its a boxier Tucson... like OTEP said, it shares alot of components with the Tucson. So, picking between them could be a matter of pricing, aesthetics or style preference.

    Hyundai Tucson

    Kia Sportage

p.s they even share the same alloy wheels on some variants.

Kia will have a test drive/launch of the Sportage at the Fort, August 26-27.

IMHO I prefer the looks of the new Sportage to the Tucson, esp. from the rear. The Sportage reminds me of the Volvo XC90, sans the pillar tail lights:

From the front and sides it resembles a Gen 1 CR-V:

Naka-display na siya sa Fort. Bukas yung official launch, but we got to see it na rin kanina.

Tentatively, around 960k yata yung price for the 2.0 gas tiptronic, according to the dealer... but there's something else Kia is releasing that I'm looking at... and thinking about really really hard...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

First of all, i would like to thank the all members whose positive comments regarding the Kia Sportage, made me decide on buying my first SUV.

My wife's 1st choice was the Tucson. I showed her the Sportage. Sabi niya mas maganda nga ang Sportage, but she's undecided because of the resale value of the Kia. I managed to convince her to change her mind with the the ff. arguments.
    1. Tucson CRDi Automatic 4x2- Php 1,078.00 -
after adding LTO and insurance and undercoat - Php 1,020,000.00

Sportage CRDi Automatic with 4WD, ABS,w/ free undercoat LTO and Insurance - Php 1,020,000.00

Considering that both cars are almost the same in interior and engine, the 4 wd and the ABS were the clincher

    2. Our 1st car, a Toyota hi-lux 96 pick up w/c we sold for Php 150,000.00 to add to the dp of our new car, was 11 yrs. old. Meaning hindi ako mabilis magbenta ng sasakyan. Resale value is not much of a problem with me.

    3. Though the Tucson has a longer warranty - 5 yrs compared to 3 yrs for the Sportage. Ok na sa akin yun.

As for my experience driving the car? Parang kotse ang riding comfort, mabilis.
Sarap mag drive. Sarap mamasyal. Sarap magyabang . Comments from friends and acquaintances - "Ganda pala ng Sportage or okey na pala ang Kia ngayon".

Me, my wife and my kids truly love it. Thanks to all.

As for the fc, too early to say kasi 3 days pa lang at medyo erratic pa ang pagmamaneho, break in ko kasi lagi. Ubusin ko muna laman ng gas tank and i'll try my best to post one. Curious din akong malaman. Update na lang ako.
