Dude, hindi ba bouncy ang ride? Yup, sana baguhin nila yung aircon vents. Hindi effective ang cooling ng design na ganyan lalo na kapag kainitan ng araw... pero overall, competitive pa rin ang price nya against other SUV.
I don't care about the battery or Stereo. They will not reach 50T if you replace them with your likings.

yes, 170k makes up for the additional features. also, GLS is only manual adjust seats- hindi pa ginawang pump-style manual height adjustable yung driver side!
the montero sport's styling is not everyone's cup of tea- im still not used to the toothy grille to start with but i'm ok with the rear end blistered rear fender. nice touch on the rear fog lamp for the SE. but if i own one, i would pu an additional halogen lamp. reversing a bigger SUV is no joke. also, the reversing tone is not too loud!
im not a big fan of JVC head units- i would have prefered Pioneer sana. looking at the OEM head units of Thailand, it may not meet our expectations. so an outsourced unit is the best option.
the dashboard lights may not be color coordinated. red lighted instrument cluster over a blue RV-Meter? hmmmm...
the seats are ok with me- ang importante sa akin is when i recline the 2nd row and slide it forward/backward. i just wish there was a more accessible knob for me to make the adjustment. surprisingly hindi ako nauntog sa third row! the folding function of it though may take some getting used to- especially if you are the type of owner who likes to put a rubber mat when its folded and when you want to use the third row bench to load 2 more passengers.
my test drive yesterday was bitin because i wanted to test the off-road capability like what was done 2 years ago with the strada at the global city- there was an off and on road track for us to enjoy. it lacks additional sound deadening materials but il get used to it. the 3.2 is very responsive. kudos to the sports mode. but at the end of the day, the tired and lazy owner from work would just want to leave it at D until he reaches home. save that for the day-off.

August 31st, 2008 02:29 PM #203check the 2nd and 3rd row seats uncomfortable. for a 4x4 * 1.430m its affordable compare to 4x4 fortuner but you can never make it as comfortable as fortuners seat.

August 31st, 2008 04:25 PM #204Got to check out the Montero Sport with my wife earlier.
Seems like higher variant's leather seats are more comfy than fabric ones. Also, I notice that lower variant's manual driver seats are not height adjustable (?) so 8-way power seats of higher variant seems worth the price.
I also don't mind JVC stereo cuz you can always change it with something else and shouldn't cost too much.
Only major negative part for me is that roof seems kinda low for taller passengers although its fine for me. Then again, if you make roof higher, overall height might be too high for indoor parking lots especially since ground clearance is very high already.
Overall, I'm quite impressed as it looks SO MUCH better compared to press release pictures.
Mitsubishi dealer in Valle Verde claims that they already have 10 units for release and another 10 units reserved in just a few days. Looks like the Montero Sport will probably be the next "SUV ng bayan" after the Fortuner.

Sir the ride was very comfortable unlike the Fortuner which was bumpy nga talaga. I remember a while ago nagtest drive ulit kami sa MOA naman nung montero sport occupied lahat ang seats tapos mga 8 pa nga kami nakasakay tapos naghanap kami ng madadaanan na mejo malubak or yung tipong pwede "magbounce" yung car pero ok talaga sya. Tapos nung 2 nalang kami nung agent na nakasakay same pa din and wala naman matunong or kumakalampag sa likod. Twice ko na sya natest drive and wala naman ako ibang masabi na "negative" about this suv except na sana nga lang yung aircon sa likod e nasa ceiling sana tapos yung sound system sana wag naman JVC, parang ang cheap kasi sana rockford fosgate nalang. Hehehe!
The 3rd row seat (well at least for me...) was roomier than the Fortuner, enough for me to sit comfortably kahit mahaba legs ko.
Gaya din ng sabi mo sir seismicman i also dont care about sa battery or stereo as long as you enjoy the ride and as long as its a MITSU eh ok na ok na para sakin. Headturner na talaga toh than the Fortuner.
Antay nalang kami ng mga ilang months then bibili na kami ng montero sport... well dad ko naman ang bibili pero pareho kami nagdedecide which car to buy and we'll go for the montero sport. If maglalabas naman sila earlier this year ng 2.5L variant eh di much better na yun ang bilin namin!

September 1st, 2008 09:09 AM #207Mga Bro kamusta naman po ung steering niya? Is it different from that of Strada or of the same kind parin? We all heard of the steering problems of Strada.

September 1st, 2008 08:08 PM #208Tried test driving this one earlier this afternoon * MOA. Maganda ang ride nito. We even tried beside the church meron kasi part doon na off road. Nakiusap yung agent dun sa guard na nagbabantay kung pwede itest. Maganda yung response ng suspension at hindi matagtag.
Try test driving now.
