that's nearly 15km/L... not bad... well if you only run between 80-100kph

interestingly, our ride can do more than that at stock configuration - can reach 150kph easily, slowly it can still go up 160kph and very very slowly upto 165kph... on a downhill it can even do 172kph. but fuel efficiency will drop to 8ish to 11ish km/L.

Sir, at 2300 odo reading, do you think I could squeeze the maximum power of my truck or it's still early? I don't want to strain the engine yet coz I feel it's still in its break in period. I was forced to reached 120 since I need to overtake a long queue of trucks and buses in NLEX and I don't wanna hold the passing lane by traveling 100 only.

Sir, mine is 08 dmax and I only have 2 keys too. 1 key has a remote and the other is a spare key so I guess it's really like that.

I could only speak for roller top since that's what I have(I am not sure if this is the same as the roller up.) I have two pick up trucks and both of them have Pace Edwards roller top and Carryboy roller lid. Unfortunately, water could still penetrate in both of them so if you're looking for a water tight product, you shouldn't consider them. Good thing I put a spray-on bedliner and not just a bedliner so water couldn't penetrate even if the bed gets flooded. For the Pace Edwards roller top, it cost me 29k and for the Carryboy roller lid, it cost me 37k. It's more expensive since it's already motorized. They didn't have the manual top when I went there so I was forced to try that. I got both of them in Ride and Carryboy in Banawe. For durability, I could say that they are durable as long as you don't put heavy objects on top of them. My 1st Pace Edwards roller top took 3 yrs before it got broken (it got broken since kids made it as their playground and voila! all the steels supporting the bed snapped.hehe)

I haven't checked my tire pressure ever since it got out from the dealer. I guess it's around 30 to 35.

rna8000, i don't really know... as far as i know, na break-in na kasi sa planta ang mga engine natin.

when i got my ride kasi lagpas na ng break-in (it was driven by our lady vet tech)... so since hindi sanay sa hataw yung sasakyan (while it was stationed in CEBU)... i gave it some good "pushing"... dati hangang 3500rpm lang ako.... now, it does nearly 4000rpm pero it is now 114,000km na ... I should be reaching 115,000km by saturday.

That's what my agent also told me when I brought it for the first time in our province since I asked what's the max speed for break-in and he said that they have already done the break-in while it was still in their plant. But he said, as much as possible, drive up to 100kph only and don't stay in that speed for a long period of time. Good thing at 120kph, the tachometer doesn't reach 3k so I hope it's ok. Maybe when we go out of town again, I might give the engine a very, very good exercise.hehe

Wow, 115k kms!?! What problems have you faced with your max so far? I have a neighbor who owns a 2005 max. She is so proud with her truck and she said it hasn't given her any major headaches yet. Her family always brings it all the way up north to Isabela and all the way down south to Mindanao. It made me think what's the odo reading in her rig. It also put a smile on my face coz it gave me the impression that it's indeed a true workhorse.

rasta, its better meron ka spray on bedliner plus the plastic on top kc the cabliner wont get rusted that easily kahit hinid mo linisin or i.check, kung meron ka ikarga sa likod, the cabliner wont get dmaged or dented, just the plasctic liner lang ang madmage, which is more cheaper and better kesa mag weld or body work sa cabliner kung madented.. and thats the cause or start ng rust... iv used my pikc up loading up reallty heavy stuuf like oil barrel, which weighs about 100kgs or more... and it gets dropped sometimes on teh bedliner but wala naman sira sa cabliner, no dents or damage... so for me, much better kung meron spray on bedliner plus the plastci bedliner on top...

Congrats to the new owners! Yung tungkol sa remote/keyless entry keychain na isa lang, I think that they provide 2 of those for the 4x4 variants of the LS. Isa lang for the 4x2 variant.

This is what my dealer told me when I got my unit 2 years ago.

Yup, it's quite intimidating at first, especially coming from a sedan, to drive a truck. Everything is different from it's height to it's ride. But give it 2 weeks and you'll feel that you're getting the hang of it and you'll soon prefer to drive it than a sedan.

For your query on the spray on bedliner, I haven't tried the plastic bedliner yet so I don't know how durable it is. All I know is based from my friends, they didn't recommend that to me. They told me that in time, water might penetrate in it and it will cause the bed to rust. I have always used spray on bedliner on my trucks and I could say that they are really durable. They might be more expensive, but it's worth it. Added to that, though I already have a spray on bedliner, I still put the rubberized padding (I don't know how to call it but in Banawe, I see men carrying those in rolls and they cost 450.) I put that for added protection so that when I put a thing that has sharp edge, it wouldn't scrape the liner.

Sir, could you please observe your rig if this also happens to you. Before at around 1300-1600 kms in my odometer, I noticed that my truck makes this sound from the engine. A quick but weird sound that has an echo. It sounds like this kkkrrrrrrrraaaaaaarrrrrrrrr (I'm sorry for the sound effects.hehe) I don't know how to mimic it but it's like that. Usually it's duration is about 2 seconds but the echo elongates it. I tried to have it checked in my dealer, but I don't know how to explain it and I don't have any idea where it's coming from and when it will make that sound. I went to Vigan last weekend and traveled like 900+ kms but it didn't sound and today while parking it, it made that sound(my odo reading now is almost 2300.) It's so odd. If this happens to you, could you please let me know. Thanks!

Sir, that happened in my Honda. The first time the check engine light lighted, I really didn't pay attention to it until such time I noticed that the handling of my car is becoming jerky to the point that it's so unforgiving. It feels like someone's kicking you from the back of your seat when it jerks. I brought it to the dealer and for the love of God, they said they saw a kitten!hahaha The weird thing is we don't have a cats. They thought that was the reason but they reset the computer and everything went perfect again. After 2 days, it lighted and I am back to square one. I brought it back to the dealer again and it stayed there for almost a week since they said that the problem is the RACV(I forgot what it meant but it's something about a valve) and they have to order it from their plant. From that point, it didn't light again.

Yes sir, the engine will not die but you'll feel that it loses power and as with me, my car jerks wildly. Try finding another dealership and have it checked coz for sure, that will get worst. I just based it from my experience.

Thanks for the invitation, sir. Hopefully I am free on that day since I am so interested to see what's in it for Isuzu. Sir, what time will it start and does it have an entrance fee? Is there any requirement? Thanks!

Hopefully sir, we could become as active like the other forums so that those people who are still wishy washy when it comes to what pick up to choose will opt to get the dmax and experience how great this truck is.

For the key with remote, I am not sure with the 4x4 variant if they give more but even in the handbook, it says 2 keys only.

I think the sound came from the engaging ABS. i think. . do you feel the brake vibrating in your foot while you're stepping on it??

Usually sir, it happens at low speeds like while parking the car, coming from a speed bump or while running around 20 to 30 kph while stepping on the gas pedal. It's so loud but only happens once in a day. The thing is I couldn't predict when it will sound. Like today, it sounded when I already reached home and parking the car and to think last weekend it traveled more than 900 kms but it didn't even sound at least once.
