I was able to inspect the newly arrived unit at casa last Friday. Externally, the only difference between the 2.5 and the 3.2 stocks that I remember seeing are the addition of the word "Sport" on the name "Strada GLS" at the back and the wider tires.

I'm really interested in getting a new strada. Everything seems perfect. HOWEVER, one thing turns me off whenever I get inside. The center floor console seems to be directly carried over from the right hand drive versions. The shifter frame is not driver-oriented but rather for the front passenger; as one would observe, its curve should go the other way around, leaving the "open, folded portion" nearer the driver. The handbrake, too, is misplaced. Finally, for the the automatic variant, the letters "P", "R", "N", "D", etc. are on the right side of shifter.

Here are some pictures for your reference..

This is the right hand driver version. The shifter frame (and the shifter guide for the auto variant) is perfect since it is oriented for the driver. The handbrake is also positioned correctly.

Here's the local version.. Mitsu's lack of attention to detail makes the pick-up look converted!

Just my two cents, no offense guys! I really like the new Strada. I just hope Mitsubishi can give more attention to detail next time!

if you ask me, the RHD people should be the one complaining because, the shifter is really designed for the LHD version...

im really impressed that they are comingout with a M/T version of the 3.2 4m41 strada....grabe siguro hatak nito.....
