sir sa 16x6 rims, hanggang 245/70 tires ang puede mo ilagay for safety reasons... but kung 16x7 or 17x7 ang rims, 265/70 will be just fine.

one last thing, can we merge this thread to the New Strada Thread? mas madami gurus dun to answer your question...

hope to see your strada soon... post mo pics once you get it from the casa... drive inspired!

    thanks

stock rims ng 2008 GLX is still 16x6... kapag inilagay mo 265/70 sa 16x6 rims, ang laki ng 'bilbil', delikado sa cornering and high speeds... in my case, glx din ride ko but i upgraded my rims sa 17x7 (stock ng 2008 gls sport) then nilagyan ko ng mas malapad na tires. here is the pic :

Nice!!! How much are the tires? I am planning to upgrade my tires soon. Good thing Mickey Thompson has an A/T for the 17" rim. Do you know if M/T is also available for the 17" and how much?

meron MT for 17" bro... 265/70/R17 and 286/70/R17 here is the link: http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/t...=BajaMTZRadial

Thank you, sir ThePatriarch, for the link and the name and address of the dealer. Too wide nga yung 285.

    Sir Mike18, Good Suggestion.

MMPC enigneer came here last week to check on my truck's steering problem. as expected, he was trying his best to prove that there's nothing wrong with the steering even though i could clearly see his hands shaking while holding and steering wheel and the various instances of bump steer.

Excessive steering wheel vibration, shimmy and bump steer are common problems that any motorist would easily notice. the people from MMPC said it's normal with their strada. bull****!

Mga Sirs, please observed your steering wheel after hitting potholes if your truck "bump steers" and vibrates more than as compared to all the car youve driven and give me feedback. ive tested several new stradas and all exhibit this unsual, unsafe and uncomfortable behavior.

please give me feedback. MMPC is not taking my concern very seriously even i already have proven my complaint and the dealer as well as MMPC had replicated it during our road test.

    thank you.

Now I understand what you're trying to say. I have noticed this too in my strada even before, the steering-wheel-vibrating-thing especially on slightly uneven roads, but, it never caused me any concern. The rack-n-pinion steering is just giving too much road kickback. I was able to take note of this because the metal bracelet of my watch is noisier when I drive the strada.

It's quite irritating occasionally, but it never made my driving feel unsafe, even if I hit some potholes (well, I just slow down if I'm not familiar with the road). It's also a tall vehicle so the bumpiness and wallowing could be more pronounced.

I'm not sure if the old strada has the recirculating ball type steering.

I hope my answer satisfied you a bit.

BTW, I don't feel the bumpsteering.

Sorry about quoting a day-old post, but sobrang idol ko ang gulong ni Sir Patriarch. It'll take me some time, but I'll definitely save up for some hawt tires for my future Strada... pero for now, Carryboy G-500 muna.

its really sa preference ng owner. but most will stick with 265. for best tire size for certain rims, refer to tire websites. back read meron nag post nun. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/index.jsp

I suggest stay with the stock spec. It would be nice and great to be unique, but that also means having unique handling characteristic also.

I see the stock spec as an all rounder. Unless you plan to use your truck in a 'special condition' which requires special set of tires...then of course, that makes sense.

As most of us know, wider tires translate to better handling at the expense fuel efficiency. (more drag due to wider contact on the road)

I've noticed this... hehehhe but not very alarming for me... though its vibrating or should they say excessive steering wheel vibration.... I still feel comfortable though its vibrating, it doesn't affect the road performance and the road grip... someone mentioned here that its like a kiti-kiti when you let go the steering wheel and it makes me grin coz its true.....

I have a mitsu lancer too and same problem when someone uses it for a long trip.. They feel the vibration, well i guess and only guess that mitsu cars are made that way... steering wheels are the absorbers... hehehhe

but running it around 180k is not a problem not unlike the old dmax i've tested... peace
