    aba! biglang humarurot!
i stepped more, the noisier the engine!
buti na lang, a little voice at the back of my head whispered, "Step on the other break pedal to the left of what you're stepping on now!"
    whew!
to this day, i swear i was stepping on the break pedal and not the gopedal.

that particular model was, according to some authors, known for the engine-power-sapping ability of the cvt. in retrospect, this saved me.
saved by a guardian angel doc also saved by the cvt's design. good thing it whispers to you that time.

"Step on the other break pedal to the left of what you're stepping on now!" - was it the foot operated style handbrake? does cedia has this kind of handbrake?

    nopo.
that car's handbreak is the traditional hatakin-type to the right of the driver.
    dalawa lang ang pidal.

    but in my innova AT,
the notion of mis-stepping never happened.

    analyzing hard...
    i dunno.
    driving ergonomics...?

Yung mga makakapal na weather mats ngayon ay prone to getting the accelerator stuck in the Montero/Strada.

I had a Similar STrada/Montero Model before and used to have those thick 3M mats, ilang beses rin siya na stuck sa accelerator pedal but never naman umaarangkada yung pick-up dahil apak agad ako brakes and hindi siya umabante.

no offense but an AT is an idiot proof just like apple, one pedal, same foot, left is brake where it usually located and right is go on which it is also is usually located and no where else...

pero bakit majority monstero ang SUA, kase mura...

driving is a skill that is not for everyone, its only for those who can pass the test (license)...

eto din naiisip ko, the price was really right back then. So bili agad mga elders and mga biglang talon sa matic coming from manual so akala nila tatlo ang pedal tendency inapakan ang accelerator instead of brakes

    good question.
do we have epidemiology re. local SUA drivers?
are they majority matatanda? lalake? babae? or are they from all walks of life?

    an acquaintance thought out loud,
"are these retirees, who opted to purchase the car of their dreams, using their retirement money?"

    having experienced it myself,
i believe some actually believed they were stepping on the breaks at that time.
i'm a staunch believer in "wrong reflex syndrome".

    alas, the evidence is irrefutable.

kuripot ako, much to my spouse's discomfort.
    "three pees before flushing."
but i would flush it, when i think wifey is coming down soon.

If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down!

ito ang mahirap maintindihan pag AT ang sasakyan nila... di ba dapat nakaapak sa preno bago makapag shift to drive? tapos preno pa rin ang apak pag aalis na sa parkingan.

it is a good safety procedure,
but alas, some motor vehicles may not require it.

    but my initial thoughts remain,
"is the monstero really predisposed to sua?"
is the vehicle somehow predisposed to it, or is it the drivers that are predisposed to it?

Kung galing sa N, pwede. Pero if from P, hindi pwede.
