Ah. Okay... we prefer leather to cloth, anyway, so we won't be buying the seatcovers... on the other hand, constant use has worn down the leather on the Crosswind... so maybe just a driver's seat one...

Sige, will do so... don't really know what else to do to it, yet... besides the speakers. But I may be giving Speedlab or Pacho a call to see what their tuning can do for me... :naughty2:

How evil... it's not even my personal ride... hehe... I also want to get a look underneath and see if there are some invisible "tweaks" I can do to the exhaust for more laminar flow (not an aftermarket muffler, but I want to see how well-made the bends are underneath the vehicle and remove any kinks that are there...), as well as what options there are for improving intercooler and intake flow.

    Don't worry... I'll share.

thanks, will give them a call later.

btw, the dealers i've talked to said that the 4x4 crdi model have a 2 month waiting period. which is faster? 4x2 vs 4x4 crdi? logic dictates that the 4x2 will have an edge coz of its lighter weight...

    Hyundai C5 (Pasig)

    tel 672-3801 to 04

its along E Rodriguez Jr in libis (going to Bicutan its on your right, take the service road before reaching the flyover)

The sales rep said the owner has a unit(4x2 crdi) for test drive, but she also complained that some people would just test-drive their unit and then go on and purchase from another dealer.

According to her, They stick religiously to the one price policy of HARI.

    Thanks for your PM

Thanks ladies and gents for the quick responses, I went to 3 Hyundai dealerships today (Fort, Edsa(guadalupe) and Pasig) all 3 dealers quoted 1.528m with no discount.

Fort Bonifacio - have unit for demo and like sir lui, willing to bring the unit to my office for me to check out. ms. sales rep1 is knowledgeble and charming. I would have to say this have been a good experience for me.

one thing she said got me curious - "that V6 gas model is faster than the crdi model." i always thought that the diesel engine is faster (better torque). I rarely go out of town, but i drive fast and mean in the urban jungle that is Metro manila. Which is better for me? V6 gas or CRDi?

Edsa - Pretty sales rep2 gave me brochure/price list. got my number, make me sign her logbook. said she'd call me. that's about it.

Pasig - ms sales rep3 is ok in terms of product knowledge, their boss also have an unit for test drive so scheduling is no problem. She got a bit paranoid when i ask for a discount. It would've been strange for me not to ask for a discount!! Money don't exactly grow on trees, a peso save is a peso earned.(you'd get the picture) she confided that somebody already got suspended for disobeying the one price policy etc etc. she just started a month or two ago. In the end, i felt sorry for her and just told her not to worry about it coz she didn't even gave me any discount.

OT - The galant is now selling for 1.25M from 1.5M, was really tempted by such a good price. is that a good buy?

*kpy555 - Thanks for the offer for me to test drive your unit during eb. mighty generous of you.

*praetorian - you're right. Hyundai Fort personnel are really very accomodating.

*Iglock - glad to hear that you chose SF over the Camry. funny thing, on my way home, i decided to stop by an mitsu dealer. wanted to check out the outlander, the mitsu guy steered me toward the galant (SRP 1.25M i/o the usual 1.5M). that's 250k off from the SF. its very tempting, isn't it?

*Lui - Will give you a call tomorrow. thanks

*Niky - you're right about the differences among dealers. i forgot the cardinal rule of purchasing, "always have the option to chose between vanilla & chocolate, if the purchase involved 1 million or more, its best to have strawberry too" thanks

*yuichi - i'm really leaning towards a torquier model, guess that 4x2 crdi for me.

CRDi makes more lowdown torque but for all out speed, the V6 is faster (0-60mph, quarter mile, etc.). But the CRDi motor is no slouch.

The Galant ain't bad especially if they're on sale. Not as versatile as an SF, though.

The only additional oil for the 4x4 would be for the rear diff. It uses the same oil as the front diff and around the same amount. You also replace it as the same intervals as the front diff.

V6 is fast alright. fast in emptying your wallets we have a V6 4x4 Explorer, important functions lang kung gamitin, lakas sa gas.

my advice get the diesel. both city and out of town, the cost benefits outweigh the more responsive gasoline engine.

Had mine installed at Stage1 along araneta avenue, but also available at BigBerts. Brand is VTX performance, cost 10k but with 2 years warranty, Color temp available are from 3000k to 12000k. 3000k-6000k is I think the best to use for more candle power. Hope this helps.

thanks i was leaning towards the 4x2 crdi already. my 3.0 fort is really fast whenever i pushed it. only problem is its big size making driving in tight streets difficult. and of course the bumpiness of the 2nd and 3rd row is also a negative aspect.

It's nearly the same length, and only a tiny bit wider. Actually, the Fortuner itself isn't that wide, it's just the fender flares and wide wheelbase make it hard to place, as you can't judge the edges of the vehicle from the cockpit.

you will still have the same problem with the Sta fe regarding tight streets. this car feels wide to drive.

I had the same concern about width before when my SF was new. But now 2 months later, I come to realize I should never squeeze thru tights spots as before.
