hi, has anyone tried connecting an ipod or iphone in the usb cable inside the glove compartment and successfully played songs? mine doesn't play whenever I connect my ipod video however it can read and play songs from my external drive. i have it checked already by a technician at Diamond motors but he is not also sure why it is not working. Thanks in advance if anybody can help me on this.

Guys, for HIDs, if you're willing to spend, i definitely suggest Philips brand.. but as of now, i heard that Philips do not have H11 bulbs for our monteros. But i may be wrong..

If not, go for XENON-BULBS brand.. i've been using those for a while now on a few different cars, tried and tested na.. it gets the true essence of the HID. There are too many china HIDs with low outputs and are much cheaper. You get the look(color) but you won't get the HID output(brightness) or the true usefulness of the HID.

The standard output of HID is 35watts.. but most of the china ones will say that also, but if you compare to other more branded HIDs, you will definitely see the difference. Also, right now XENON-BULBS is offering 50watt HIDs.. The brightness of these HIDs will definitely blow away the 35watt ones.. I will guarantee that! You can be behind another car with china HIDs and you'll still overshadow his HIDs!

^ i get a really good discount at xenon bulbs. So i'm not exactly sure how much the retail is.. if i'm not mistaken, the 35watts are 14t? and the 50watts are 17t? I'm just not so sure about the exact price but that should be about right. I remember back 2 years ago, they did cost around 22-25t per set.

Philips on the other hand, i'm very confused about, some say that u can buy a set for about 20t and others at 30+t.. maybe the cheaper one isn't all philips? maybe just the ballast? i've seen those around too.. so i'm not really sure.

As for the headunit, i've attached my ipod nano and touch, and they both seem to work fine. I've also used a flash drive and its all good.

Regarding external hard drives, you gotta make sure the hard drive doesn't require so much energy to run. The USB port that comes with our stock units are powerful enough to run external hard drives, hence they don't work. But i've been told by the peole who hooked up my sounds that the WD Passport external hard drive seem compatible with our units and it gives just enough power to power the hard drive. But i've never tried that.. i suggest using a flash drive instead, i just recently bought and the 8gb flash drive is less than 900php. how many songs can you already fit in 8gbs.

    Good Morning to All!

Been around this forum since early 2000 but only reading and listening to all nice people here.

Just got my Montero Sport SE and going thru the manuals and the SUV.

Got some questions hoping for your replies and advices.

    1. How do I activate the alarm system? The manual says it was shipped in "inactivated".

    2. Ok lang if I use an old turbo timer (Pivot ang brand, from previous Ranger 4wd )? Sabi nang Casa they will charge installation fee. Will the warranties hold even if the turbo timer was not supplied by them?
    i
I am excited to start the exploration kaso ala pa permit to travel and the registration is in process. (Note : Casa allowed me to take out the unit over the weekend but with advice not to drive on the streets, kaya dito lang muna sa subdivision paikot ikot)

I have an old US Montero (circa 1987, 4G54 gas model). This one is the lolo of the new montero and it had served me very well specially when the road conditions get tough. I still keep it well maintained. Its always ready for action and somehow you know it will not fail you.

Well, perhaps this is one reason I wanted this new one. NO WORRY THE GRANDPA IS ALWAYS AROUND . . .

I tried my ipod touch this morning. It worked. Try to locate your ipod by pressing the main dial (left side dial also used for volume control).

There are also info found in the manual/brochures for the JVC given by the dealership. You might want to review or configure your set-up using it for reference
