    Quick question guys...

Need to buy a set (4 pcs) of 245/40R18 tires. Am trying to choose between:

    1. Accelera
    2. Achilles
    3. Neuton

I believe these are made in Thailand/Indonesia (not China) and are more or less in same price range (P4,400 - P5,400).

Any feedback (good or bad) from folks who have used these tires?

    Thanks in advance.

if no data available.. base your decision on UTQG treadware and traction grades. I prefer lower treadware numbers. its grippier. tires on my car last a year anyways.

I've used Achilles and Neutons na. From my experience, Neutons are harder to come by. Achilles mas marami sellers. I was on a set of Achilles ATR sport dati then for some reason nag-shred ung front tires. So I switched to Neutons NT 5000. So far so good naman. So ako, either of the two brands okay ako. Siguro whichever is cheaper na lang.

Don’t get Achilles ATRs. Mine had bulges in the inner side wall after 18 months.

The Achilles ATR Sport is a bad tire model. If you need Achilles tires for daily driving, get the 2233. This is roughly the same level as the Neuton NT5000 and Accelera Phi.

If you need very grippy tires (grippier than Bridgestone Potenzas or Yokohama Advans), get the Achilles 123S. Outstanding track tire although it wears out very easily.

I used Accelera Alpha on the Fiesta. Oks naman, better than the Hankook Optimo which came stock on the car.

is it the tire, or is it the over-inflating user?

I kept my tires at a constant 32 psi checked each week. My other tires have never bulged the same way the ATRs did.

2 of them lang. But I decided to replace all 4 since I lost confidence in them all together.

I’ve had other low profiles that were set to 32. None of them had the same issue

I use 32 for ALL the 18" tires I've ever used. No lumps whatsoever.

The ATR Sport is an awful tire and there's a lot of negative feedback on it - poor grip, poor durability, poor build quality. Which is why Achilles released the ATR Sport 2 soon after, because the ATR Sport was such a dud.

Even Mang Ben, owner of Ben's OK, adviced me to go for the cheaper 2233 even if he'd make more money with the more expensive ATR Sport because he's gotten bad feedback about it from customers.

Just because it hasnt happened.. doesnt mean it wont.

Honda suggests 35F33R for the CTR and on the Civic Sport 235/40/18s

    Should we follow Honda?

So there is no other reason the tire failed except for the 32 psi?

Can’t you accept that the ATR was a shitty product?

Also, my car isn’t a Honda. i followed my car’s tire pressure guidelines. Should I follow Honda even though I don’t have a CTR?

32psi causing the bulge?.. its the weight of the car that compresses the side wall..so hard that the rim slices thru aome parts of the wall..

only reason you had a buldge is the bad roads.

    Semi OT:

    Kung mahilig sa "Rubber-shoes"

Jordan man or lebron, at mas mataas or ibang brand na mas mataas pa ang halaga..

Why not to buy a "Priority" Budget, & "quality tires"

Basta ako.. di baleng gumastos ng gulong, once na kalbo na ang tread or talagang maraming nang nadaanan lalo sa construction area at road worthy, even sa highway driving at merong foreign object damage(s)

If the only reason I had a bulge was the bad roads, then all my other tires should also have bulges.

I’ve had enough of this conversation, you are obviously trolling my posts. Please find something better to do.

Factory tire pressure recommendations factor in fuel efficiency besides load.
There are good & bad tires.

Low budget yet good quality tires
