Thanks sir av8or5 for sharing your experience on your ride. Actually the "hard shifting" is on the shift lever. That happens the day after my long trip to Isabela, really hard that i need to exert more force and that is already with the clutch fully pressed down. And in that afternoon, i cannot anymore shift the lever my friend did some adjustment on the clutch and it went fine.He said the clutch stuck, para daw nakalubog hindi umangat kaya hindi maishift yung lever.

Also during the long trip i feel some "lagutok" under when shifting sabi ng mga friends ko dahil daw sa hindi timing ang tapak o pagrelease ng clutch sa shifting ng lever, tama po ba?

Anyway right now ok naman na performance ng transmission ko, balik na sa dati shifting di na matigas. what bothers me na lang if happens again in the future but i will report this experience on my strada to the casa here.

Hi sir, I read your negative comment on your ride. Let's differentiate your hard shifting...is it with the shift lever or when letting go of the clutch? My experience was when i have placed it in gear and even if i balance the clutch and gas, it still doesnt give smooth ride. iba kasi sa shifter itself. my transmission was changed because the last adjustments they made caused the transmission fluid to leak and i didnt have 5th gear.

im okay with my transmission, but i still feel that the shift knob is not as smooth as others..but i learned to live with it....however, i dont experience hard shifting. i hope i have written it down well...its like in an automatic car, it should shift without you feeling it go through the gears...but i've riden in my uncles benz i would say their benz has hard shifting vs our camry before.

Finally, I will be seeing soon a Strada in Baguio with the TSCP sticker at the back hehe. I've seen one black, one red and one blue Strada with AHJ plates but none of them is a club member.
sir GO1- thanks po. So you also experienced that hard shifting, is it the same like mine? Hope we can meet also and have some talk about our ride so i can learn some of your experiences.

    Read your PM, thanks sir.

Thanks for meeting with me today and for that short bonding. I learned a lot from the advices and pointers you shared You know im the type na "just drive" lang alam on vehicles this thread help a lot for me to be little knowledgeable everything about rides.

So what is your assesment now when you test drive my strada? Based on what i observed on your reaction looks like the shifting of my unit is OK. Actually sir, this is my 1st pickup truck and i used to drive a car siguro naninibago lang ako. But the experience on that certain day is not normal i think.

hello sir ramz (or should i say hello neighbor!) hehehe...

thanks for your time also. it was great hanging out with you. as you learn and as you know more about your truck, the more you will enjoy it po... best effort as always! hehehehe...

for the information of everyone, driving the truck of Sir Ramz was simply amazing thanks to his adjusted clutch pedal! not only was releasing the clutch came ooozing with torque, it was easier to handle kasi mas mababaw na sya! hmmm... maybe its about time that i should be paying more attention to a manual transmissioned car! i couldn't think of a direct cause of his gearshift issue- as long as we make sure that the floor mat does not touch the part of the clutch pedal that touches the carpet and fully depress the pedal, then shift. i changed my driving style several times in driving your 2009 Strada GLX: hataw (moxxxs) mode, regular mode and slow poke mode from the Loakan Airport to SM Baguio and i didnt feel any inconvenience at all! i even had a lot of fun that we didnt need to switch on the radio! i even made the truck crawl on traffic with lane changes hanging on an incline filled with hard-headed taxis in front of SM! dyan ako napabilib sa sarili ko and with the truck considering that it has been 2-and-a half months since i last drove an M/T car!

as for the Lagutok, i believe this is more on the clutch gearshift combo- i carpool with a friend to the office using a '05 Starex 2.5 CRDi sometimes and may "lagutok" din sya when his gearshift/clutch combo is not refined coupled with a jerk/push when he releases the clutch.

Please don't hesitate to call my attention if the issue reoccured again.

*G01, sir ramz would like to meet with you also in the coming days!

sir, actually what am using now is a 265x75r16. i think doc glen is using the 275 or 285.

i don't seen any problems other than having to remove your mud guard extension and/or fender liner if you have one, kasi sasayad yan pag bumira ka ng manibela.

pero just my advice, anything wider than 265, medyo makakasama na sa steering linkages and joints, kasi maigat na birahin yung gulong, bigger tires=more road surface friction=harder steering(but more stable at high speeds)=shorter life for steering joints and linkages.

if you're really decided on using tires this wide, get a set of wheels(mags) that are or have a + offset, meaning palabas yung porma ng mags. this way you minimize any rubbing with the chassis and the inner wheel well which can ruin your new tire.

i don't know if i'm explaining this properly. just let me know thru PM or just quote this message.

    thanks!!!

Nice upgrades to your blue Strada, madam PiggyPrincess, specially the tires and rims. I noticed that you had the aluminum tube of your roll bar painted with black. Nice!

We were supposed to do some offroad trailing during the weekend but ended up going to Subic after my wife suddenly came up with the idea of going there and my kids right away agreed to their mom's idea . The ride and trip to Subic was great. The SCTEX is really nice. 100 KPH maximum speed at the SCTEX is just too slow though. It was rainy when I took this photo last Saturday noon. The SCTEX almost looks like some highways in China during its infancy stage.

    SCTEX:

This is inside Zoobic. Parked the Strada then we transferred to a jeep that is used to drive us around an enclosed area where the tigers are being kept.

A tiger being fed by the zoo-keeper while inside the jeep.

Monkeys along the road at Subic. There are warning signs not to feed the monkeys.

The trip to Subic was really great. On or off road, the Strada's ride is just superb.

anybody... if I upgrade my tires how about the TPMS, is it still functional. Because what I know the sensors are located in the original tire itself.

    Please help...

sir i'll try to explain it the simplest way i can okay, if there are questions just let me know. sayang i forgot to take pictures when i did it a few months ago... but here goes...

    - the tpms sensor is connected to the tire valve itself and not the rim as some stores are inclined to saying. if you will look closely at the valve body, you'll notice that it looks like a nut(as in bolt and nut) this is a size 11mm(you will need a deep socket to remove this, try not to use an open wrench unless you want to risk damaging the nut, valve and scraping your rim).

    - is you want to just change tires and keep the same rim, no problems for you. just make sure to tell the tire changer to be very careful when unmounting the old tyre and mounting the new one, as the body of the sensor is only around 1-2inches away from the lip of the rim.

    - if you want to also replace the rim, do the afor mentioned step, then get a 11mm deep socket and remove the nut on the outside of the valve. do remember that this is an aluminum body, kaya medyo ingat lang!!!

    - whith the nut removed, just push it out, and it'll drop off. then install it to your new mags, just doing the entire process backwards. just don't overtighten lest you want to break the valve body.

any questions or clarifications just let me know.
sorry if this is the best that i can do
