May solution na sa "gunk" accumulation sa intake manifold. Its called an air/oil separator. Basically what it does is to separate the vaporized oil from the pcv and drain it back to the crank case. Meanwhile, the diesel and water fumes are sent to the intake manifold before the turbo (after the air filter).
There are many numerous suppliers in the US for tubodiesel engines. There are also DIY procedures in making a home brew separator. So far the best separator is a cyclone type coupled with a particulate filter.
The cyclone separator has no moving parts and separates the oil via centrifuge. Oil being heavier that gas sticks to the wall of the separator and drips down to the bottom where it is channeled back to the crankcase.
The benefits for the engine is the there will be no "gunk" accumulation, less oil consumption, closed circuit PCV and good for the environment. No accumulation means more breathing capability for the engine.
Just search for "diesel oil/air separator" in your browser and presto a ton of websites explaining the subject matter will appear.
So far Walker air/sep, temprite have bolt on solutions for detroit diesels. It would be also nice if we can design a localize version.
Check it out guys and lets put our heads together to make one here locally.
diesoline: just called Seiring Corp di daw nila alam kung pang CRDI ung fuel filter nila.. pero im guessin hindi kasi orig parts sila like casa.. dunno din kung pwede magpa order from them.. question lang.., can we clean CRDI fuel filters or talgang bago dapat.. pa inform narin regarding dun sa order mo sa wheels.. nga pala.. i changed my pads with the powerplus brand.. anyone tried it naba with other cars? parang nagsqusqueak ung pads eh.. good brand ba toh 750 for the front set.. made in us ata ...
Hello Chokers, i am based in Korea, magkano ba benta diyan ng fuel filter, baka pwede kitang mabilhan ng isa dito, PM me the part details, baka matulungan kita.
hello totoybato. delphi is the manufacturer of the crdi system for kia and hyundai. i have already inquired via email with delphi korea and they sent me a contact in daejong city. i will post the contact info in a while.
ok. problem is i don't have the part number. i will take a pic of the filter later today. may nakaprint kasi na numbers doon. my carnival 2 park is a 2003 model.
diesoline ako rin carnival park 2 CRDI... magkano nga kaya fuel filter nun.. totoybato kaya mo ba ask jan basta for CRDI carnival park II... pati ung DVD system kaya na integrated controls sa wheel meron jan? brake pads kaya mura din jan? haha sorry dami tanong..
ay oo nga pala used ung bioexceed kanina from seaoil... mejo parang kumonti ung black smoke ata.. haha.. ni rev ko til 4krpm konti lang ung black smoke na lumabas... biodiesel nga ba un? kaya i really need the fuel filter sna...
I'm new to the tsikot forums, I was wondering if any of you carnival/sedona owners would know if the front bumper of the latest sedona (2003-2004) would be compatible with my Carnival 2000 model without major modifications.
My Carnival needs a new bumper, hood, headlamps (front-cut) and I was thinking of putting new parts from the later sedona models. Any help, comments are appreciated.
i am an owner of a 2001 carnival. welcome to the tsikot forums. i've also thought of that too.(whether the sedona's bumpers would fit the carnival) if youd only fit the sedona's bumper to the carnival i think it won't .
but if you'd include the hood & the headlamps. there would be a possibility.
chokers: re the fuel filter, i think that you really have to change it na, especially with the mileage you indicated. i wasn't able to follow up with the seiring agent today. i will call the gray market dealer i got my car from tomorrow. hopefully he has good news for us. i replaced my brake pads last month and what i got were not kia originals but korean replacements. i forgot the brand na but i got them from fronte's. so far they are holding up well naman.
ok thanx for both replies.. guys try niyo nga ung bioexceed or any biodiesel..1 liter nilagay ko sa fulltank nung carnival CRDI.. nawla ung black smoke na problem ko.. as in wala hanggang 3krpm.. nagkakaron lang konti when reaching 4krpm kasi tinry ko flooring dahil nakakabilib talga... biodiesel/bioexceed rulez...nga pla bought oil filters kanina.. korea orig daw same as for the starex... 550 for 2 filters sa casa when i asked 580 isa palan. hay hay sarap buhay pag nakakatipid ka and when things go well..hehe
all of my diesel rides prior to the kia were nissans. the prices of kia spares were a pleasant surprise.
if i have a fuel filter replacement on hand e matagal ko nang sinubok yung biodiesel. i have a concern kc that the biodiesel might clear gunk from the fuel tank and lines thus fouling up the fuel filter. filling up with 5% biodiesel will be the first thing on my list once i get my hands on a filter.
Mga ser, baka pwedeng ibigay nyo sa akin ang contact phone number ng gray market carnival dealer nyo. I have a locally procured sedona V6, eh gus2 ko sana makabitan ng mga items na found only sa gray market version. Would appreciate your help. Salamat po ulit!
sorry iq0 di na macontact ni dad eh... pero parang la naman mashado pinagkaiba ung exterior nung local sa gray market.. spoiler lang cguro and rearmirror...
