AFAIK, the current Lancer 1.6 GLX M/T and GLS CVT models are the upgraded/facelifted versions introduced earlier in April with a price of 615 and 675 respectively. the previous versions that you mentioned had a higher price of i think close to 630k. i hope this answers your question.

as for the CVT, i will leave that to Drey's recent post here... comparing the 2007 Lancer GT with the 2008/Present Lancer GT-A has a big improvement with the CVT. Other contributing factors to this is also the improved and lighter engine (on a heavier body though... hehehe)

For some reason the JDM models don't come with a standard rear wing(optional)... and it actually looks good without the rear wing.

Would some of you know if one could order a replacement bumper similar to the pics above?

I got my GTA 2 weeks ago, on a friday afternoon. The next morning, my wife suddenly woke me up and told me that our neighbor's car accidentally hit the Lancer. My wife was a bit hysterical, and our neighbor's wife was trying to calm us down by assuring us that they'll pay for the damages and that the damage was small. I went down to take a look, and as it turned out, what she meant by "small" was 30 to 40 percent damage to the front bumper, not to mention possible damage to the gear (the car was pushed back by about a foot and a half) and the radiator. Wala pang 24 hours naka-park. Sa lahat ng araw na puwedeng ipagawa ng neighbor namin yung faulty brakes nila, yun pa ang napili nilang araw. I had no choice but to bring it to my folk's new house that is still being renovated, and leave it there until the replacement bumper arrives. Kaso, nakaka-inip na, I want to have it fixed right away, more than a week ko na siyang hindi nagagamit kasi. Baka may alam kayong puwedeng orderan ng bumper. Ok lang kahit mahal, para magtanda yung kapitbahay namin.

im trying to see the root cause for the Lancer EX GT-A's overweightedness! considering that the body dimensions is NOT to much of a difference from outgoing 1.6/2.0 Lancer, the 2.0 4B11 engine weights lighter than the 4G63... hindi pa sya AWD! hmm...

You kidding? It's a LOT bigger than the outgoing car.
About 3 inches longer, 1.5 inches wider and an inch taller.
Wheelbase a whole inch longer too. That's a lot of metal.

It's so big, in fact that it exceeds the 8G Galant "shark" (which was a pretty big car) in both width and height, and equals it in wheelbase. The Galant stays longer, but then it did have rather long bumpers.

is CVT really useful and effecient? what does is stand for po? ano gamit? more economical in terms of fuel consumption lang po ba?

Just bought a refreshed 2008 Lancer Glx for 615k plus free LTO, 3M ful tint etc. I am not sure if you can get the same price in Cebu.

Wow Sir kainis talaga yun ganyan incident. Nadala mo na ba sa Mitsubishi Casa dyan malapit sa inyo? It would probably be hard to find a bumper that resembles yang ralliart version .

if i were to buy this car, i'd remove the rear wing and change the wheels. imo, it will still look good rollin on 17s. not only will it decrease my FC it will increase my ride comfort and maybe even reduce road noise coming from the wheels.

I got my GTA yesterday. I think gusto ko tanggalin yung spoiler and change it to a ductail spoiler lang pero siguro next year na lang. Ang uunahin ko tanggalin is yung side mouldings sa pinto. Yung pic nung ralliart sa taas walang moulding e.

Question lang. Ganun ba talaga yung audio controls sa steering. When you press the up or down buttons sa tuning, nag scan sya ng frequencies rather than switch to the preset stations that you have? Di ko pa kasi nababasa manual e.

Just picked up our new EX MX. From what I can see, all the stuff is the same vs the GT-A except for:

1) body kit
2) rear disc brakes
3) Rockford Fosgate stereo
4) Mags
5) aux in
6) additional 5 airbags

Initial driving impressions:

1) More than adequate power. No need to use the paddle shifters.
2) Suspension quite firm, but not thrashy
3) Great looks, head turner

Sir, built-in aux input na ang EX, malapit siya sa lighter. may rubber flap lang kaya hindi halata. Hope this helps.

Bro, yung GT-A yata meron. Pero yung MX wala yata. Na-flashlight ko na yung buong gitna ng dash wala akong makita. Mas okey kasi yung aux in kesa yung FM transmitter. . .

Grabe, hindi ko man lang na-enjoy imaneho nang walang plaka, hehehe. Hindi ko talaga ginamit eh, iniwan ko na lang muna sa vacant garage ng parents ko tapos pinapa-start ko na lang everyday sa driver namin. Thanks to those of you who were shocked and concerned, hehehe.

OT: ianmitsulancer, sino yung friend mo na naka-trabaho ko? Hehe, medyo pahirapan din talaga makapasok sa dos ngayon, pero I'm sure you're happy with whatever it is you're doing now. Puro stressed tao sa'min eh. Kaya super-stressed ako ngayon kasi iniisip ko yung GTA ko.
