Guys ang Carens ay tataas na naman this coming Monday. Yon ang sabi sa akin ng SA ko. Ang going rate para sa EX CRDI AT ay P1.3 (siguro 1.299 katulad ng Captiva).

Is CAC going nuts with these price increase. Come to think of it the price of diesel is almost the same as gasoline prices are. The only advantage that diesel engine has with the gas engine are its torque. And with this price I would rather get the captiva than the Carens. Who are they kidding. Its a very good car I love it but with these trending of price increase who would buy this unit. Ano kala nila langis sila na sumasabay sa pagtaas.

Gandang theory yan sir ah. Baka pwede din nating i try tapos post din natin outcome kung ganon nga. Pero siyempre i fa factor-in din natin yung mga other factors like - yung supposedly eh "off by 10%" na odo reading, yung driving conditions, kung sa manual tranny lang, at kung sa highway or city driving ba yon.


At least kung ma pro prove natin na ganon nga eh mababago na natin driving habits natin for better Fuel Economy.

Example, 1 rotation of 17 (bigger) wheel is equal to its circumference. So parang biniyak mo yung 17 wheel and inilatag mo sa kalye and measure the length. Ganun din sa 15 wheel pag biniyak mo yun ang total length niya ay shorter than the length of 17 wheel. The circumference of 17 wheels is longer than the circumference of 15 wheel due to longer wheel radius.
So, if the speedo is calibrated to measure distance using 17 wheel then it will show an error if you use a 15 wheel. And this error (approx 9%) will result in error in speedo kph reading, odometer distance reading and computation of FC. Talo sa 100,000 km warranty.

Agree ako dito mahilig silang mag memo ng tipong fri lalabas ang abiso heloo o.a. naman na kng tataasan pa nila ang price madaming mag dadalawang isip na bumili dont get me wrong carens is a great car but i dnt think worth buying kong totoo man na may increase ito uli so far i love driving my carens so does the kids. Guys anung update the EB?

Speedometer encoders are placed in the gears of propeller shafts or in axle shafts.. so even if it was indeed calibrated using the 17 inch mag wheels, changing the wheel size from 17 inch to 16 or 15 inch, speedometer / odometer readings will not be affected... what will be affected is the "actual speed" measurement... because the engine via transmission will make the wheels turn and not the wheels turning the engine...

for example say for 17 inch magwheels you are running at "speedometer reading" of 100kph and your "actual speed" also reads 100kph, if you change your magwheels to 15 inch your "speedometer reading" will still read the same 100kph but the "actual speed" will be offset and that may read 90kph

this is true to any car... changing tires, magwheel size will affect actual speed reading but speedometer readings will still be the same.. larger tires and magwheels also may affect your FC..

-1 Front

-2 speakers for the rear doors.
-1 sub woofer (right side tapalodo).

Sa ibang bansa lumabas yata yung full setup using 8 speaker, Infinity yata ang gamit.sa manual naman under kiatechinfo.com ,JBL ang nakalagay na Amplifier.

Last week, I bought these:
SOUNDSTREAM LS60.c - 6.5 inches front speakers lang yan and tweeters.
JBL for the rears naman- 6.5 inches din.
DLS supernatural sound for the front
Alpine - 9861E DVD player
Pioneer - 6450 motorized lcd
Rockford fosgate PUNCH P1- 8 inches for the far rear sub.

Na install ko naman lahat base sa location ng speakers. NAtuwa lang ako masyado sa location ng SUBWOOFER tagong tago talga.maganda din tumunog and good thing, di ko na kailngan mag pagawa ng enclosure. OO nga pala guys, naglagay ako ng flash band dun mismo sa location ng sub para iwas vibration and yung sobra binalot ko sa likod (sa may bandang lagayan ng tools). Result: ok sya, pakiramdam ko lalong tumahimik yung ride plus yung tunog ng Subwoofer maganda.

Ang AMP na ginamit ko is yung OLDSCHOOL na V12- alpine, sooner palit na lang pag meron budget na.

Share ko sa inyo pics, unfortunately ayaw malagay di ko alam kung sa net ko or sa site natin, share ko na lang sa YM if ever gusto nyo, bigay ko sa inyo lahat ng information (dawin_cd*yahoo.com). Sana kung me EB na.

My 6.5" speakers fit perfectly there. Although even if you have a smaller speaker, like a 5.25", can fit there since good brands almost always have mouldings/fittings included in the package allowing your installer to properly mount them even though the original hole is for a bigger speaker.

tnx tail hook balak ko kasing mag palit this weekend, parang puro bass kasi ang speaker ng carens.

Labor - 1,000
Parts - 537 (oil filter 525 and rags 12)
Oil - 900 (6 liters)
VAT - 292.44

Total - 2,729.44

Akala ko free labor for the first check up, pero sabi nung Service advisor hindi na daw. Hindi na ako nakipag talo, dahil pinaadjust ko naman yung alarm sensitivity at palit ng headlight bulbs dati for free.

Eto yung mga ginawa nila for the 5000km check up....
1. change oil filter and oil (galing yung oil sa Petron drum, around 1.5 gallons nilagay)
2. sand paper nung brake pads ng front tires
3. car wash (mas matagal pang ginawa kesa change oil. hehe)

u should compute by over-all WHeel diameter. meaning wheel+tire.
i think the best way to compute them is with a GPS. probably Top Gear Philippines or "C Magazine" can help on this....

mga ser, may nakapag install na ba ng 2-din LCD/dvd/tv tuner sa inyo? what brand kaya? okay ba yung fidelity?

Regarding Fidelity 2-Din HUs medyo madali po masira yung touch screen functions nya, dun po sa isa kong club (VCP - Vios Club Philippines) may mga members na nagdidispose nung Fidelity HUs nila kase nasira yung touchscreen functions... I suggest you go with the more popular brands such as alpine and Pioneer... Yung alpine w202 is on sale now at around PHp35,000 from the old price of Php 50k++ due to the release of the new Alpine IVA-W502 model...

i'm from anabu 1, imus cavite... san po ba pinsan mo.. it's my everyday car goin to manila.. superb comfort ride.. just hoping that her suspension is good enough for the uneven, bumpy, patchy roads in cavite...

Cavite..Represent!!!!. I'm from imus, marami na nga ako nakikitang carens along aguinaldo and coastal. if i pass by one, i make sure to make a honk. baka nga nagkasabay na tayo sa kalsada xenon, next time honk ulit ako pag nakasabay ako colour grey. oo nga pala, i'm driving a cherry black. See you on the road.

Dapat siguro mag EB na tayo....

Agree with this. It should be the overall wheel diameter. Ideally, it doesn't matter even if 15" or 17" mags as long as the right profile of tire will be used to maintained the overall wheel diameter.

The problem with the stock 15s I think is the high profile of the tire. After a while, the rubber sidewall sags even if you maintain the tire pressure. So in effect, you will have a shorter wheel radius, a little bit higher speedo readings than actual and a lower ground clearance

The difference with using a 17s mags is that the rubber is less and therefore the sag is less also. Metal don't compress as oppose to rubber. And therefore, you will have a more accurate speedo reading using 17s. Mine even have an oversize tire, mas higher ground clearance at mas matipid pa sa fuel
