Same as mine my garmin 255w has the altitude info as well, and the barometric pressure.

But it would have been better if its automatically adjusted already or can be done with just a simple calibration, my Protrek and suunto watch both has barometer, compass, and altimeter. The protrek was automatically calibrated and is 99% accurate if I will based it on the results given by google earth, garmin satnav I am using.

If the atmospheric pressure changes you have to reset it as with any barometric altimeter, simple as that. The Casio Protrek has to be calibrated/reset before journeys just like any other barometric altimeter. The fact that you find it accurate is because the MSL atmospheric pressure at your location was same as the time before. In The Philippines the atmospheric pressure does not usually vary a lot; but it does vary.

Every time you get on a PAL or Cebu pacific flight, the pilot feeds the QNH (pressure at MSL) into the altimeter; and and also gets this QMH (or QFE) from the tower before he lands (as the pressure in Manila can be different than say Cebu).

Let me explain a little more simply. A barometer measures pressure, but that pressure cannot be converted to altitude unless you know the pressure at MSL or you actually feed it the altitude itself. You need one of the pieces of information fed in to set an altimeter (either altitude or QMH).

The garmin is a different story altogether as it uses information/distance/time calculation on triagulation from satellites to determine actual altitude.

Dapat kasi sir kapag brand new meron nang nakakabit niyan sa windshield AFAIK. Request mo na lang din sa SA. Sabihin mo na ayaw mo ng hassle na paparahin ka palagi.

there's a conduction sticker but you must have a conduction permit. ang hassle if BUAYA yung naka pull over sa iyo!

VGT owners, are there still very visible white/light smoke coming out?

I once saw a brand new no plate # yet GLS 2.5 4x2 (non vgt) coming out of the Otis dealer and it was spewing out very visible white smoke as it accelerated ahead.

yun rear garnish has clips on the underside, same clips with the rear bumper plus 3M tapes sa taas. Suggest not to use the tapes that comes with the package, use the heavy duty 3M tapes instead...

Same problem with my friend's Monty (non-vgt) but the white smoke was gone after the 1k PM...

Sir, a freshly baked bread got out from the oven emits smoke, a freshly baked new engine also smits smoke. Sa akin bumubuga din pero a less dense white smoke tuwing start ko sa engine during early in the morning lang. Meaning to say "nasa kalamigan pa ng makina".

Don't worry sir, you should be thankful, dahil ang cooling effect timing ng clutch fan ng makina nyo ay to the max ang capacity......just imagine while in stationary position at naka-andar...kaya nyang i-drop at palamigin ang temperature ng makina nyo at a given time.

If you are still in doubt, you should patiently wait until you will reach the break in run of 1000 KM, dahil mag-palit ka na ng diesel oil. Pero you should demand for a "synthetic diesel oil supplied by casa of course". After the synthetic diesel oil is loaded, start the engine car still is in stationary position.........observe.........and hopefully the result ay, mawala na sana yan.

congrats sir to your new ride, so it is really fuel efficient talaga, maybe above 16 km per liter of diesel. Enjoy your ride.

Good Eve Tsikoteers. I travelled from Manila to Urdaneta, Dagupan, San Fernando La Union, and back to Manila. Total fuel consumed 64.3Liters, with total Kilometer travelled of 687kms (798-111kms). So nag average lang ako ng 10.68km/L

My ride is a week old 2.5l 4x2 monty. Hope consumption will improve after the first 1000kms PMS...

Ganyan rin yung 4 montero sport GLS 2.5 4x2 (non-vgt) ang nakita kong mausok while in stationary mukhang bagong labas lang sa casa yung isa pero yung 3 with plate number na mausok pa rin kahit umaandar.
