* hinDMAXsiado - no prob. The colorado is one mean looking pick-up. Nice!
* Benzmizer - correct! YCC sir.
Just a tip chief Teekoy: Should you end up with the current Philippine-DMax Ddi-iTEQ series, make sure you DON'T TAKE "any leftover prior to the" Radikal or X-Max series DMax's, if there are still any on discounts or same price
Suction-valve pangkaraniwang SAKIT ng mga late 2007 to early 2010 (prior to the Radikal series) DMax Ddi-iTEQ models, at biglang low-power ang common complaints ng ibang DMax owners that got this model.... I own a 2008 model Ddi-iTEQ but lemme refrain from commenting chief![]()
Goodluck.
Sir Benz, nakapagdecide na ko on what tire size I would use next. Still 265/70R16 for my front wheels then 275/70R16 for the rear wheels. It will still fit padin daw the stock rims so ok lang daw. Sacrifice nalang talaga ko na side by side lang ako makapagrotate ng tires ko nun kasi my rear tires wont fit in front na unless maglift ako. But they would still try to look for 285/70R16 if may makuhanan sila. Everything will follow pero ung sa rims e it will still fit nga daw. Malapad na din tignan un e. But still hoping for the 285/70R16.hehe Gusto ko lang talaga staggered look ung dmax ko e,since la pa enough budget for rims.heheIm buying dunlop tires. Dun lang sila may ganun tire size e., Or may masuggest ka po any brand na much better than dunlop but d naman nagkakalayo sa price and quality?.. TIA!
Sir Benz, I will consider your inputs and suggestion ng tires. Atlis nagkaron ako ibang options to choose from. Thanks!![]()
Thank you for your comments. These are building blocks of my perception of you.....it is what you are in my view.
I wish to make a point that I did not buy the Alterra because it was the "best". "Best" is a purely objective point of view based on opinions.
My primary reason is that the Alterra, versus the much more popular Fortuner, is not a carnappers favorite target vehicle. There is not much demand for the entire (stolen) vehicle, nor parts thereof.
As a white foreigner in the Philippines, it is top concern for me.
My secondary reasons are that I prefer conventional body on frame versus unibody, rear wheel drive, and leaf rear suspension and torsion bar front set up, versus coils.....all debatable points, for sure.
I also enjoy the extra rear leg room and longer wheelbase of the Alterra, since I employ a driver for any trips over one hour or so and prefer to lounge in the very comfortable, reclining rear seat.
The Sante Fe, perhaps the most advanced alternative from an engineering standpoint, is a "crossover" and suffers from minor irritating problems which the workshops have trouble dealing with (electrical accessories, mainly, according to owners' surveys). Twice, when presented with demonstration units, there were accessories which did not work on a brand new car they were trying to sell me. The Hyundai casa also have customer vehicles which they hold waiting for a factory "expert" to diagnose on his next visit....not good!
Almost anybody can repair an Isuzu, but the engine compartment of a Santa Fe is like a jig-saw puzzle to the average Filipino (including mechanics). Perhaps I am wrong, but roadside emergency repairs to a Sante Fe would be impossible to obtain in the farm area where I live.
We live in a subdivision, but, my wife's relatives are farmers and we travel mostly on narrow farm roads with rice fields all around us (yes, we have 4WD).
Manila might be another matter, but Science City of Munoz, and San Jose in Nueva Ecija are the "big towns" near where I drive.
So, to sum up; Some people buy certain brands for other reasons than to get the "best".
The world rotates with compromises all around us.
It is a real pleasure to chat with you.
Ciao!
Uncle Nick.
Talk about hijacking a thread. Somehow, nasingit narin dito on how great the Sta. Fe/Hyundai/Kia is.![]()
Even way back in 2002, Isuzu Motors was already producing a 3-litre CRDi engine with variable-geometry turbocharger for European car companies Saab of Sweden, Opel of Germany and Renault of France....
....In fact, the Isuzu's 6DE1 diesel is the world's first closed-deck cylinder block made of diecast aluminum.
http://www.isuzu.co.jp/world/amuseme...02/diesel.html
Also, by now, Isuzu has exported over 21 million diesel engines to over 120 companies worldwide, with the plus 13 million delivered in 2003 alone!
Even at the present times, what Isuzu is giving us in the Philippines is nothing, compared for the most part, to its overseas market offers![]()
I'm almost due for my 5K PMS. Medyo namamahalan ako sa rates sa casa. Anyone know where I can buy my own engine oil, filters, etc para makabawas sa gastos tapos bigay ko nalang sakanila.
I also consider ung Pirelli, nagcanvass na ko kanina nun. Almost the same prices din sila.
Ako bro ung ginagawa ko e I still buy the filters sa casa. Then i use shell engine oil tapos sa trusted mechanic ko na pinapagawa. I always spent siguro for about 5k siguro. Kasi synthetic oil ginagamit ko. Pero lately lang tinawagan ako ng SA ko, they're offering me regular discounts on parts and labor for PMS.
