parang panget ang picanto when it come to comfort dito sa kalsada natin.
very short wheelbase, tas ang liit ng gulong, di ko ma imagine ang ride quality nyan after several months of use.
Maliit yung gulong pero high sidewall naman. I guess ride quality won't be that bad.

OTEP
Hope Kia can sort out its supply issues.

All the more reason na magpapalabas ang other car companies with their budget cars..he he he!
Do I hear of TOYOTA GETZ or equivalents coming anytime soon?! :transform

As of March 5, 2005 at Kia Quirino Ave (Paco):
P395th M/T
P420th A/T
What does it look like?
Like the batch 1 models: color keyed, 14" black rims with and nice rim cover.
You be the judge if the price is too stiff.
After 12300km, and after a few months driving, the car's still fine, thank you.
The models with black bumpers have indeed "narrower" looking tires but "taller" and the rims are 13." So the overall tire diameter is the same as those in mine: (14" rims, "shorter" tires) But the tires in my car are wider. Sorry hindi ko alam yung tire aspect ratio and all that technical terms.
Black bumpers or color keyed, they all look good to me, even when you park beside a fishball kariton and enjoy a bite, hehehe.
The Hyundai Getz could be JUST what we're looking for! And since there will be an alternative, the Picanto would have competition, which we all know is nice for us. Though if the Getz will have a higher introductory price Picanto prices would go up again... but it may actually stabilize this time!
It's actually the manufacturers/dealers making a big mistake by introducing the Picanto at a too low of a price, and they made an even BIGGER mistake by raising the prices by 50k+. I wouldn't have a problem if they introduced the Picanto at 400k, and it's still quite cheap for much of us. But since they introduced it really, really low, and raised the prices by almost 25%, now it looks overpriced.
At least, it's cheap compared to the overrated, overpriced Japanese entry-level alternatives - the Toyota Vios and Honda City. As I have said earlier, the Vios is too cramped and with "high-tech" features in cost-cutting disguise, while although the City is a good car on paper, very spacious, versatile, and has an excellent engine and drivetrain, it's simply too ugly for anyone to consider even sitting in.
Before we throw ourselves inside the cooking pot again by buying from Columbian Motors and its dealers, why not wait for the Toyota Avanza or Suzuki APV.
Pero few units lang ang ibibigay nila at that price and jack up na for the rest of the unfortunate people.
Before Now
Picanto 330,000.00 395,000.00
Picanto matic 375,000.00 425,000.00
Sorento CRDi 995,000.00 1,120,000.00
Sorento matic 1,090,000.00 1,190,000.00
Pure kolokohan
How did you know? Or is that PURE speculation?Originally Posted by carlove

If you noticed, the Picanto shortage is global. If the Philippines doesn't want the new prices of the Picanto, they can ship units elsewhere (like Europe where the waiting time is in months already).
Mazdamazda,
The right question should be: How did you know that Kia Korea was the one who initiated the price increase? Did the insider show you the pro-forma invoice or T/T remittance slip for the vehicles. Is the insider a co-owner of Columbia Motors. Import price are suppose to be confidential even to employees or executives.
Please let me focus on the real issue. It doesn't matter whether Kia Korea increase the price or not. Once you've given a price quotation and a downpayment was given, Columbia cannot increase the price anymore to that person when they accepted the reservation. In other words, Columbia has to swallow the increase if ever there was one and announce that succeeding orders will bear the new price.
Business now is not that good and all of the companies are bearing the increase in price of raw material and sometimes the peso devaluation. These companies never increase price without proper announcements and gives the buyers a last order. If they cannot, they will not accept your order. OK lang.
I'm sorry to say that your insider is lying and shifting the blame. Columbia can retain the price if it wants to for goodwill to its customer. All I'm saying is " Abisuhan mo naman ang tao."
Ei guys, it's my first time to post a message here. Nabasa ko lahat ng message thread and it's quite interesting to read for an interested buyer of Kia Picanto. I've talked to a manager of Kia Boni but they prioritize 'financing' buyers. I plan to buy kasi as Cash kasi sayang yung interest pero mas uunahin daw nila yung naka-queue sa 'Financing term' since wala daw available units ngayon.
Ang SRP ngayon ng Picanto M/T is 395k and A/t is 445k yata.. Parang mali naman yata yung biglang Price increase nila. In addition, BAGSAK ang 'Customer Care' nila sakin.
Kahit window or alarm wala? Plano ko kasi talagang magpunta kaninang mrning sa Showroom nila pero after reading the thread of message here, parang nawalan ako ng gana...
alec polo21,
There are many threads already regarding the Getz. Please take note that Hyundai and Kia do nat have the same distributor.
Hyundai is offcially distributed by HARI- Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. Maybe mas fair sila sa customers nila. Kia is distributed by Columbia Motors proven to be pinakawalanghiyang company to be doing business with.
