sir kcboy, sa montero sport ba, the transfer case lever is directly connected to the transfer case similar to gen 2 and gen 2.5 models (feels like your shifting your manual tranny)? or is it the electronic lever type like sa gen 3 and gen 4 (feels like gearshift sa daytona racing)? pag electronic kasi sir, pagkaka alam ko no need to shift to neutral, automatic na lahat when shifting to 4h, siya na mag engage once you release the throttle. if you dont release the throttle, the 4wd indicator would just continue blinking.

a FC of 15-20kms/liter.. malabo on the normal driving, even on the highway with 3.2 and automatic transmission.. the possible highest FC of this vehicle on highway is 12kms/L.. city driving is around 7-9Kms/L.. same with strada.. but strada is more lighter than the MS (not sure) .. more or less pa yan..defend on your driving habbit..

But, you can achive this by elimanating the coefficient drag of the vehicle.. travelling at the back of trailer truck or bus... heheheh drag was lessen with vacuum effect at the back of the truck or bus.. ala myth buster...

fuel consumption really depends on one's driving style... if you don't go pedal to the metal on normal city driving, i say 8km/L is plausible... 12km/L on highway driving isn't far fetched as well.. 15-20 km/L is way too high... as KCboy said in a previous post.. the pajero and montero share the same engine and tranny, but the montero is lighter than the pajero.. so if a pajero can average 7km/L on city driving, then the montero would most probably do better....

so they are telling me the wrong info?? i was really surprised when they told me 15-20 yung FC nya coz when i ask for the FC of the adventure they told me 12km/l. to think mas malaki at mabigat ang Montero Sport.

...and 4x4 pa. Yang mga SA (not all) na yan kung ano anong pinagsasabi nila makabenta lang, pagka naman tinanong mo ng detailye like center differential lock di nila alam.

Kung Alto or QQ pinag-uusapan nyo maniwala pa ko.

Regarding FC, I've yet to do a full tank computation - hindi pa ko nagpapafull tank eh.

But as per the on board FC monitor, I'm getting around 12.5 L /100 km (highest) to 13.0 L /100 km (lowest). That's around 7.7 to 8 km / L, purely city driving.

    HTH.

7km/lt is not bad for a 3.2engine IMHO. My Pajero FM 2.8 4wd is only doing 6km/lt.

the montero sport i believe has a 4 speed transmission while the pajero has a 5 speed, on the pajero, i use the invecs to upshift to 2nd gear at 20kph, 3rd gear at 30kph, 4th gear at 40kph and 5th gear at 60kph, this way i minimize my rpm to 1000 to 1500rpm, on the other hand, the montero sport i upshift to 2nd gear at 20kph but can only upshift to 3rd gear at 40kph, then 3rdgear at 50kph and then 4th gear at 60kph, rpm hits between 1000 to 2000rpm. somehow i feel its a tie between the 2.hehehehe.

it is the same as the old gen2 and gen 2.5 pajero, i like it that way, our gen3 is electric so no need to shift to neutral, you just shift the lever. for the montero sport, you have to shift to neutral just to be on the safe side, if not, the 4wd lever is very stiff and hard to shift to 4H.

KCboy, just for clarification... if Im running at around 60kph at 2H, i have to shift to neutral (while running), then shift to 4H, then shift back to drive? tama ba?

got my mags and tires in severino reyes street manila, close at tondo. for me, the ride is the same as the stock mags. the montero sport's suspension and ride is way way better than the stock fortuner. fitting 20s with 50 series tires are ok. no woorries.

Am I damaging my tranny if I don't shift to neutral before shifting to 4H?
How about 4H to 2H do i need to shift to neutral first?

i dont know if you are damaging your tranny but for me, i found it easier to shift to 4h if i put it in N, so i just do that. as for the shifting of 4h to 2h, no need, just shift the lever and continue driving to 2h.
