With that price range, I could (also) already buy the top of the line Kia Carens EX A/T CRDi(which costs about 1.270M). 7 seater na, diesel pa.

But then, Im not trying to defend CAC here but they might be trying to up the product image of Kia through high pricing strategies. Hindi ata nila goal yung maraming Kia na sasakyan sa daan. Unfortunately, nadedeprive din yung mga potential customers ng alternative.

Kidding aside, I think the Soul's price is just... too much. Kahit akong teen pa lang I'd rather go for a Strada or Montero if I have the money. Pero hindi, hanggang Vios E or Lancer lang kaya namin =)).

If they put the price at around 900k-1m, or have a 1.6 version at around 600k-800k, this will be a sure hit.

Malabo yang wish mo at wag mo nang masyadong i-bash to kung di ka naman bibili at mag Strada ka nalang..Di lang naman EX ang available na variant ng Kia Soul,may LX variant pa..

Malamang may 1.6 liter variant nito sometime this year kung may demand para rito..Malabong maging 600-800K yang 1.6 liter dahil malamang nasa 900K-1M Pesos yan at in LX-EX variants din.. Iba talaga ang target market ng Soul at di tulad nung sa Jazz yan..

Di talaga intention na magparami ng units ng Kia-CAC rito dahil wala naman silang local assembly plant at alam nila na may bumbenta pa silang units kahit papaano,the likes of Kia Carnival,Picanto,Rio,K2700 at Carens,pati rin Mohave.

Yung Mohave lang ang fully loaded nilang car sa lineup nila kaya nasa 2.950M Pesos sya at may mga bumili naman,most likely sawa nayan sa Pajero BK at Patrol..

^^^ it's plausible that the sorento's price will increase to P2M to think their mohave is already P2.9M

Off-topic: I read in the August issue of Top Gear Philippines that according to Columbian Autocar Corporation's Chut Velasquez, the Philippine spec Sorento will be powered by a 194hp 2.2 liter CRDi engine (FWD and AWD).
The price? Around P1.65M - P1.675M (I'm guessing thats the starting price of the FWD model).

...Too pricey for it's VALUE....kung magiging sub 1M ang pricing neto this may be a hit..Imagine for the top of the line na 1.32M...konti na lang add ng fund you could have a gigantic Montero Sport na..haayyy..now if the Sorrento will be priced as stated above..then lalo na naging mahal etong Soul..huh.

Ay sorry..isa nga lang palang R and Sorento..am not complaining...am just ranting hehehehe...kse naman totoo naman sobra ang patong ng Columbian Motors...according to my relatives in South Korea it goes only there for starting Php800K range...Bro un sinasabi mo na LX M/T at A/T way too pricey din...*1.22M and 1.17M?...If they mounted a CRDI engine medyo najustify ng konti un pricing... Well sabi mo nga it caters only for a few markets..Fortunately i will not be ever included in that..practicality and bang for the Bucks ang hanap ko lagi.

May taxes pang binabayaran ang Kia-CAC na nagiging mahal ang cars nila at yung shipping company na kinontrata nilang mag-ship ng cars ay binabayaran pa nila kaya napamamahal ang pricing ng Kia rito..

Hayaan nyo na nga lang sila pero kung may reklamo kayo dyan parin eh better e-mail them dyan sa CAC or call them kung may paki o concern talaga kayo dyan sa Kia instead of bashing them here,di naman nila nababasa to..


Malamang yung Soul LX lang ang magiging mabenta rito..
