During the test i really had to floor it, or have to put in sports mode to really feel the pull.

Also, was thinking if its worth the extra 200k for the upgrade to the 2.5L AWD.

Thank you guys in advance! Hope i can hear from you soon

My wife got the pre facelift AWD cx-5 last year, for me at that time the price difference between the 2.0 and 2.5 was worth it ( plus at that time the AWD only has the 50% down 0% interest ). This time, looking at their online brochure the AWD differs only on the engine, transmission, wheel size, sunroof, BOSE sound system and keyless entry. Parang mas sulit si 2016 2.0, ang dami panu nadagdag sa kanya compared to the AWD.

if you're concerned that the 2.0 variant is lacking in horses, i think you should go for the 2.5 if money is not an issue

If you're concerned with power, get a Forester XT.

The cvt oil change from subaru dealers are nuts. All the fc gains completely negated.

For 1.7m the cx5 is the best in class imo. Worry free maintenance for 3 yrs with the exception of that 15/20k battery.

    Fully loaded japanese made kodo.

No doubt the CX5 is cheaper to buy and run. But the FXT is much faster and much more spacious, and to me, more good looking.

The CX5 2.5 on the other hand isn't all that convincing over the 2.0, save for the rims. I'd get a 2.0 CX5 instead, then look for 2.5 rims. Only thing I don't like with the 2.0 is that its long second gear means low-speed overtaking is awkward, but if you overtake from 60 kph upwards, it's peppy enough.

Mazda CX-5 looks better than the Subaru Forester. The old Subaru Forester looked better than the current one.

Hmmm. . .I can't blame rollyic. Maybe he tested the 2.0 Tucson CRDi variant.

Maximum power of 177 ps is achieved 4000 rpm compared to the 155 ps at 6000 rpm of the 2.0 CX-5.

Maximum torque of 392 N-m achieved as early as 1800 rpm compared to the 200 N-m at 4000 rpm of the 2.0 CX-5.

You will really feel the kick once you step on the pedal. Even if its an AT, the response is like driving a MT.

    Im here in qatar.
I test drive the 2.5. Walang 2.0 ang car dealer dito.
    Mas malambot ang steering nya.
    Mas responsive ang engine.
    Mas tahimik.
    Mas maganda ang suspension.
Mas madaling lumamig ang A/C (kasi may air vent sya sa likod)

The only good side i like with cx5 is the BOSE speakers...ang sarap mag soundtrip while driving. 😉

Thank you for the response. Yeah mas marami na nga features with the 2.0 now, it was already okay. But i tried the 2.5 and i was really happier with how it responded. So i already reserved a 2.5. Just curious what is the average fuel consumption of your car?

Yes i agree that the FXT is more powerful and spacious but its almost 1.9M. As for the rims, if i were to buy those 19s plus the set of tires. won't i be spending close to 100k na for that?
yeah i get you with that feeling of shortness on overtaking especially when i was in edsa/white plains area.

60% na highway (NLEX) siguro sya and 40% city sa Manila/QC area

That is from a 2.5L engine. FC talaga ni CX5 ang happy ako ;). You can go with the flow or be more spirited in your driving without worrying if your FC will take a major hit.

Really good mixed FC driving for a 2.5L engine. My 1.6 MT Altis only averages 10.63 km/L on mixed driving, although my 40% city is always rush hour, while my highway driving is a mix of NLEX/SCTEX and OG Road/Roman Highway which aren't really high-speed, free flowing highway.

    Hi guys,

    Hows your cx-5s so far?

After much contemplation and research, im finally decided on getting the 2016 cx-5. Based on your experience would you still recommend buying this car? And which dealers would you recommend and which ones to avoid? And what discounts/freebies were included in the deal.

Im planning to get the soul red, for those with similar color, is it a pain to maintain?

    Would appreciate any feedback.

    Thanks!
