    Thanks for the quick response.

Another thing, my car's battery (newly replaced) discharges, to the point that it can no longer crank the engine, when it is not used for like two to three days. I suspect there's short somewhere but I do not know where to look (daming wires!) Any ideas? Suggestions?

What I usually do now is disconnect the negative terminals whenever I won't use it for a few days (well I'm away like weeks at a time). It sucks because when I, or my father, wants to use the car, I/he has to connect the battery first. It is not really a big deal (connecting the battery) because I usually open the hood before I start the car anyway but what if there's an emergency?

Ganyan din problem ko before nadischarge ang battery ko to the point na I disconnect the negative terminal everytime na pinapatay ko makina. Ilan months korin ginawa yan. Alam mo ba ang culprit ay alternator make it upgrade it to 80amps yung bighorn ko kasi 50 amps at saka may problem na ang alternator mo pacheck mo sa shop.

Thanks for the advice. I think the alternator was already replaced about a year ago. Anyway, I'll have it checked to make sure. Can anyone suggest a good shop in the Fairview area who could do the alternator?

Another question, Is it normal to get an electric arc (rather small, but you can definiltely hear and see a small electric arc from) when connecting the ground cable to the negative battery terminal? Mine does, I wonder why?

Clock! Walang off switch. Radio also has direct line to the bat for its clock and memory.

Hmm the clock indeed never goes off even if I remove the key. have to try the radio also. But is it enough to drain the battery in two to three days?

They cause the arching but i dont think the battery drain.
Try to recall everything unusual before the draining occured. Installation of electricals or electronics, busted fuse or a flood perhaps. Any warning lights on your dash? If you have VOM check your voltage before and after you have started. 12volts and 13.5+ respectively shoud be the reading.

Have not installed anything yet since I got the car. It was ok before because I (or my Dad) use it every day but then we started experiencing drained battery after 2-3 days of not being used. The alternator (surplus din?) has been replaced, so is the battery (bnew motolite).

When I bought the battery, the shop checked the charging and the shop said ok. Initially, after starting, and a few minutes thereafter, the voltmeter on the dash reads below 12 volts but goes up to 13+ maybe after a few more minutes (while cruising na). Oh, at night, with the aircon and headlights on, the in-dash voltmeter reads at or below 12volts. And when the turn signals are activated (everytime kahit wala ibang accessories na naka on), the voltage reading fluctuates (as in pumapalo kasabay nung signal lights).

    Alternator problem? Voltage regulator? Help!

Pag local trooper positive yan na T gear, sa ingay ng kalansing malayo pa alam mo na na gear. 99 model ang last time they used a conventional diesel to a dual trooper by 2000-01 4JX1 na engine but still with dual. After this year 4jX1 na rear wheel drive na lang until the retirement UBS model.

ayaw mong try(or pagisipan) nating gawing frankenstein engine. i.e. retain your 4jx1 block but conventional fuel system(non crdi like the 4jg2). mukhang me sentimental value na truper mo sayo.

btw, musta na cylinder head mo? pwede pa ba?

niwds, unrepairable naraw. so our 4jx1 would be a scrap

pinag iisipan nalang namin ni erpats kung tuned 4jg2 ( bi turbo, devils own, unichip day dreaming hahaha) or 4jb1 na turbo.

    need your inputs. .

ask ko yung friend kong"katok yung block" yung 4jg2 nyang luma. baka pwede pa yung cylinder head nya. palagay ko pwede transplant yan since all 4j** share the same engine block. medyo chipipay yung iniisip kong solusyon ha. saka di pa sure although me punto naman. aya mo si ramon ng isang eb. punta kami ng friend ko. ganda project yan.:D
sayang plano pa naman namin is to use your DOHC cylinder block. para almost same power as the old one
