but when i travelled from manila to pilar, sorsogon on sept. 2009, mga P2,500 ang gas expenses ko using unleaded gas. matipid ang galant sa highway at 60-140 kms/hour speed. As compared to my friend's toyota fortuner 3.0 diesel, mga P3,000-P3,500 yata yong fuel expenses nya with the same trip nong time na yon.

Tire Pressure - 32 psi front and back; ang tagtag na sa 34psi, may portion sa Bataan road na hindi maganda kaya 32psi tamang tama lang

    Feb 2011 Update:
    Usinng Royal Purple
    Tire Pressure - 32psi

    60% - Highway
40% - City (encountered heavy Traffic while going to Ortigas on a typical Monday Rush Hour)
Speed - 80Km - 100km -- I am now stepping lightly on the gas pedal; mahal nanaman ng crudo I have tested na namann ng power ng steed ko when needed..

Hit a 14.01km/liter -- galing, before mga 11.30km/liter ako if ma traffic sa Manila but this time a good FC even for heavy traffic; sympre light on the gas pedal helps in getting a good FC.

My ride is a lancer 2000mx. Depending on driving habits, I can get my fc reach about 7.9 km/l on city driving. For shell unleaded gas users, I would suggest trying the petron xtra unleaded. Based from experience and experimentation, the petron brand makes my car more responsive. Mas maramdaman yung hatak sa petron xtra unleaded than the shell counterpart. Just try it and feel the difference.

Also i have heard someone saying that by installing a catalyctic converter i could lower down consumption. By the way, my pajero has a 2.8l engine.
mine is a 1992 model with a 4D56 engine and it drinks a lot of diesel... it consumes 3kms per liter! and even surpassed old model V8 engines!

there's something wrong with your engine. a M/T 4d56 should do 8km/l easily.
