Hi Sir hawkenph,...you are not alone, I from Singapore...
Maybe just share my experience why i chose Montero sport, it purely my own point of of view....
Last year Oct when i decided to sell my Mazda Tribute, i looking between Toyota Fort and Montero sport...........and why i dont chose other? the reason below :
1 Isuzu ... to my feeling their good in truck, not car or SUV...
2. Mazda CX9 or 7, Too expensive.....
3. Nissan... Model too old.....
The main reason i chose Montero Sport.....
1. New Model.
2. Outlook.
3. I have good impreesion with my used Pajero..the ride and size....
If you wana more details ,you may PM me...
Thank you....
Welcome to our thread, and Hope to meet you our next EB...
I happy to know that"s improvement on the new montero sport, i the one complaint about the Steering shaft in "ISSUES FOR THE MONTERO SPORT"..
by the way i interested to Know the different between your SE and our old SE.
1.. Keyless entry, still Code alarm ? or else ? what kind of different ?
2, Your car audio, JVC ? or different, i think you shall have steering mount remote control...
Hope you can share some picture on it....
Thank you..
I'm glad you were not affected by the increase. That would have been awful if they let you wait for more than two months and still slap an increase on your Montero. In the end, glad it all worked out well and the frustration of waiting is over.
We've decided to get our seatcovers at Sureseats (Alabang) but will wait until we get our 1000k PMS. We'll just be getting a plain black leatherette seatcover. We will be going to a trip down south this weekend and after that will be our 1000k PMS already.
After the seatcovers, we might choose to avail of the Optiguard new car paint protection program of Big Bert's at Araneta Ave. Not sure yet though, still deciding.
My Montero is a GLS 4x2 variant. Just to confirm, is the tank on the left hand side of the engine compartment (when facing the engine) just a reservoir / reserve tank for the coolant?
There are two etched marks stating full and low on the tank and the coolant level seems to be below the half way point (it's a bit close to the low mark for me to be comfortable). I don't know much about these types of engine and their coolants. We will be going to a long trip this weekend and I'm wondering if i should refill it? More importantly, what should I use to refill it?
I checked all other reservoirs, all of which are at the "full mark". TIA

sir how much will the optiguard new car paint protection program of big berts cost?? tnx!
Not sure exactly, I just happen to read about it. Haven't really inquired how much it would cost. If the quotation on their website is correct, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport falls under size qualification of "Large", the program will cost you Php6500.
I asked for a simple summary of the program,
The optiguard paint protection program is a multiple session program which includes: Three (3) Quarterly acrylic paint protective sealant maintenance sessions and One (1) paint detailing session for light to moderate surface defect removal. These session are scheduled every 3 months. Sessions usually take 3-4 hours depending on the paint's condition.

hi everyone,
i'm planning to upgrade the rims and tires of my coming MS 4x2 as soon as I get it from the dealer. Where can I find a good selection of 20's? Can I trade the almost brand new set from them and for how much?
thanks for the very informative discussions. I was trying to backtrack and can't find the pages where there were photos of nice shoes for the monty.
good day.
Hi Sir,
In terms of sourcing rims/tires for your new Monty, you have a couple of options:
1) winterpine - that's where I bought the 22s for my Monty. last time I checked, their chrome 20s cost around 60k (rims only); and they can accept your stock rims and tires for trade-in for around 35-40k.
2) concept one - they have a wider selection of rims than winterpine, but are probably a bit more expensive as well. bought the rims for my previous car (2002 CRV) from them. no regrets with the quality naman.
3) banawe - there's this huge mags shop in banawe, can't remember the name though. if you're coming from E. Rodriguez, it should be on your right as you get closer to Quezon Ave.
Hope this helps sir.![]()
