I went out this noon for lunch at Filinvest Festival mall riding on my Pajero. After lunch I started my car and to my surprise it doesn't crack. Of course the usual suspect would be a dead battery. So i took out the battery and bring it to Smart Price in West Gate alabang and have it check there by the store technician. The tech has digital battery tester and it read out "REPLACE THE BATTERY. My battery is Motolite GOLD. So I bought an ACDelco Battery worth 4199.50 with 2years warranty raw. After installing the battery the car went broooom, one click. Grabe ganun pala battery ng Pajero walang kaabog-abog bigla na lang dead. Just want to share my experience.

Ganun ata talaga Pajero. Once started kasi, it does not rely much on the battery unlike more modern vehicles kaya hindi mo mapapansin if may problem na. Sa staring mo lang talaga usually malalaman. Yung speed ng starter ang clue mo. Kapag humihinina ang battery, pansin mo medyo hindi ganun kabilis pihit ng starter.
I also switched to non-MF batteries para mas madali mamonitor ang condition.

Maraming nagrereco na papukpok ko na lang daw. Anyways, I think dun ko na lang sa Alex pagagwa. I heard a lot of good things about them.
On a related note, good news for 4M40 peeps. Mas mura glow plug natin kesa 4D56 glow plugs. OEM is P450 per piece lang. Pero mukhang mas matibay yung pang 4D56. the 4M40's plug is the narrow tipped one.
I experienced hard starting during mornings, replaced the plugs and everyhting went smooth. One click start on a cold morn.
I rechecked the replaced plugs, two were still functional while hte other two were busted.

HI PK, I visited the Alex (ISIP??) shop once ang ganda nga ng mga gawa nila. But I opted to have my civic done on other shop medyo pricey kasi but I was not satisfied with what I got. If the need comes around again siguro baka kay alex na rin ako.
4M40 OEM Glow plug-450 pesos lang. Where did you get that? I replaced mine mid last year for a price of 1050 per piece from El Dorado. Sigurado kang OEM yan?

Hi PK, Mine has reduced glow-end body as compared to the screw-end. So there are basically two thickness along the body span. Anyway, saan store mo yan nabili for future reference.

April 18th, 2005 04:38 PM #460hmmmm, interesting question, i think all pajero owners and other diesel rides would benefit if an experiment was done.
i would think that it would have an effect, now the question is that if it is big enough to notice over, say, a full tank of diesel, i am not too sure.
