have to replace, i think in your fuel injection system, to be bio diesel compatible.

    *hansypattucci, hello po sir!

this is what i checked on regarding the DIN for car audio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_7736

IMO, it is somewhat impossible for the GLX to have the rear power window. probably due to the additional wiring, space and labor to have it installed. I don't think MMPC has the parts readily available for this kind of pursuit and i havent heard of anyone to date who did something like this- but i could be wrong though... Nonetheless, irregardless of getting either the GLS or GLX, it is still a good investment.
as far as installing LCD screens at the headrest, yup, i know how you feel since my nieces at one time Laughed Out Loud to the antics of Mr. Bean behind my ear while i was driving... I think leading car shops have installed an LCD screen- Fellow Strada Club Member Bobcas was able to have this done (i forgot how much it was and where it was installed) but leading car shops can have the LCD strapped to a pre-existing headraistrant... just be aware of cutting a big hole on the seat cover though...

lets wait for sir av8or5 as well as the others for their response... HTH.
heya ian, thanks for the info and lcd ideas! good to know that there are options for what i am looking for. hopefully if i decide to get the gls it won't be that difficult to install the dvd player.

saw a brand in blade called caraesthetics (spelling?), around 20K++ daw for the dvd player and touchscreen, additional 9K for backup camera system, but it comes with a separate monitor (kung pioneer or name brands daw by order pa and aabot daw ng mga 40K).

never heard of the brand before though. any feedback from peeps who've installed this brand? thanks

Thanks Ian for the post. I've used biodiesel on my 2.5 GLX and I would say it gave better performance. It was Flying V. Last time was when I went up to Pagudpud about a month ago. It cost more than regular diesel. I thought nga all diesels have mix of biodiesel. Now, I am using Total with less sulfur. So far so good. Just last night it was P29.00/liter.

Mikko pointed out that the gas stations along NLEX has cheaper fuel prices than most gas stations in the metro. Almost P1.00 difference.

noted sir arvin. in case any 3.2 user (Strada, Montero Sport, Pajero) will get into trouble for using B5, we can take the word of MMPC for the ad they posted on their website.

*av8or5- thanks for the input. il share this with the rest of the Baguio BOSBs... its just that our current Diesel is running at P33-34 petot... haiz. Currently, Baguio still relies on the Big 3. Newbies are not too popular here. Total has 1 station i think around town... and Flying V has one near PMA/Airport. E10 on the other hand is already available at Select Petron and Shell outlets na.

    hi sirs!

good day, I'm in the process of getting a gl unit, and I have a few questions that I hope you can help me with..

    - what's the widest and tallest sets of MT tires that i can use for
    15x10 or 16x8 inch rims?

AFAIK 16" tires cant be as wide as the 15 inchers

for 16", im thinking of getting a 285/75/16 set of tires
for 15", probably a 31x10x15 set of tires

for tires naman, im thinking of getting BFG's.
ok po ba ito or may ma recommend po kayo na better?

Looking forward in being a part if this club as soon as i get my unit hopefully in two days :D

thanks in advance and more power!
