Pasig uses coolant. Binabantayan ko kasi during PMS. Kasama sya sa Yojin3.

Baka naman di ka pa low. There is a big space on top of the tank for thermal expansion. Check mo lang kung nasaan ang Full (F) mark. Don't go beyond that tatapon lang yan at sayang.

Kung mabilis maubos may problema ka sa cooling system. Yung isang kotse ko two years wala pa sa 1/4 ang nagamit na coolant for topup from my stock 1L bottle.

Anong gamit na coolant ng inyong M3's? Mine's getting low already...and since I'm a total newbie on cars, don't know what coolant to use. BTW, is coolant cost free for PMS 10k? I still have 2 more months before my next PMS though...baka di na umabot yung coolant ko. Mahirap na magoverheat

Buy a bottle of Mazda FL22 coolant for top up. Call to determine which dealerships stock em.

Don't wait for PMS if any of your fluid level is low. It's either FL22 or Absolute/Wilkins distilled for me, never tap.
For oil, it's fully synthetic Shell Helix 5w-30...not 40.

A repost on a common non-Mazda-specific possibility:

Sulfur odor at high speeds/steep climbs/spirited drives....
So what is that awful smell? It's hydrogen sulfide or H2S. Fart!!! It does not exist in the fuel nor oil, which is why you can't smell it at the gas station. It does, however, come from the gasoline. Almost all gasoline contains organic sulfur compounds with sulfur levels ranging from 30 to 100 parts per million, approximately.

As the fuel burns, the organic sulfur compounds break down into simpler compounds. If the engine is running lean (more air than is needed to burn the fuel), the sulfur is likely to be SO2, or sulfur dioxide. The catalytic converter can change this into SO3 (sulfur trioxide), which then reacts with the catalyst to form sulfates on the catalyst. Over several minutes there is a build up of sulfates. If the engine suddenly starts to run rich (not enough air to burn all the fuel), such as when you drive spiritedly, stop at a red light, climb a steep hill, or brake hard to slow down, the chemistry changes. Now the sulfates are unstable and they react to form hydrogen sulfide, which is expelled from the exhaust pipe all at once. The high concentration is the reason for the bad smell! This effect is a common problem with any new vehicle because the catalyst is working at a very high efficiency. However, as the catalyst ages, the activity drops. Fortunately for us, one of the first reactions to be affected is the formation of hydrogen sulfide. So as the catalyst gets older, the smell will go away. It should also be noted that many catalysts never smell bad. One reason might be because the vehicle doesn't run lean for much of the time, or perhaps the catalyst has an extra component that reduces the production of hydrogen sulfide.

Use it more often, it should go away as the kms pile up.....Hopefully, it's just the above.

I would advise against topping up with water. I never touched the coolant of my old honda and never had a prob with the cooling system for 10 years (honda recommends flushing the coolant only after 10 years or 200k KM, new mazdas are similar now) . With another old car, i tinkered with the coolant a lot - adding plain water often - and i had to replace the water pump twice, had leaks in the radiator, etc.

The reservoir is often less the max level. If your new M3 is consuming coolant, there might be a problem.

OE Factory-filled new engine:
10years/120k mi/192k kms
Subsequent fills:
Every 5yrs/60k mi/96k kms

I would advise against topping up with water. I never touched the coolant of my old honda and never had a prob with the cooling system for 10 years (honda recommends flushing the coolant only after 10 years or 200k KM, new mazdas are similar now) . With another old car, i tinkered with the coolant a lot - adding plain water often - and i had to replace the water pump twice, had leaks in the radiator, etc.

The reservoir is often less the max level. If your new M3 is consuming coolant, there might be a problem.

Should you fill with water, always choose PURE DISTILLED that we all can drink. Never mineral nor tap.

i always do 3 things during PMS:
1) remind the SA to rotate the tyres - this is an SOP on all PMSs but doesnt get done unless I explicitly request for it. I experience this with other casas and I suppose it's the same with Mazda
2) check the dipstick after the oil change to ensure that they dont overfill the engine with oil - a bit less than max is ok, over the max will damage your engine/transmission
3) ensure that they dont put water in the radiator and/or coolant reservoir - this is a bad habit of the Shell service boys

They change your air & cabin filters....free. Go in w/ a full tank, buy & pour in a bottle of this:

And keep a bottle of FL22 coolant for top up. Never let em top your rad & wiper reservoirs w/ tap water, always the proper fluids or distilled water as discussed earlier above....

Guys question sa 20k pms.. Inalok ako ng decarbonize ng sasakyan.. Di kasama sa yojin.. Worth 4k daw.. Di ko muna pinatos at magtatanong muna... Any inputs sir? Tska kasama ba sa yojin pagpalit ng spark plugs? Ang nakalagay kasi sa service, inspect lang hehe. Though 4.7k pa lang takbo ni m3... Thanks sa inputs

Yep, 4k ang decarbonization. Offer din nila ito sa akin nung 20k PMS ko 2 weeks ago pero nag-decline ako. Sabi ko, at 30k PMS nalang para sakto nasa around 20k na ang tinatakbo ng M3 ko. Yung sa spark plugs, alam ko di na kasama yan sa Yojin 3 kasi isa sa mga consumables yan pero don't worry matagal naman bago mapalitan yan.

Too early to change spark plugs. Best and most fun way to decarbonize engine is by Italian tuning.

Kung maganda naman ang sunog, it could be at least 50k km before you change plugs. Yung sa Lancer ko I think once lang ako nangpalit ng plugs, nung 2008 nung binili ko ng 2nd hand (wherein pinalitan ko timing belt at water pump). Nagpalit na ako ng timing belt nung 2011, pero yun pa rin ang plugs ko. Nilinis at chineck lang yung gap tapos binalik din ng mekaniko since maganda naman daw sunog.

Anong yung gagawin sa decarbonization? Kung additive lang parang mahal naman for P4k. Mas maganda pa nga yung Itlaian tuneup, mas masaya pa hehe.
