My dad just replaced all his tires after he wore them down to the wear markers. Aside from the malfunctioning driver-side mirror folding mechanism (got hit by a motorcycle) and a few minor rattles in the interior he says it still feels good as new.

So, it also suffers from interior rattles as the Subaru Forester. Thought Japan CBU units would be made better.

He wore down his stock tires in less than 3 years so I guess you can say it's not a city car.

thanks JohnM, im a little concerned about the rattling, is this a common issue with the cx-5? can other owners confirm if they also experience this with their ride?

btw, does the yojin3 apply only to the dealer where you bought your car? or you can avail of the service at any mazda dealer irregardless of where you purchased the unit?

I got the soul red....and yes, it is a bit hard to maintain specially if you are someone like me who seems to have microscopic eyes when it comes to my CX-5 ;)......but I tell you, I have no regrets whatsoever. SOUL RED is HOT!

Hi JohnM, im not sure if this apply to your model, i believe you were among the first ones who bought the cx-5, maybe this could help with the rattling:

also for those who are experiencing rattling/creaking noise, you may check on the attachment if it applies to your unit.

    Guys,

    How's your CX-5?

I just had a very bad experience with Mazda Quezon Ave.. The pictures attached were taken just last night after arriving home. Since gabi na, syempre my headlights were ON. Then I saw the moist upon arriving home maybe after about 30mins drive.

Actually this is the second time that this happened. The first time was 3-4 weeks ago when I noticed when I arrived home that there wast moist on both headlights after driving at night while raining. But then I thought siguro nga dahil sa ulan. But it happened again last night e hindi naman umuulan nung ginamit ko oto.

Just this morning, I brought the car sa QAve. And they were able to simulate the problem by turning the headlights on and hosing the car with water. Unfortunately both the service advisor and the warranty personnel (daw) claim that this is a normal scenario. Since mainit daw yung headlight at nalamigan nung tubig, normal lang daw na mag moist. WTF! Really!!! Wala ako talagang magawa kahit anong explanation gawin ko. Ganun na lang ba yun na I just should expect moist to buildup eveytime I turn the headlights ON while it's raining?!

Now I realize kung gaano kalaki ng difference ng after sales support ng Mazda compared to my suking Honda .

What do you think guys? Should I pursue for a headlight replacement? Any help and suggestions would be very much appreciated. Fyi, less than 1 year pa lang tong unit ko.

madaling makadilim ng headlight yan sir, kasi kung pinasukan ng moisture, pwede rin pasukan yan ng dumi kadi either may butas or lack ng pagkakaseal sa HL. one possible culprit though would be yung cover sa likod ng HL kung san pwede bunutin yung bulb. kasi kung di maganda pagkakasara, un ang possible pasukan nyan.

That's not normal. They should have replaced the headlights.

Guys, Yan din nga sabi ko, na hindi yan normal especially for a car less than 1 year old. Sadly It all fell to deaf ears.

I'm very much disappointed sa service ng qave e. This never happened to me dun sa katabing casa nila :p

Doesn't happen to my wife's CX5, although it happened a couple of times to my car. Maybe these sites can help you:

.....so unless it is water ingress that doesn't go away medyo mahihirapan ka mag claim

    thanks butchyboy, nice read.

Kaya lang, one of the suggestions sa article to get rid of moisture it to turn the headlight ON. Sa case ko, eto actually yung nagko-cause i.e. pag gamit yung headlights tsaka nagkaka fog

It really just annoys me that this never happens to my other car (and also to previous ones) which is waaayyyy older that the CX-5.

My Mazda sales agent advised me to raise the issue to Berjaya through a formal complaint which I did yesterday.

Oh well, let's see what happens.

I was looking at the CX-5 Maxx, and at 150k cheaper than the CX-5 Pro, I think it's a great buy! It's got the same 2.0 engine and 6-speed AT, 6 airbags, iStop and traction control. Basically, it's mechanically the same as the CX-5 Pro.

    You only lose the ff:
    - Leather seats (not a fan of leather in our hot climate)
    - Auto climate control (nice to have, but not a deal-breaker)
    - HID (halogen is enough unless you've got extra dark tint)
    - Bluetooth (very useful, but livable even without it)

It's basically like choosing between an Altis G and Altis V.

you also lose the mzd connect based head unit. afaik the maxx variant uses the pre-facelift head unit

^^^ the headunit in the pre facelifted is a bane to the otherwise decent bose sound system. It always plays the first song on your list every time you start the car, it doesn't remember what song was last played. Imagine hearing the same song over and over again every time you get on the car . Buti na lang nandyan si spotify . but the BT module sometimes tries to connect forever w/ my phone

Yup, I can live without phone connectivity in exchange for 150k. Sulit talaga unlike the awful Mz3 Maxx.

Are you sure the Mazda CX-5 Maxx also has 6 airbags? Maybe it has 2 airbags only?
