Question lang sa mga CRDI owners, have you ever experienced white smoke from your exhaust? Kagabi kasi tinututukan ako ng Fortuner sa NLEX, so hinataw ko, naiwan ko yung Fortuner pero parang may white smoke na lumabas sa exhaust nung pag-apak ko ng bigla. Pwede kayang hindi maganda yung burn at that time kasi madumi na yung air filter? Recommended nyo ba kumuha ng aftermarket na air filter?

tulungan ko na kayo.. kahit wala akong carens. magkakaron din ako nyan balang araw. hehe.

kahit ano pa siya iiwanan ng carens yan. d4d versus crdivgt hmmm mismatch sa arangkada pa lang e wala na. another factor yun weight niya sobra bigat.

BTW guys parang napapansin ko na parang mas matakaw ang ride natin pag pinipigilan yun tapak natin as in pag nagtitipid driving ako like nagshishift up ako agad. pero for the last two weeks try ako ng casual driving ko yun mejo almost 2k yun rev ko bago ako magshift up umaabot ako ng 10-10.4 kpl unlike before na tipid driving ako nakaka 8-9 kpl lang ako. mine is a manual unit.

White smoke means water condensation. Usually lumalabas sa exhaust pipe kapag malamig pa ang makina. Ang worst scenario naman ay kung nasira ang overhead gasket mo dahil nag-overheat ang makina sa kawalan ng coolant sa radiator. Mapapansin mo kaagad ito dahil sa nawalan ng compression ang engine mo, tapos naghahalo ang langis at tubig at kulay puti ang oil mo, tapos PARANG STEAM na white smoke ang lalabas sa tambutso.

Sa mga Carens na bago naman e di mangyayari siguro itong mag-overheat ang engine dahil puno pa at well maintained ang oil at cooling system nito. Palagay ko ay "tubig" sa fuel ang dahilan, lalo na't maraming gas station sa atin ang may problema sa water condensation sa kanilang mga storage tank.

Katulad ng sabi ng KIA, walang dapat ikabahala dito lalo na kung wala namang "loss of performance"..Sa air filter naman, okay lang ang mga aftermarket na products, wag lang siguro yung mga made in china kasi maraming hokus-pokus pa sa kanilang mga produkto.

Master Chief 711, retired ka ba sa US Navy o sa Coast Guard? Alam ko di ka local kasi walang E-9 sa Philippine Navy o Coast Guard.

i replaced my oem speakers with 2 pairs of infinity 6022i (front and back). the original hu (jvc kw-xc406) of the lx is actually decent. the oem speakers are full-range (meaning single cone) so they don't do justice to the hu's capability. the speaker magnet is unbelievably tiny. i have never seen a 6-1/2" oem speaker with a magnet barely an inch in diameter! the tweeters of the 6022i are nicely angled upwards and a +3db switch is provided if you prefer even better high's.

Gandang theory yan sir ah. Baka pwede din nating i try tapos post din natin outcome kung ganon nga. Pero siyempre i fa factor-in din natin yung mga other factors like - yung supposedly eh "off by 10%" na odo reading, yung driving conditions, kung sa manual tranny lang, at kung sa highway or city driving ba yon.


At least kung ma pro prove natin na ganon nga eh mababago na natin driving habits natin for better Fuel Economy.

possible yung usok na yun eh caused by carbon deposits in your exhaust system na natagtag gawa ng biglang arangkada... wag po sana natin kalimutan na si carens eh still using diesel fuel...carbon and smoke is normal but of course may limits yan given that na madumi pa diesel dito sa atin... but still carens engine is very efficient in burning the diesel...

sa shifting naman ng M/T better shift at higher rpm para sa carens kasi when shifting at low rpm ma starve lang yung engine causing to use more fuel... our carens diesel drives just like a gas engine kaya dapat shift at higher rpm para sufficient yung buwelo nya at hindi mahihirapan pag up shift

hehehehehe, 3.0D4D na Fortuner. I've noticed nga na iba yung amoy ng exhaust fumes. Akala ko noon, parang diesel na hindi maganda ang sunog, pero normal naman, mas masama nga yung amoy ng fumes ng crosswind eh. magpapalit na rin ako ng air filter, since nung bagong bili, wala pa nung white smoke, ngayon lang, tapos madumi na rin yung filter.

I also noticed one time during one of my early morning start-ups na biglang may lumabas na makapal na gray exhaust pero nawala na rin during the journey. Inisip ko nga baka madumi yung kinarga na diesel kaya ganun. Pero once lang nangyari ito and I slept well from there on.

Sir MSchu gusto ko din sana pumunta sa Eb nyo sa Metrowalk pero hindi pa ako confident sa schedule ko. Kung di man ako makapunta sana makapunta yung iba and mai post nyor pics for us to see.. parang "virtual eb" na rin..

napansin ko rin yan dati. before, i always tried keep 2,000RPM or below when im in NLEX. Then I tried doing 2,500RPM, which gave me a better fuel economy, I think I'm doing around 10.5 to 11 KM/liter now. I think this is because the VGT is giving more power at that RPM.

It's ok if you can just drop by if there is going to be an eb. All I wanted to do is sana matuloy na yung EB natin kahit na sa pilitan na lang hehehe. Para at least we tried and there have been an EB and magakakaget to know each other na tayo diba. and maybe after the first eb magkaroon na ng mga succeeding EB's.

BTW may lagi akong nakikitang carens na nakapark along panay avenue malapit dun sa bagong bukas na nathaniels duon its a silver carens lx. and another one a red carens lx along greenhills. madalas ko makita tong dalawang unit na dun sa mga lugar na yun e. Who could they be.

sir hanren thanks for adding me to the list. you can get a pair of 6022i's between 3k-3.5k (depends on your haggling ) with installation na. i find these speakers ideal for oem replacements that have hu's with low to medium power outputs. the mid-high sound improvements were so good, i had to add a slim active sub underneath the front passenger seat to balance everything out. btw someone asked earlier how many carens could be running on the road by now. what i do know is that in cebu, more than 200 units were sold na. in fact, the provincial gov't recently ordered 21 units for their own use.

And I beleive that the airport taxis in bacolod uses carens for transport from airport to the city.
