So saan galing yung balita na you can shift P to R without stepping the brake pedal?

..went to that page.
...read 'em all. twice or thrice, slowly.
conclusion: not everybody has the same written communication skills.
OT.
Pwede talaga mag shift without stepping on the brakes sa gen2 Monty 2009-2012 model. Sa VGT model(2012-onwards) lang na naka mesh grill nagsimulang maglagay ang Mitsu ng mechanism na kailangan naka-apak sa brakes before shifting.
As an answer to the SUA issue, Mitsubishi PH offered to install those mechanisms to older Monteros for free. Nabalita ito sa lahat ng media, ewan ko lang kung lahat pumunta at nagpakabit haha.

Default behavior of a Filipino driver after an accident:
Kamot ulo.
Excuses are born out of failure.
kawawa mitsubishi dito..... bagsak sales target nila sa montero....
ginagawa pa katatawanan.....
ituloy na kasi yung test parameters na napagusapan.... ano ba kinakatakot..... meron ba mabubulgar pag natuloy yun...
ang "kamalian" bow 🤡

If that is the case.. there goes the problem for monty and mitsubishi should address the design flaw..
I have a theory that these drivers involved in these SUA cases were holding the shift stick while in motion.. any jolts introduced by sudden brake or mere acceleration will make the shifter move.. if you rest your hand on the shifter, abrupt braking can move it to reverse.. when you press accelerator... SUA going reverse still holding the shift stick bacause of shock.. the force of impact will move the accelarator to drive then there you go again.. back and forth
Consumer Reports has a couple of guides on what to do in case of unintended acceleration happens to any car...
Note:
Pumping brakes when SUA is happening...will actually disable power assist braking...and aligns to what the driver of the montero involved in the recent accident...
Toyota's modified power assisted braking because of the SUA their models suffered from before. per CR
Kahit ung xwind na matic and old gen everest ganyan din setup, walang brake switch activated na shift lock solenoid sa gear lever, pero ala pa ko nakita nag viral sa sa FB nag SUA. Though of course iba ang gas / brake pedal setup nila vs monty and ecu and wiring na rin.. hehe..
May mga oto na need mo push shift lever if going from N to D and vv like the new everest.
^^This only applies to GAS engine cars since it gets its vacuum from intake manifold. Toyota USA = all gas powered.
Sa diesel engine cars like monty and others, di applicable yan. Kabaliktaran nangyayari, you actually get more braking assist since vacuum pump is connected sa engine, hence higher RPM, higher vacuum assist.
The 3rd gen monty has that feature na. It will cut power to engine if sabay mo inapakan gas ang brake. Also, a log will be recorded in the ECU of the event. My 2005 hyundai crdi actually has that feature already. Although, I hate it since during spirited driving, I always do left foot braking...
Merry Christmas!!!
