June 26th, 2012 07:37 PM #821Wala pa ako nakitang Shell Nitro Racing dito sa Cagayan de Oro City. I tried the Nitro+ after being told it's 95RON and Shell FuelSave Unleaded is 93RON. Wow, I been had!
Anyway, I'll go back to Petron- my usual gas station for years. I'll might as well try Caltex Gold soon, medyo malayo lang yong station.
Thanks for the info mate!

thanks for the reply. I've actually already test driven the Ford Fiesta, Honda Jazz 1.3, Honda city 1.5, Kia Rio EX Sedan, Kia rio EX Hatch.
The Fiesta is nice and all except one thing I'm sure I cannot live with. The stupid door lock is electronic, there are no individual door locks on the doors.
The Honda Jazz though I like it, has only a single chamber headlight for Hi/Lo Beam using H4, modifying will void my warranty.
Both Kia rio's have good drives when i tested them in Las Pinas and Fort Bonifacio. features are also good, but alot of people shot Kia down already due to parts not being available in aftermarket.
These are my 3 choices. I killed the Fiesta because of the door lock. The new Yaris is also my option if and when it does come out locally.
I like the rio because of the features but was/is expecting more form the engine, I am hoping for at least 8Km/L, my uncle's City 1.5 achieves 7-8 so does the 1.5 Jazz JDM or thai. The 2011 Honda CRV 2.0 achives 6 to 7KM/L.
I'm hoping that if the forums seem positive above 2T KMs the fuel will improve, my friend's 1.8 elantra achives 5 to 5.4 l/100KM.
I'm not looking into Hybrid territory but if needed I can go for Prius C, once the alternative fuel law is passed. Still have about 5 months to decide. Takot ko lang with the Jazz is ground clearance, since where I live is condo, takot ko sumayad. what's the actual ground clearance of the Rio Hatch loaded with 4 adults? and what's the ground clearance with only one driver?
Oh By the way, I use SeaOil Extreme 97 Octane on my RAV4. Has anyone tested this with the Kia rio EX?

June 27th, 2012 04:25 PM #823good day cyberian we have the same car nabasa ko threads dito and im a bit puzzled sa fc mo,ang sakin napansin ko lang ng mag 700 km na yun odometer ko mukang gumaganda fc from 14km/100L nasa 13.6km/100L na sya ngayon, same driving condition at way.this morning nag full tank ako ng caltex gold at hinataw ko sa slex 100-130km naka more than 50km ako register sya ng 6.0km/100L so that is roughly 16.666km per liter sa highway, pero im not counting on it gusto ko uli i-full tank then conpute, tom ill post it here kung ilan kasama na city driving just to be sure kung ano talaga average consumption nito.aircon ko pala nasa manual lang palagi at 24degress set im not using auto climate control maybe culprit din ito sa mataas na fc.try to use 95 octane never lower than that, subok ko na caltex gold

June 27th, 2012 04:43 PM #824hi psychomp3, i do hope too na mag improve nga itong fc ng rio5 namin ni cyberian, but as i have said mukang maimprove nga napansin ko lang ng mag 700km na yun odometer medyo gumaganda na from 14km/100L nasa 13.6km/100L na, regarding sa auto na ito ok naman sya value for money with all the features, meron lang silang kinalimutan,i can live with it kung mawala cruise control pero ang tinangal nila eh yun speed sensing door lock, lagi ko tuloy nalilimutan i-losk door pag umandar na,nasanay ako sa toyota,by the way galing pala ako toyota vios 1.5 A/T,ang fc ng vios ko sa highway noon is 16.999km/L, kanina lang hinataw ko rio5 ko sa slex nag register ng 6.0km/100L so roughly 16.666km/L yun clearance nya muka nga mababa kaya pag nag park ako sa mga mall di ko sinasagad sa hump baka tumama kasi

June 27th, 2012 05:36 PM #825thanks for the response Rio5.
the reason i asked the ground clearance is because we also had a 2.4V 2007 Camry previously and well to make the long story short even entry and exit ramp sa condo sumyad yung front bumper, adn there was one floor sa condo i think it was 6th floor na tumatama yung under chassis ng car, but the Camry is a different ballgame altogether, it's long period, not wide, the RAV4 is wider. and that car can achieve 8 to 10KM/L using the shift-tronic.
the Jazz naman is 6" daw... dunno if that's true but the 6" clearance is with the 1.3 and JDM Jazz without body kit, if may body kit nasa 5 to 5.5" lang. so no no siya. and ayaw tanggalin ng casa yung bodykit.
The auto-lock, if I may ask, I know that is a feature that can be added, since my RAV4 is older by 13 years than the rio I don't have that feature but have used it on the 2001 1.8G corolla Altis, 2007 Camry 2.4V and our latest 2011 2.4V innova. Does the Rio lock when all doors are closed and the ignition is pressed. What i mean here is you're already in the car, all doors closed, then press the start if the doors will lock, my RAV4 is using Alien security, it was the popular alarm during 2002 after our RAV4 was recovered from a car nap.

June 27th, 2012 05:42 PM #826hi cyberian.
also my rav4 was produced before the beauty of distance to empty so I reset my trip A after every tank up. and so far my computation sticks. plus I only use the car to go to work on really bad rainy days or on weekends.

i don't own a rio but was really impressed when i saw one. it just saddens me hearing this and that problems here. just remember that the lighter you step on the pedal on low gears, the longer it will take to upshift thus using more fuel. The faster it achieves the "2k rpm" per gear and shifts, the less fuel it will consume. HTH
But overall, features and exteriors of the Rio is really nice!

June 28th, 2012 02:03 PM #830totally agree! noticed this also... imho you need to build up "momentum" also ...but then it's a different case if there is no road space to speed up or you may have to brake again at the next corner...
i may be wrong but it also needs a bit of warm-up? i find the fc gets better when i do this.. but then if your trip is too short the fc you save may be negated with the time you idle with warm-up
and its right above an electric motor....
