Ano pong engine sound? Tulad din po ba nung sa Outlander 3.0 V6? If they sound similar then this (Lancer)>>>civic>altis.

I must admit I don't like how it looks when I first saw it but now it's starting to grow on me.

Although I haven't heard the engine of the new Lancer let alone seen one, but its a 2000cc 4 cylinder engine. I doubt it would sound lke a V6....

The lancer GT has the earphone jack sa may compartment na area below the head unit and aircon.

This is the test drive unit. Not sure kung meron sa retail unit.

How's the power of the 2.0L engine? I remember test driving the new Lancer a few months ago and parang sluggish sya. I mean maganda naman looks ng new Lancer but 2.0L engine definitely felt much weaker compared to the 2.0L Civic.

Are there good deals on the new Lancer? Knowing recent Mitsubishi pricing, I'm sure magkakaroon ng big discounts on this model very soon...

^^Could be because the Lancer is heavier than the Civic since its pretty much a Galant (bodywise) of yesteryears...

The 4B11 isn't a weak engine imo. It's powerful than that of the Civic 2.0L but the Lancer has more weight by 100kgs + more.

    Lancer's 4B11
    155ps 199Nm

    Civic 2.0 S
    153ps 192Nm

Civic gets a better power-weight ratio.

And sometimes that is what you need to get the better acceleration and the better fuel economy... the power-to-weight ratio that is...

Yes, I don't expect the Lancer to get the best fuel economy because you're always carrying 7 airbags, a 950 watts sound system, etc. But I should expect that the fuel economy is within the average compact sedan figures and not mid-size sedan figures.

The manual version is a better in weight though. Many people thinks this is a Galant because it's called Galant Fortis in Japan. Imo, it was called the Galant Fortis because the design resembles the old generation Galant.

I hope they'll make some improvements on the Lancer EX and maybe what's lacking for now maybe available by the next few months, eg. Leather seats, power locks, etc... and hopefully lower their prices. Ahihihihi! LOL

Sir Drey, afternoon ka pala nagpunta, meron din kasing naka D40 can during the morning. Again, nice pics.

Sir ianmitsulancer, meron yatang up/dn power window sa driver side, just need to tug it further up or further down. And I agree with you medyo di pulido ang moves nila sa "options" na included. Gya nag sabi ni Sir Drey, AFL is a nice touch, kasama ng projector lamps with manual leveler, pero tingin ko di naman gaano kamahalan pag ilagay nila ang central locking button.

Tsaka yung "fast key" option, sana linagay din nila.

The engine sound low rpm is really really silent if youre inside the cabin, but at high rpm you can hear a toned down growl, but a growl nonetheless. Compared with a an Outlander V6? he-he-he, the 6 cyliner engine is much more refined than that of an inline 4, so the lancer at high rpm sounds better.

Regarding the power to weight ratio, it should be better than most compacts car and I believe it is better than that of the 1.6 L mazda 3/1.8L civic. Maliban din siguro sa price from importing engines from europe, hindi din siguro ok na imate ang 1.5L sa new lancer kasi masyadong mabigat, at fuel consumption will be worst than that of the 2.0L, gaya ng mazda 3 1.6L vs 2mazda3 2.0L. I think a better option will be the 1.8L and a 2.0L turbo diesel engine (outsourced from VW?), di ba both available sa europe din?

Kaya ang ginawa nila, they put the old lancer ilongs as low end models at 1.6L as GLX and GLS. By the way, they are selling at 665K and 725K at 50K discount bringing the price down at 615K and 675K.

    Lancer's 4B11

    Civic 2.0 S
    153ps 192Nm

Civic gets a better power-weight ratio.
    Lancer EX's 4B11
    Power: 155 PS * 6000 rpm
    Torque: 199 Nm (20.3 kg-m) * 4250 rpm
Curb weight: 1355 kg (GT M/T), 1385 kg (GT-A CVT)

    Civic 2.0 S's K20
    Power: 155 PS * 6000 rpm
    Torque: 188 Nm (19.2 kg-m) * 4200 rpm
    Curb weight: 1295 kg

I just wonder how the Lancer's INVECS III CVT(with 6 virtual gear settings) compares to the Civic's 5-speed A/T?

if they will be shifting production of the Lancer EX here the price better drop to at least 800k. Mas konti na ang tax ang labor costs pag ganun and it might give the mitsu plant here a major boost. The engine shipped from japan, the rest dito inaassemble, and low price (though dati martial law kaya super expensive nya haha)

hi there... i was with sir drey walking around the parking lot na parang mga tourista kami!

in all honesty- wala pong auto-up! auto down lang po . full effort ko tinaas yung window with the switch and it retracted as soon as i let go of it in the middle of lifting it. yes sir, if you could see how much is it to add the central locking button a lot of would be lancer ex owners would appreciate it.

Yes, the Lancer ilongs are still on sale because Thailand is still willing to sell them po. they are aimed at the City/Vios class now and it is definitely a better buy versus the Sentra 1.3!

i really cant understand the logic in mitsu's part not putting the central locking system.... daming gadgets na included pero yung most practical na lock system wala... weird...

    Hello po mga sir!

Kakatapos ko lang po mag ojt sa prod'n eng'g sa mitsu, and according to one of the managers there is a huge possibility of assembling the lancer here. These are the products they have long been waiting for to give a major boost to the cainta plant.

As for the cainta plant being outdated, hindi po naman yata, underutilized maybe, imho there is nothing different between assembling an adventure and the new lancer as long as the necessary tooling is used, because assembly operations lang naman. as to what i have seen, the plant is 100% capable of churning out these babies.

OT. sir ian taga mitsu po ba kau? haha just curious. kudos to mmpc, i learned a lot!

Kung wala ngang power window up, lets add it to the most wanted/needed features sa lancer including central lock.

No Prob sir drey, as long as hindi super confidential... hehehe

One of my bosses said they tested the lancer hi way driving it got 13-15 kpl, and motioncars quotes 9 kpl mixed. Is that average fc? I'm convincing my dad to get a lancer instead of an altis.
