2012 Kia Rio

Sayang... so sad na makita ang fuel consumption.. I was approved for this at 20% down and 13K * 60 months. Well,. still trying to get that interest down.. They are throwing in tint, mats, and backup sensor for free..

But was reading this thread for four hours... and sayang talaga.. gusto ko ang looks interior/exterior. the drive was great din when I test drive. as for the FC, i am ok with that right now.. but 5 years down the road, how much na ang gasolina per liter tapos ganito FC ko, ayoko.. I know, this could be an isolated issue but ang hirap.. buti na sigurado esp when that kind of money is involved.

Wala na naman problema ang 2012 Rio 1.4 EX MT ko sa FC. I can go 11-12 km/liter on city and 16-18 km/liter on High-way driving. Hindi mo naman ma compare sa Vios kasi ang liit at gaan ang Vios. It think it goes down on driving drivng habits. At Vios thread there are also Vios disappointed users who have FC that can go high as much as 8 km/liter.

Pero kung gusto ng Rio, yep, I think the best bet is the 1.2L MT or the 1.4L MT Sedan. Yan nalang ata yun sobra minimal ng FC issues. Mostly naman kasi isolated sa hatchback owners... Yun Sedan owners sobra onti ng may reklamo sa FC.

tama sir, KIA RIO 1.4 EX Sedan MT, i have no problem sa FC.actually maluwag na kalsada pag nakaka 20km/h sa ave. speed ako. usually 6-12km/h ave speed ko bihira ako maka 30km/h sa ave.speed. im happy with 10kms/L pure City Driving lagi with my pregnant wife na (150lbs).

Would have gotten one, actually. Since I really never liked AT's, but the color line-up is just ehh. I wanted black but unfortunately it wasn't available.

Mas spacious kasi yan Rio and the interior is really commendable.

And the hatchback is just dropdead gorgeous. Yun nga lang. Comes only with AT and a really bad FC to boot.

So the okay pick for the Rio seems like the 1.2LX or the 1.4MT Sedan only

I wager a change of those 17" shoes (down to 14" or 15") would improve FC considerably on the hatch.

Based on your dashboard display, I assume your Rio is a sedan.
Yang pure highway mo ba is Flat road? Ano route mo? Buong stretch ba ng NLEX? SLEX? or pababa ng Tagaytay then SLEX?

Mga nagccomplain are Hatch..
Wala naman ako masyadong complain sa highway... Lowest na nagawa ko is 6.4L/100km.. But still way off sa 4.8L/100km mo..

From my point of view, what's the point of taking a pic of High FC reading... pwede pwede ko kunan ng nasa 60L/100km ang reading eh.. Mas may sense pa ang kumuha ng very low reading kasi mahirap maabot yang 4.8L/100km mo..

It's a sedan.
regarding yung pic sa high fc honesty nalang cguro, but at least provide a pic.
Im in cebu, sa SRP Highway yan, pure flat,
take note yung 17 low profile yung rubber, mas manipis cya
yung 15 naman normal lang ang profile, yung diameter nila from rubber to rubber is not much of a difference.
mas malaki pa ng 0.2 inch ang overall tire diameter ng 15" keysa 17"

15" 185/65R15 Overall Diameter: 24.46 in (621.28 mm)
17" 205/45R17 Overall Diameter: 24.26 in (616.20 mm)
Diameter Difference: 0.82%

thats only 0.2 inch difference in diameter,
overall tire weight? I have no idea
Vehicle weight difference? the sedan AT weights 1600kg gross (1170kg curb)

?? the Kia Rio A/T I saw in their showroom and test drive had the second one.. but A/T un.. Ung sa manual single DIN ba?
I know its not the exactly the second picture because madami yata msyadong buttons to, but integrated HU parin ung test drive ko.

M/T FC is acceptable from the comments.. but im still tron between this and avanza..
Its like my heart says RIO but my Brain says Avanza..

I have a 1.4 MT EX Sedan and I would say the Stereo Unit installed in mine is the 2nd picture you posted (double DIN).
I think the 1st pic (single DIN) is for the 1.2MT, but correct me if I'm wrong with this..
So far, I'm happy with the FC of my Rio..

Mostly mga late 2012 models ng EX AT or MT ay integrated(2nd picture) na ang stereo, pero yung aircon manual controls parin, unlike sa 2nd pic naka auto climate control yan.
although i've seen some early 2012 EX AT with a 1 DIN stereo same as the 1st picture.

Actually agree with the figures for Honda Jazz. Traffic here in Metro Manila is so bad that it makes our Jazz look like my Mazda 3 2.0 in terms of fuel consumption. On light traffic days, we do around 10-11km/l and even 15 to 18 km/l during long drives. During weekdays driving in morning and evening rush hour traffic, fuel consumption goes down to as low as 6.5 km/l. This is a 2010 Honda Jazz 1.5 i-VTEC. My Mazda 3 gets around 5.5 to 6 km/l during really bad traffic and about 9-10km/l during weekends both are well maintained by their respective dealers.

Are the bad FC figures for the Rio based on weekday traffic? O ganun parin kasama during lighter traffic days? Sayang interested sana ako sa kanya. Super pogi nung car eh

Chevy spark owner here. Just refueled the tank. 625 kms 42 liters = 14.93 kms/ltr. My full yank lasts me a month. Purely city driving. Tandang sora - Ortigas and back. I use it 6-7 times a week. with short runs over the weekend. I drive it like a race car in the city, pushing it to its limits. Damn! I love my chevy!!!

Observed ko lang lahat na dark colored Rio have integrated HU. At ang mga light colored Rio ay 1 DIN with remote control. Thanks Sir. I don't think may remote sya.. as for me, the integrated stereo looks elegant, but I know baka hindi ko na ito mapalitan or macostumize.. Graphite kukunin ko. Its actually a crazy decision, its this and and avanza 1.3E, my brain, friends, and officemate keeps on telling me to get the avanza.. But I followed my heart, and will be getting the rio.. and I'm happy about it...
