Kia cebu was awarded by kia global as 2006 kia dealer. the marketing efforts of kia cebu is superb. evidence are the streets of cebu city. where ever u will go u can see sorentos, sportages, picantos and rios running the streets. not included those kia cars surplus from korea.

sir, do you know the fuel consumption and handling/suspension of the kia sportage. maybe po you know someone there in cebu who own a sportage. Ive testdrive one and found it matagtag and matigas handling. Accdg to jeanpierre bka mataas lang tire pressure.Unfortunately, cnt testdrive it again dahil the sportage was only brought here to our place from bulacan just for 1 day.The kia dealer here is new and they only had sorentos

same price pa din tucson (948 for gas at and 1.078 for crdi) but less 30k and free 3 yrs lto na aside frm the usual seatcover, matting and tint. wonder why they're giving this deal. d kaya maglalabas ng new variant e.g with safety features. also, accdg to 1 kia dealer maglalabas daw next month ng sportage crdi. di kaya natatakot hyundai dealers kaya nagbibigay sila promos

a few weeks ago, when i was choosing between tucson and sportage, one hyundai dealer we talked to was willing to give it less 50K (for 2 units) for the 2.0 gas A/T (1 for me, 1 for my officemate)...on the other hand, kia was only giving less 30K...

decided to get the sportage... yun officemate ko will be getting the tucson.

test drove one today from kia quirino... it did feel matagtag, maybe due to the tire pressure... parang the acceleration was less responsive compared to the tucson... is this beacause the sportage is heavier? anyway m trying to haggle the best cash disc... according to the dealer free compre and lto ang promo till end march

(SEOUL) January 25, 2007 -- Kia vehicles have won a top place in one of the world’s biggest surveys investigating the reliability of more than 450,000 cars aged from three to nine years old. More than 82% of the owners of Kia vehicles surveyed reported no mechanical failures of any type.
The survey was carried out by Warranty Direct, an independent automotive warranty specialist company, and looked into the reliability of vehicles from 33 manufacturers in daily use in the USA and the UK. The company then drew up a ‘Reliability League Table’ showing the number of mechanical failures reported for every 100 vehicles covered by its warranty policies.
Kia was rated number five with a score of 17.39%, very close to Toyota and Mitsubishi and beating such famous brands as Nissan (18.86%), Lexus (20.05%), Porsche (27.48%), BMW (28.64%), Mercedes (29.90%) and Audi (36.74%). Filling the last two places in the survey were the well-known 4x4 brands Land Rover (44.21%) and Jeep (46.35 %).
“This survey strongly supports what we have known for some time, namely that Kia makes high quality vehicles with very good reliability,” commented Mr Jean-Charles Lievens, Senior Vice President Kia Motors Europe.
“In recent years we have greatly improved our product quality and drastically cut back on warranty claims. Now we’re backing up our confidence with a unique 7-Year /150,000 km Warranty on the new Kia cee'd – transferable to subsequent owners – and more and more new customers are switching to the Kia brand. I’m certain that, if the intriguing Warranty Direct survey is repeated in three years time, Kia will have climbed even higher up the reliability league table.”

Check the tire pressures. Some dealers don't adjust the shipping tire pressure (for the boat ride from the factory) into the correct road pressure.

its been more than a week since i got my sportage... here are my initial experience on the new sportage... note that these are based on my preference and driving habits... read at your own risk hehehehe

ride - ever since I changed the tire pressure (initially at 39), I like the ride so far. for me, its more car-like than suv-like. after a very tiring day from work, i could say, my drive home is now more relaxed (i used to drive a Gen2 pajero na medyo matagtag)

handling - a bit on the heavy side. I prefer the heavy handling because it gives me a luxurious feel (kahit Kia!). Gives me a solid feel. But if you are the "racey" type, medyo pang-matanda nga dating nito. But ako, thats the way I like it, pero di pa ako matanda huh hehehe...

gas consumption/engine - medyo bitin lang sa power, medyo gigil. Probably the CRDI engine is better. Pero if you are the type na "relax" lang mag-drive, ok na ok na ito. But if you are looking for a fast car, this is not for you. On gas consumption, tantsa ko around 7-8km/liter, city driving. Havent tried sa freeway/highway.. Hopefully, after a few weeks of use mag-improve.

overall, ok na sya based on my driving habits, preference....test drive nyo to know if this is the car for you... its definitely what i like (given the P1M budget)...

    Have a nice day!

ang offer ng dealers now: free lto registration and insurance...or 30K less sa unit...plus the usual freebies, matting, 3M tint, seatcover.

i think, nun march 23 dumating yun new shipment, so getting a sportage now is easier, unlike before na I have to wait for over a week before they can release a unit.
