Thanks for the welcome guys. It's been great so far (smooth enough ride, ease with steering, medyo 6.5km/l lang because of heavy traffic lagi dinadaanan ko), I can give more feedback after a few weeks of breakin and getting used to driving it.

I got the GLS color red, very minimal waiting period about 2 - 3 days.

BTW, does anybody out there know the recommended Tire Pressure (stock tires and rims) for this?

^ i don't think you can go wrong with tire pressure of between 32-35psi.

a okie bcoz sometime i notice the numbers like the km/L and the speed avg is not moving so i press the reset. Nxt time ill try not to reset it but as for your FC is it actual in manual computation and onboard computer?

^ who knows.. i really doubt that its really really accurate. Whatever number is coming out, all we can do is believe that its the correct info?

But we have an american car that has the fuel consumption gauge also.. i really don't think its real time.. since it'll say 100km to go before tank empty.. but go for another few km and it'll drop to like 50km. so its really hard to use that as your gauge for fuel consumption.

my advice to everybody who loves setting up their cars.. or even just sounds.. take the display out and put a touch screen dvd head unit! There's actually a provision behind the display for a 2-din headunit!

    Turbo timer

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A turbo timer is a device designed to keep an automotive engine running for a pre-specified period of time in order to automatically execute the cool-down period required to prevent premature turbo wear and failure. After a period of driving when a turbocharger has been working hard, it is important to let the engine run at idle speed for a period of time, allowing the compressor assembly to cool from the lower gas temperatures in both the exhaust and intake tracts. At the same time the lubricating oil from the engine is able to circulate properly so the turbine won't burn the lubricating oil that would otherwise be trapped within the charger with the turbine rotating at high speed. With regard to modern automotive turbochargers, the need for a turbo timer can be eliminated by simply ensuring the car does not produce any 'boost' (during driving) for several minutes prior to the ignition being shut off.
Most turbo timers are based on digital electronics.

Simply put, mainit kasi ang turbocharger. Di ba metal expands when heated?

Fyi to everyone who wants/wanted the white MS.. i heard from a source, that the story the showrooms have of the white not being delivered to the philippines from thailand is false. the real reason why the white units aren't coming out from the plant is because the paint of the white units have faded. The paint of some of the units were ruined in the plant from being under the sun the bird droppings. The pearl white paint that they used aren't of good quality hence the fading and damaging. So right now, they are repainting or 'touching up' the white units. Hence the delay.. so for those who insist on white, pls check the paint thoroughly before recieving the unit.

KCboy. what are your plans with your MS? i'm very much interested in hooking mine up too.. right now, i'm just waiting for the lowering kit for it. The front is easy because its the same as the strada.. its the back that's a problem, we tried using the old montero's springs but it was smaller.. i heard that the rear suspension might be patterned after the fieldmaster.. So we'll try that next, problem is the fieldmasters springs are out of stock and there aren't many in the phils that are lowered so its hard to know for sure until we get it in stock.

Re: sa turbo timer. Optional lang po ba ito? Kasi sabi ng SA namin. Ok na daw na i-turn off ang makina di tulad ng old pajeros noon na kailangan pa ng cool down period bago patayin ang makina.

no matter what they say about not needing to cool down the turbo, you really need to do that, whether a turbo timer or you wait a few minutes of idling before you turn off the engine....the bad effects are more of long term if you dont take care of your turbo. turbo leaking, loss of power, etc...so please take care of your turbo....

Thank You Sir KCboy, siguro hahanap nalang ako ng turbo timer. As said from the earlier post, Mas cheaper magpakabit ng turbo timer kesa masira ang turbo in the long run

I'm planning to have MS kasi this coming November kaya lang di ako ganado sa automatic transmission eh. I always prefer the manual one. Sana somebody enlightened me if there are coming variants ng MS na manual at ang engine eh medyo di magastos i-maintained at lower ang engine displacement pero di compromise ang torque at horsepower rating.

you can always do the waiting and idling thing for the first year or so of your MS, baka kasi they might void your electrical warranty, just dont let the rpm go past 1000 in your last kilometer or so of driving so that the turbo wont heat up that much then let the engine idle for 30 secs to 1 minute, i personally think that's good enough.
