Good day again! My SA told me that our montero is covered by 3year warranty on rust proofing... took some pix of underchassis and it looks that no rust proofing is done... or its just that my idea of rust proofing is different? kasi ang alam ko parang rubberized ang rust proofing... see the pix guys

"Vehicles today are subject to rust and corrosion due to moisture, humidity, tons of road salt and other airborne pollutants that can cause rapid deterioration of your automobile. If neglected, the damages can make your automotive investment of little value. Although automotive Manufacturer's have improved the way vehicles are built, their efforts are not nearly enough to battle the damages of rust on automobiles.

Consider this, new vehicles undergo thousands of spot welds and numerous bends and folds during assembly. This process damages the automobile coating systems, exposing these panels to corrosion. Besides body-panel damage, certain mechanical parts are also at risk. Suspension mounts, hood-locking mechanisms, door hinges, brake cables, which are all susceptible to the damaging effects of rust on your automobile.
To protect your vehicle against corrosion our unique rust proofing formula that does more than just cover the metal is required. A rust proofing product must be applied as a high-pressured spray, ensuring protection to your vehicle's most critical areas by penetrating, displacing existing moisture and protecting the many vulnerable crevices of your automobile."
    (reff: http://www.rustblock.com/)

--So rust proofing is the tools or some high tech liquid to maintain your Monty to avoid any mental (the owner-owner will not worried for the resale value) and metal corrosion...

    * sir monterick: undercoat yung rubberized na nilalagay sa pang ilalim. Mga ilang SA's na rin napagtanungan ko, rust proofed na daw ang ilalim ng monty... but personally, I still prefer to get it undercoated.

Iba nga rustproofing sa factory versus undercoating. Ok yung 3M or yung sa Shell na pang-undercoat. Dapat gawin yang undercoating every start of the rainy season and after kung kaya din lang ng budget.

ang ganda sa Angel Eyes! that would be included in my wish list after ma expire na yung warranty sa monty!

sa mga SA, ask lang po ako. Same lang ba yung seat pattern sa 2010 monty at sa 2011? kasi magpa upholster ako ng leatherette outside sa CASA.

thanks so much! (gusto ko monday na!)

Good to note that Montero VGTs are already coming out. I'm sure it's all around the corner in the very near future :-)

For those who are kept waiting for their units, just shop around the many dealers. I was told some casa dealers are given bigger unit allocations than the others. I am not sure though about it. What's important is those who would like to buy the units can have them na without further delay.

I read many good SA's who have assisted fellow Monty owners. From our end, I'm happy with my SA (PJ Nubla) at Union Motors Paco. It's a fast transaction last Feb9 and we got the unit the next day. Should you be interested, you may visit Mitsubishi Paco and look for him.

    Marketing!

It's a 'Catch 22' situation when it comes to facelifts. If you change too much you risk offending owners of current model, and that is bad for long term business. IMO body changes should be so subtle that only owners or avid car fans would really notice.

This time round Mitsubishi have made major changes under the skin. The extra power together with MM3 touchscreen. Most users would prefer this than a few body modifications.

Before it's end of life they will probably make some minor body changes and they have the option to put 5speed A/T in the 4x2.

Sir, makisingit lang po kahit hindi ako Mitsu sales agent , pariho lang po seat pattern yong 2010 at 2011 model. Kong may time ka pakipuntahan mo nalang Ace Hardware sa alin man sa mga SM branches, they will help you at may samples sila doon na mapag-pilian mo at doon ako nag-order.

Did you get your order in? Did you ask them why they were not giving the P20k discount in line with the Manila dealerships. They still seem to be offering P20k off the 4x2 A/T

Is it true that the 4x4 GT-V will be delayed?.. I thought they are going to release it on the 4th week of February?

It's price has been announced today. Would expect the first batch to go out to the dealers for delivery next week.

*quartzbro: how much did u get the leatherette in ACE?

*expatio: mmm... they said that they convert the 20T to shipping and handling from the manila plant to here in the province.

this is the computation from my SA of the GLS V
    unit price = 1,423,000
    insurance = 39,017
    rust proof = 9,000
3M tint = 6,000 (their free tint is only a regular tint)

P1,477,017. nakaka inggit sa mga monty brothers from luzon who enjoyed good rates and freebies.

Yes.. strategic planning and it works.

Here comes now the VGT and the Montero is hot item again here.

Imagine that the VGT was released commercially by MHI way back in 2003. But other manufacturers/competitors were also among the first to utilize the MHI made VGT while MMC continued to use the existing mass produced conventional turbos and its only now that the 4d56 is fitted with VGT.

After the VGT, the next in line would be the newly developed/innovated 2-stage turbo that promises better torque at low rpm (1000-1250rpm); an over 50percent increase in low-rpm-torque compared to the VGT. Maximum torque is at around 1250rpm while the current VGT is at 2000rpm.

Match the low-rpm-maximum-torque with 4x4 technology, it would then be the real "mountain warrior". But it might be released in 2-3 years time or even later so just enjoy the VGT version for now.
