New Mitsubishi Strada [ARCHIVED]

Hello Strada Guys!!!

...sa rough road naman, should I suppose to feel vibrations sa steering wheel? patag yung daan at walang lubak lubak... di lang sementado... steering column na ba problem? 13+++ kms na odo reading...


yung case ni sir mike18.... diko ito napapansin samin kung meron o wala...

hay daming kailaingang basahin!!! di pa ako nagpapalit ng uniform eto na agad inatupag ko...

sir mikko.. i have the same uninspiring, dismal and annoying problem! too much/excessive vibration sa steering wheel not only in rough roads (worst) but even on insignifant road imperfections (cement or asphalt). very uncomfortable ride . i have to do all the effort to hold the truck in place. i also observed shimmy and wander when hitting even small bumps. There's is serious safety issue here. i still am waiting feedback from the dealer after we roadtested my unit.

i will leave my disgust over the vehicle for myself first until the dealer and mitsu has anything to say first.

The prices are as follows: front plate (oil sump) Php8.8th, mid plate (tranny) Php 4th, rear plate (propeller shaft & axle housing) Php 8.8th. Hi sir crazed_balisong. I suggest that you test drive a unit first before you buy, not only the strada, but other trucks as well. Confirm what you hear or what others say and you be the judge.

For me the description "parang kuryente" is an exaggeration.

As far as the ride of the strada not stable, I am not a fast driver, medyo magaan ang kanang paa ko and I respect the road, so I have not encountered any instablity yet.

Your concerns, I think, are among the pitfalls or limitations of the new strada. Those are areas that mitsubishi may want to improve on. But just the same, for me, the strada has other good and excellent points that meet my needs.

By the way, I do mostly city driving and had not encountered the instability that you have mentioned in your past posts. I think I'll have to be careful then when I get to drive it under those situations you mentioned.

Sir ooba99 & eslonblue, as for your inquiries re: installation issues will talk with them today. sir eslon just to verify is the skid plates that you are interested in the one without the vents for the oil sump?

sir the part in the picture is not the U-bolt, as don't said, it just keeps the leafs aligned, and it stop over extending the leaf pack during articulation. If you notice some jeeps nga use stripped rubber to hold them together. As for squeaking sounds, it is normal for the leaf packs to make a sound because as seen they have metal to metal contact with each other. Check if the inter leaf liner is lubricated, these are the round plastic found in each end of the leaf. Also check if the bushings are too tight. The clamps also sometimes rub in the sides against the leafs, I have not noticed if the clamps on the strada have plastic inserts. It is best to use graphite grease to lubricate inter leaf liner, bushings.

The U-bolts mentioned in the article are the U shaped bolts that hold the axle to the leaf spring.

about the stradas' being unstable, it might be due to the soft suspension settings. the suspension cannot cope up with the rough or uneven roads sometimes, hence making it change lanes. this is common to pick-ups because of the rear being light. but is most common in the strada. a suspension upgrade will help lessen this problem. sometimes it also helps to put a 50-80 kilo sand bag to minimize rear wheel hop.

Bro, hindi kaya lemon car ang nakuha mo? I mean misaligned suspension aggravated by malfuntioned steering?

Before I forget, guys, have your units aligned outside by reputable shops. Yung sa akin, malayo ang alignment 6 months after coming out from the casa. I noticed this due to the uneven tire wear. This may help a lot.

mga bosb's, was back reading the threads and i noticed that there are already a few complaints regarding excessive steering vibration on rough roads and lane hopping when a bump is hit....

sir ARB pretty much gave a good explanation as to why there is steering vibration, please take note that our stering system is now very much different as compared to the 1st and 2nd gen stradas. you want to lesse the vibration, upgrade your front suspension, get stiffer coils with matching shocks, put on bigger tires.

i take my strada to my various job sites where our only access roads are either old logging roads or quarry roads or pretty much just a lane cut into the land. i admit there is vibration, but i also get that with my first gen pajero and my dad's montero. i just upgraded the shocks of both and the vibration is now minimal.

i intend to do the same with my strada budget permitting.

int he mean time, drive slow when on bad roads there's no reason why you should be going 60-80 on these kinds of roads.

sir ARB, if that's not the u-bolt, ano po ba yun? para makapag research ako about it...iyun kasi ang sabi ng service advisors na nakausap namin sa Diamond Motors tsaka sa Freeway Baliuag e, kaya all i know u-bolt ang tawag dun, i admit wala akong alam when it comes to auto parts. that's why i'm seeking help in this thread. thanks sa reply.

Just went to DZ Racing this am & clarified their pricing. It turns out there was a miscommunication in our text messaging over the weekend re: the mid & rear skid plates. The mid skid plate refers to the propeller shaft only, while the rear skid plate refers to the axle housing. For the transmission, he has no price yet. Their price is the lowest they could give and comes with the installation. They say it is supposed to be bolt-on acc. to autoexim. This would be the revised list of the for the skid plates, kindly update your orders esp for those who signed up earlier, sir ooba99 & boz:

i hope not bro. i dont think there's aproblem with alignment, the truck can go straight even at high speeds "on smooth surface". excessive vibration lang sa steering and road wander problema pag uneven surface and rough roads which of course are major concerns.
