Sa bed cover, ang Carryboy product na na try ko was the roller lid and that will be the last time na bibili ako nun. Sa Mazda ko noon, I used a Pace Edward roll top.

I have the 2014 dmax. No regrets whatsoever. Came from a 2012 ranger and a 2011 strada. I both sold with less than 10k on the clock. Dami probs eh.

re sa thread ng 2014 Dmax wala kasi continued lang dito from the previews model. siguro kasi same engine din lang e. I got may 2014 dmax for 2months na. so far so good. although hindi ito kasing tulin ng Ranger pero mas kampante ako sa durability ng makina nito. sapat naman na ang power specially kung kelan mo kailangan, mahaba torque band nito kasi. sa ride naman naman comfortable ako, have driven it for straight 6hrs driving time hindi pagod pakiramdam ko sa destinasyon. mag 2mos pa lng dmax, mag 2nd pms na ako by next wk, 4.9k kms na kasi odo reading ko. fuel consumption avg 12.6kms per ltr, ayon sa MID sa dashboard.

Tisoy and Djerms.. This is the first car(4 wheel vehicle) that I will buy. Gusto ko naman they'll have a sturdy but confy ride pag isasama ko sila. I want a vehicle that can last 10 or more years.. na walang MAJOR problems. Yung Toyota naman mukng reliable naman as I also read their thread kaya lang for me parang medyo DATED naa yung model nila at ayoko ng hintayin yung upcoming model ng Hilux nila.

I'm planning to get the X Series.

    Thanks!

Sad to hear about sa nangyari sa Unit nyo but I'm glad na na-reresolved naman nila yung ganitong Issue.

Anyone here has a bad experience sa service nila? It's looking good so far, if not I'll go with Isuzu then..

    *jblue2000:

Depende yan on how you define a "major problem." Ung iba kasi a 20k peso repair is already a major problem.

With my 4JJ1, it's not perfect and may mga parts na din akong napapaplitan in my more than 6 yrs of ownership that I wasn't expecting of replacing early. Those were the water pump, timing gear/chain, tensioner, brake shoes (when it wasn't that old back then). Plus the check engine light that lit up on my dash.

For me I don't consider them major problems. Why? Kasi wala naman nangyari sa vehicle ko when they started to malfunction. Very functionable parin. Tulad nung water pump. They replaced that due to trial and error. May umiingay kasi sa engine bay and akala nila un, so they replaced it. Hindi naman pala. Eventually they found out it was the timing gear/chain.

As to parts, I just had an issue with my EGR. It was more of a bitter-sweet experience.

Other than that, wala pa naman akong bad experience with my dealer, Isuzu Commonwealth. Dati sa Q. Ave ako kaso ung waiting area nila doon ay parang prison so I never had my service from them for more than 4 yrs already.

For your reference, my truck is more than 6 yrs old already and has clocked more than 118k kms. Since very identical ang 4JJ1 & 4Jk1 engines, if I would base my answer if someone would ask me kung hindi ba sirain ang 4JJ1 engine and reliable ba, I would, without any hesitation say, "No, hindi siya siran and very reliable." Pero yan ay sa akin experience lang and I am not speaking for the majority. I would hope na ganyan din ang 4JK1.

What's the engine code of the 2.5 ltr dmax? Is't the same as the engine of the mu-x?

    * jblue- Ours is 7 years (if not almost 7 years), major repair was scv. Hahahah. Had a kalampag problem, thought it was the rear wheel bearing, changed it to a new one, but andun pa din, as it turned out it was just the stepboard bracket hitting the chassis when turning/flexing. Apart from that the usual change oil, fuel filter, air cleaner, fr/rr shock absorber, leaf spring bushing. Albeit rack end is soon to be replaced, plus all 5 tires.

In a nutshell, its heck of a reliable car for us ha, and maybe rna800 as well. Heheheh

Just a question pala, when buying a new car, regardless of brand, if on the scheduled day of pick up, you saw some flaws on the car, i.e. a dent, or paint fading, malalim na gasgas, broken interior trim etc, can you request for a new one, given they (dealership) have in stock of the same color/trim? Nag ka kwentuhan kasi kami yesterday, and napag usapan re buying a new car.

Btw, happy holidays pala mga boss!

*rna800 - What I would define as a major problems is yung i-stranded ka nga vehicle mo t hindi ka na makakauwi which is a MAJOR BUMMER for a new vehicle or a vehicle that you are owning for less than 5 years.. 100000++ with no major problem is a winner for me. At expected ito dapat sa pickup since pickup ito dapat +1 ito na mas reliable pa sa other vehicle like cars or minivans.. thanks for sharing sa mga naging issues mo at east kung mangyari sssakin yun maalala ko yung naikwento mo at hindi ako mag papanic mode haha.. Mukang sulit na yung pickup nyo since 100000+ na ang mileage.. kung baga sa college.. graduate na. at duon naman kayo sa 10 year reliability test..

*bugoy - Bakit po nakalampag, nalubak po ba kayo ng malakas?. kung ganun at least naman yung kalampag problem is an incident at hindi nangyari on it's own. Thanks din a advice for buying new cars. I'll be strict on that pag dumating yung unit na ibibigay saakin. Glad to know reliable ang D-Max at wala pa naman akong nakikitang usok sa discussion dito regarding it's reliability.

The dmax's comfort zone is really in uphill climbs. Lakas ng makina niyan down low revs.

Bro you might have read the manual wrong. Your first (all fluids except radiator and brake) is at 1500kms. Next is 5k and every thereafter.

*jblue: 20k kms OR 2 yrs, whichever comes first ang change oil and oil filter!?! I will never do that with mine. Even with FS oil, 8.5k kms ko nga pinapalitan, mineral every 5k. Kung hindi masyadong gamit, kahit 1x a yr manlang mapalitan.

*bugoys: Di Hilux naman para brother from another dealer ng Dmax mo.hehe

Ang alam ko yang rustproof is done before the vehicle is released. Baka undercoat ang iniisip mo kasi yan ung pinapa spray at an added cost.

If in a very impossible timing, that the new Hilux will be released mid of this month, at makaka test drive agad ng unit, baka mag Toyota kami. Kaso, mukhang malabo talaga, well malabo talaga! Hahahah.

Oh, that got me confuse re rustproof and undercoat. Yung black ba na iniispray sa chassis, wheel well, at suspension underpinnings, is the rustproof?

*jblue: 10k change oil interval is ok if you use a quality oil and quality oil filter. Pag OEM lang, it's up to you pero ako since OEM gamit ko, hanggang 8.5k kms lang. Meron Engine and Fuel System Talk/Mineral, semi synthetic or fully synthetic thread that you can read for more info on oil and oil filter.

Ito wala sa manual pero I have practiced changing my fuel filter every 10k kms knowing the fuel quality in our country even if I use Unioil.
