i have never been a fan of the lancer since the day i can remember... but this new lancer... this one could include me among its followers...

Been to the launch this morning and rushed to the tent to do the test drive, luckiliy, wala pang pila, he-he-he, 10 am pa daw ang test drive, pero medyo mapilit din ako kaya they allowed me at 9:30 am.

Test drive options range from MX to GT-A. Meron red na GTA and I believe its a USDM spec GTA, sabi nung test drive marshall japan specs daw, pero left hand drive sya, they need to get ther facts correctly. It has the fast key option as well as the keyfob, pero hindi ko na na try kasi I've finished my turn on the test drive.

opinions....
- Ganda, looks better in person, he-he-he
- 4B11 engine sound....sounds good, tamed but growly on high end of torque
- CVT was responsive then again, test drive route was too short. maikli, you just get to go around the left wing parking lot. I had to haggle with the marshall for another turn around the block, he agreed, kasi wala pang nakapila.
- Accelaration was there, pero hindi ko masyado ma appreciate kasi maikli yung route.
- Steering was responsive I had to ask the marshall if I can do the hard turns and quick left to right ala F1 and I did not experience any dips, hope Niky can check it more.
- suspension was responsive and "supple" but on the comfortable side.
- GTA (CVT) * 1,125,000 has 7 airbags, RF sound system, paddle shifters, 18 inch wheels (and same wheels for the spare tire)
- GT (manual) * 1,018,000 has 3 airbags, OEM 6 disc in dash sound sytem, 18 inch wheels (and same wheels for the spare tire). I guess the difference of 107,000 came from the RF system, CVT w/ paddle shifters and airbags.
- MX (CVT) * 990,000, dont have the chin, foglights, sideskirt and the humongous rear spoiler (but it has a lip spoiler), 18 inch wheels (it has 16 inchers and steel rims for spare), 2 airbags (front) but it has CVT with the paddle shifters.
*** All models have EBD, ABS, BA (Brake Assist), Projector lamps/AFS (Adaptive front lighting system) and headlamp leveller while GTA/GT have as bonus, rain (and light) sensors.

Side note, I liked the faux carbon fibre trims as well as the seating comfort but plastic was everywhere. I noticed the trunk and gas lid toggle did looked cheap.

For the test drive, I got to have a pen and a lanyard with lancer Ex markings.

They have an offer of 10,00 discount :D

For mitsu fans, you'll get to see lancers from L type to lancer ilongs and even old skool galants (2 door).

Same here...at least dadami spare parts na for this platform...was planning to use the chrome handles from the Lancer with the Outie...

Loved the styling...really aggressive (compared to the Toyota) but not overly done (like the Civic)...now if only Mitsu would bring in the Colt...

been there last night. the new lancer seems promising and i think it is worth every penny to buy this car. but im just basing my opinion in looks and brochures because i did not test drove it.

I test drove the RED Lancer EX GT-A last Saturday... kaso traffic sa paligid ng MOA di ko mahataw ng maayos. Of all the Midsize 2.0L cars that i've driven certainly this one's the best! Im not good at rating or analyzing car performance but based on my driving experience it was like im only playing with the car. Handling was good, engine was sooo quiet, great sound system, i love the 18" rims, striking exterior looks... a REAL HEADTURNER! =)~~

That would be the "knee airbag" located somewhere below the steering column.

The GT-A also has one, notice it has 7 airbags instead of 6.
