Hi guys! Despite being fewer Carens owners, we still put up a good fight. Obviously, we are grossly outnumbered by Starex owners plus the "fact" na may dayaan...I believe that many unbelievers took a second or third look at the Carens. Heck, I don't care if we lost sa voting, basta I know deep in my heart that the Carens is the winner. And that, my friends, makes us winners too! Advanced merry christmas to you all.

Carens enjoyed being in the top spot (and the limelight) for months.. pero yung bagong holder ng top spot ngayon eh siguro ngayon lang yan....no offense meant to Starex owners and fans. Starex is a good van. Kapatid din ng Carens yan.

But for me, Carens is still the winner..

bollocks kasi taga CAC eh nag price increase!! sayang tuloy..

anyway share ko lang one time nasa front ako ng intersection, naka red light so as usual nag aabang ako ng green para go agad.. eto mga MC riders na makakapal ang mukha eh lahat nasa gilid ko so worried ako baka masagi nila side mirror ko (which most of the time they do) so sila din eh naka ready na for a go green light!! eh alam naman natin na mga motorcycles eh pag umarangkada napakabilis.. ayun nakahanap sila ng katapat on an open road ni isa sa mga MC na kasabay ko walang nakahabol sa bilis ng acceleration ng carens.. lahat sila nagulat eh... hehehe shift agad ako sa 2nd gear sabay kick ng VGT super tulin talaga.. lahat ng kasama ko eh napa sandal sa upuan at di nakakilos for a few seconds..

Guys, I just read sa special supplement of Philippine Star that KIA CARENS won the 2008 Autofocus People's Choice Awards, as well as topping (of course naman) the Minivan segment. Award-winning ang Carens, although, the COTY is somewhat like a popularity contest. The Carens won back-to-back Petron Car of the Year awards for the compact van and mpv, 2007 and 2008. Congratulations to all of us who are mesmerized and truly happy with our beloved Carens. More power and merry christmas to all!

maganda naman talaga carens, it deserve the awards. however, and i don't mean to be sound negative, this awards, it seems, are being used by columbia as reasons in raising the prices of kia vehicles here in the Philippines. Sa ibang bansa nag taas din naman pero dito sa pinas grabe, 120K ++ in less than a year??!!

I got hit by a rock along SLEX Susana Heights area a couple weeks ago. 2 tama, tanggal din paint. Mine's white so I just used the available acrylic paint from Handyman and touched it up using 'ting ting'. nga lang, may dent that can be seem pa rin.

I believe rule of thumb is P2-P2.5k per panel if you want to have the entire area repainted. Last Saturday, nabitawan ko yung 5 gallon water container and unfortunately, it hit the bumper. ayun, gasgas at may mga ilang tanggal pintura.

siguro budgetan ko na lang para hindi eyesore. kainis!

I got hit by a rock along SLEX Susana Heights area a couple weeks ago. 2 tama, tanggal din paint. Mine's white so I just used the available acrylic paint from Handyman and touched it up using 'ting ting'. nga lang, may dent that can be seem pa rin.

I believe rule of thumb is P2-P2.5k per panel if you want to have the entire area repainted. Last Saturday, nabitawan ko yung 5 gallon water container and unfortunately, it hit the bumper. ayun, gasgas at may mga ilang tanggal pintura.

thx bro. anyway, may nakita ako sa net kani-kanina lang regarding sa touch up paint para sa carens ko. nakausap ko na rin yung butch and he told me na within 2 days makukuha ko through courier pero sabi ko pick up ko na lang kasi sa marikina lang naman pala sila eh taga taytay ako. di ko pa siya tested but dont worry i post ko yung outcome once makuha ko na yung touch up paint from butch. eto nga pala yung link nya http://ph.88db.com/ph/Services/Post_...?PostID=261459. sana maging ok siya pag na apply ko na.

Hayy..pareho tayo sir.. yung sa akin naman sumayad ako sa garahe namin sa Pangasinan (sa in-laws ko)..pagkataas taas kasi ng garahe... 1 square inch ang natuklap na pintura sa may lower part ng right bumper ko...di nga masyado obvious pero hindi pa rin ako comportable...Dun ko lang napansin na manipis pala ang pintura ng bumper ng Carens..

Sa unang tingin parang putik lang pero hindi maganda tignan..puti din sa akin kaya obvious..

Una inisip ko kung lagyan ko na lang ng manipis na sticker para di kita..but some have suggested na pa paint na lang..pero ang alam ko walang nagpipintura ng ganon kaliit...per panel nga as you said.

maliit lang pero sakit din ng ulo... kung puwede nga lang ganito ang gawin ko sa sarili ko but I know mistakes do happen and charge to experience lahat..

I don't think anyone was more scratches and nicked paint on their Carens than mine... anyway, di naman competition ito hehehe
Eye sore talaga ang mga tama sa car, but in reality, we can't do much to protect our cars, kasi most of the time, iba ang nakaka-inflict ng damage. No matter how we take the utmost care while driving, madalas sa parking nadadale ang sasakyan. That's life and we are just a few of those people na, unfortunately, gets the shorter end of the stick.

Another newbie here . Can you enlighten me guys? Im planning to buy a Carens for our company. Im from Davao BTW and KIA dealers here accept trade in's w/ much higher buying rate compared to selling it to a direct buyer. Yes its true coz Im planning to trade in our 96 civic.

But now im stomped. My partners are considering to buy a trekker since the price dont differ that much (1.060 for LX MT carens and 981K for 4x2 trekker). I know its a way off comparison, but which choice do i get better value for the money?

Any reactions guys? Carens really captured my attention. My partners are concerned about the aftermarket value and what best fits our business. Not to mention the Kia stigma that plagued for years.

Can't seem to convince them enough.
