2012 Vios 1.3 MT

I drive along EDSA everyday during rush hour (back & forth around 14-15km only depending on the route I take, so that's roughly 7km one way) the lowest FC I got was 8km/L, with the aircon on and never did I get out of any traffic. Worst traffic I experienced was being stuck somewhere for around an hour or so, and yet, the FC was constant at 8-9km/L.

Boy I tell you malakas na yung 8km/L. Meron nga nagpapanic na kapag bumaba ng 10km/L FC ng Vios. :lol:

When the traffic clears out, on city driving best I got was around twelve. Highway I got around 19km/L. 21km/L is achievable but I was too impatient to drive * a constant of 80kph.

Vios' ODO is 1k+ only.

Also, I've driven a 2.7L VVTi Fortuner. Traffic as well, and it was a lot longer than your 90 mins, there were a lot of stops too (w/o the engine being shut down) as I had to pick something up at various places. FC, according to the MID is 5.8km/L. Give and take 1km/L less, that's around 5km/L. Fortuner's ODO was 80k.

The FD we have here at home also experience traffic on a regular basis, if I remember correctly, the worst FC it got was around 6km/L.

FDs ODO 60-70k kms

For a 1.4L, 4km/L is simply unacceptable, for me... at least. However, if I was driving a 2.5L FXT (got around 5km/L on it last time I drove one...) or a 4.8L V8 Expedition masaya na ko sa 4km/L hehe.

FXTs ODO ~20k.

Fortuner? Uht-uh... 3.0 in traffic tops out at 5 kml, given a 15-20 kmh average.

At an average of 15 kmh, Vios and Mazda2 AT around 7.5, Fiesta, Accent, Jazz 1.5 and 1.6 are at 6.5.

6 kmh is beyond dreadful. That's like going to Divisoria at Christmas.

That was expected. That's not "just" a 10 kmh difference. That's over twice the time to go the same distance. 6 kmh? I can walk a lot faster than that.

That's 1 liter to drive 11 km, and around 1.5 liters to idle in traffic for over an hour. Even diesels use over 1 liter per hour at idle with the aircon on.

got to test the fuel consumption of my rio 1.2lx at highway(manila to pangasinan and vice versa)
from manila to pangasinan (varying speed 80-120 kph with moderate traffic from taft ave to a. bonifacio, ) fc at MID 5.5l/100km or 18km/l
from pangasinan to manila (varying speed 80-150 kph at sctex and nlex) fc at MID is 6.0/100km or 16.67km/l
total distance travelled is 460km. actual fuel consumed is 27liters
actual FC is 17km/l
current ODO reading is 580km

Christmas is the worst. That's why we do all our shopping in October and November.

Christmas traffic is like going to Divisoria during the weekend. Except the entire city is like that... not just Divisoria.

Guys, na mga nka-Hb. Nacheck nyo na ba yung front disc brake pati yung screw or Nut sa may front and rear suspension? Napansin ko ang bilis kalawangin. Sir, Dasma to manggahan Cavite: light traffic lng nmn. Manggahan to Tejero: highway pero with slow tricycles paminsan-minsan. Cavitex highway, coastal biglang moderate to heavy traffic. Macapagal light traffic (usual stop and Go sa traffic lights). PICC light to moderate. Quirino Light to moderate, Araneta Light to Moderate.
Sa Coastal lng tlga sir ako medyo ntraffic. The rest, light to moderate. 70 highway 30 mixed.

Pag manila ako, average fc ko mga 9L/100km to 10.8L/100km sa MID.

Sir, I think effective tlga yung magandang driving habits. Anticipation of stop in red lights or traffic(cruise) No sudden stop or sudden acceleration. Neutral+handbreak kpg stop. Then kpg down hill 1st or 2ng gear lng. Light lng s gas pedal n kapag nasa 70-90kph cruising style lng (2-3 secs gas then release then gas ult..so on and so forth) then kpg maluwag tlga, sportronic manual nasa 4th gear 1500-2000 rpm lng khit nasa 100kph na ako. Aircon nasa 2 fans 22 degrees Celsius.
Tpos tntry ko tlga iwasan yung mga traffic routes.

Pero lhat ng mga nakukuha ko ay sa MID lng yan sir. Cguro next week ko pa makukuha tlga yung manual computation ko kpg nagpafulltank ult ako. Pero alam ko sir na konti lng difference ng actual fc sa nakukuha sa MID.

Mga sir na nka hatchback or Rio Sedan try nyo read Manual sa 5-49. About po yun sa Economical operation(para maganda fc) nkaindicate na po yung mga suggestions para maimprove fc ng sasakyan.

All of those figures are pure city driving except for the fifth entry, which is mixed city + highway when we travelled from Pasig to Nuvali and back last Saturday.

In heavy traffic (<10kph), yung tipong gumagapang lang yung sasakyan ko for long stretches = 5.83km/L

In moderate traffic, there's a significant improvement at 8.78km/L

And yung mixed driving ko, 13.33km/L

So yeah, sa city driving in heavy traffic lang talaga talo yung Rio 1.4 AT, but otherwise, it performs pretty good.

Gusto ko nga subukan takbuhin yung buong stretch ng SCTEX minsan eh, tapos maglalaro lang yung speed sa 80kph... :p

after almost 5000 odo ng rio ex mt ko, i finally arrived to the sad conclusion na hanggang 9km/l lang talaga ang itatakbo nito. i used petron xcs, shell, caltex, phoenix, total. antipolo-marcos hiway-eastwood lang rota ko. little traffic sa pag u turn sa eastwood. minsan inaabot ng malas sobrang traffic sa macapagal bridge sa sm marikina papunta eastwood aabutin ng halos isang oras ang byahe from that point to libis pero bihira lang. mga once a month nangyayari. buti panggabi pasok ko dahil kung hindi, sa araw araw na ginawa ng Diyos yung traffic tuwing umuuwi ako ng 6 or 7, talagang maaawa ka sa mga nagwowork sa ortigas at makati. hindi ako kaskasero pero aminado namna ako na terrain yung lugar namin kaya mejo mababa din fc ko. overall, im satisfied na rin. i beliv i got the most out of the hard earned money na pinakawalan ko just to get this car. honestly, masasabi ko na walang halong pagsisisi kung bakit hindi vios ang kinuha ko. i love the car, loob at labas. astig pa rin ang porma niya sa kalye. pag naitatabi ko siya sa city, just cant help but be proud of the rio kahit na kia lang siya.

swerte ka pa bro, mt yung sa yo. sa akin at kaya 7 to 8 km/l lang. ako naman tayuman to eastwood ang route, medyo ma-trapik at low-speed talaga sa maynila kaya malakas ang konsumo.

wala din naman akong pagsisisi na ito kinuha ko. maganda ang itsura ng oto, loob at labas. maganda din ang ride, maluwag at tahimik sa loob ng cabin. pag-iisipan ko na lang paano makaiwas sa trapik!

kia rio 2012 EX sedan Manual din ako, no complains sa FC,nakausap ko ka churchmate namin na family driver at dating Taxi driver, Vios ang dala nya sabi nya Normal daw FC ko, nacompare nya since mejo same route kami lagi.
bumabagsak ng 8kms/L pag heavy traffic at 10kms/L moderate. Delmonte Ave. - Quezon Ave - QC Circle - Commonwealth - Novaliches bayan route ko.
