bakit umatras.... umurong bahyag.... may tinatago eh....

This video on Mr. Bernardo's post clearly shows you can stop their so called SUA by stepping on the brake pedal (the real one that is). Immediately as soon as the brake lights lit up the said montero stopped to a standstill. Mitsubishi Montero Sport SUA Info Group Public Group | Facebook

kaya possible maapakan nila talaga gas pedal instead of brake when sudden engine surge [emoji100] kaya pag ganyan they always step on the brake first before changing gears on automatic model[emoji4]

    I've heard about this din...

All contributing factors to set the user up for failure.

Pero my current conclusion is that in the end, it's still a human pushing the pedals, pwera nalang kung nag stuck yung accelerator by itself.

The machine should be smart enough to somehow prevent the user from erring. A typical example is the bell when you turned off the engine with your headlights on.

i was also SUA a few years ago.
it was a newly acquired, used car, and i was making maneuver, when...SUA!

to this day, i believe in my heart of hearts, that i was stepping on the brake pedal, because that is what my mind told me.

and yet, buti na lang something else inside me, said that i had another brake pedal to the left of the brake pedal.
and that is what i panickedly moved my right foot to.

it saved me from crashing into mom's prize bonggabilya.

thinking back then, the only other thing i can remember vaguely, is that the driver's seating position in that car was so very comfy...

Or better the vehicle to emit distinct sound if you are pressing the gas or the brake pedal? Or a confirmation voice to validate your action like, a voice warning "You are stepping on the gas pedal, do you wish to continue"
No vehicles in different make are desjgn alike, its the responsibility of the driver to read the manual , familiarize with the vehicle before driving it.

You cannot just shift from P to R, you have to press the deadman switch below the gear knob before you can move the lever. You cannot also start it if the gear is not at P. Eventhough it has no brake switch , almost all training manuls for driving AT always require you to press the brake pedal when changing gears from D R P vice versa, in complete stop.
