In order for you to utilize this part, you still need to purchase the Multi Vision Display, because, the hood console has no cover. The price of the Multi Vision Display is" Php59,311.84."

and when i asked if this can be done at casa, their reply is:

"Yes sir, you can work for conversion with any of our dealers. We have stocks now for the Hood Console Meter. Please coordinate with DMC. Thank you."

the only thing that is not clear is their statement that the plastic hood console can not be used if without the multi info display...ahhh maybe the opening of that hood console has partition which is really designed for the mid and the 0.5 din open console at the bottor (exactly what is on the gls se). with that, then we could just easily do what sir ntyce did to install a 2-din hu.
sorry i forgot to mention the price of the plastic hood console meter..it is somewhat P1,600++. Also, i believe that whenever mmpc plant gives price...that is their price to dealer and without VAT yet. So for sure, easily you have to add 12% for the VAT and minimum 10% for the margin of the dealer. Plus installation. it is really not worth it to install the MID; lucky are those who got the GLS 4x4 at the price that they paid, 3.2li 4x4 na and with MID pa with a price difference of 100K+ only.

I just got back from mitsubishi and asked the same question and looked at the 4x2 model to see for myself. and yes it is the same, any installer would be able to take the center console apart and put in the hood console meter. Well definitely it will be a hole there, but its really not worth getting a display for it, i figured for those who want this, are those who want to get a 2din HU. That would be more worth it than getting the display. The display is very expensive and the other thing is, the wiring that they will need to with it would be a lot of work.

Well, if anybody who insists on the display after the conversion, let me know, i'm more than willing to sell my display at a much much cheaper price. The only problem is that its just the display. The wirings in the back is still in my car, so you'd have to get that from mitsu, if they are willing to sell just those.

i think meron ako nabasa dito, yung winterpine yung parang authorized aftermarket dealer ng mitsu? or something like that

sirs NTYcE & j*sto thank you so much for your inputs on the center console. I can finally install a 2din HU on my 4x2.

I just realized, what am I going to use to cover the hole that will be vacated by the stock 1din HU?

About the future Montero Sport Club, may I suggest that the officers be chosen from the top posters on this thread? I think these guys have shown great dedication by sharing much of their time and effort in promoting our beloved monty and in giving assistance to many of us. Just a thought.

you have 2 options, either you install a 2-din screen only (i think this is a better option); oem thailand navigation system look. if you install a screen only, the screen surface is recessed inward. very nice and clean look.. with a screen installed, you can change your 1-din hu with dvd player. plus...not sure if our unit has a provision for a 2-din hu casing, i can easily assumed there is none there.

your 2nd option is install a 2-din dvd hu (cons: If you opt to install a 2-din dvd player/ receiver, you will end having the screen protruded); then buy a 1-din multipurpose tray with cover from concorde, though what is available from them has laminated wood-like finish. you may want just to cover it with a black-piano, reflector type sticker so it look like the rest of the trimmings.

we need a bit of patience waiting...i forgot to include this confirmation from mmpc regarding the hood console meter availability....

"With regards to you inquiry below, I think you are referring to the Hood Console Meter which we are selling at a price of Php 1,613.92. However, our stock will only arrive at the end of this month. But I suggest that you also visit our dealership where you bought your vehicle to confirm the needed part you are requiring."

this email was received this week so he is referring to end June.

hey guys....for those who are probably like me wanting the oem look type of tailgate garnish...this is another good update from my direct communication with mmpc...

"The part you are referring (as ive seen in the photo) is Tailgate Garnish. This item is not applicable for Philippine market. However, due to customers increasing demand of Tailgate Garnish, we are now developing this item locally. Hopefully, we will be able to introduce this item in the Philippine market within this month or early next month."

i honestly like sir ntyce' design (aligned and continuity-look bumper trim linings), but this has the oem thailand look and i supposed has provisions for proper and easy installation.

then i happened to talk with one of the key person at Goldrich. They also confirmed that it could be available next month. It seems that MMPC and Goldrich would have the same supplier! If so, 2 supplier option for exactly same item but definitely huge price difference!

sir j*sto, thank you for the info. I appreciate it very much. You are right. The first option looks like the better one.

most audio installers will have a console from older cars or even new consoles, its not hard to find since the slot is very common sized. So you'll have an extra slot/compartment so you can put things in.
