Sa Hyundai Alabang ko pinakabit while installing the reverse sensor.

What oil do you use for your SF. a Friend told me to use Delo Gold lang daw, since I do regular 5k cahnge oil. Its better to have a regular change oil than use a more expensive oil at a longer intervals. So what do you think.

I'm using Mobil 1 Multi-Grade, 5 Liters and less than 1K lang sa True Value.

I had my 5k km check-up and change oil, I used Castrol CRB turbo. Cant tell the difference yet. Also had Factory Mudguards installed. Cost P2500 at macapagal ave. Im now better protected againts splashes, looks better too.

After reading all the praises abt the SF, i went to hyundai e-rod to check it out, salesman there said that the SF have better ride than the Fortuner (which is my present ride), after his sales pitch, i ask for a test drive, and lo behold, he said they do not have any unit for test drive. the only test drive i can do with brand new units, i can only drive it within their building and will not be allow to get out on the street. i ask how am i going to experience the better ride quality without getting out on the street. he said its company policy that no units be allow on the street. i just said thanks and left the premises. my enthusiasm dampened...
After this incident, I felt that the general level of professionalism of hyundai salespeople may not be as high as toyota or honda. the abovementioned incident will never have happened in a toyota or honda showroom. People would want to test-drive a car before they buy(especially a 1.5m car).

BTW, I'm really interested to get a SF. Pls tell me where i can get a testdrive. So far the prices i got are the ff: (CRDI 4X2 SRP 1.528M)

dealer A - 40k discount, free 3m tint, matting, seatcover (not really sure about this. sounds too good to be true...)
dealer B - 10k discount, same free item as above
dealer C - No disc, same free item.

Can anyone recommend a good dealer or salesperson who can give me a good deal? And a test drive...

thanks, will give them a call later.

btw, the dealers i've talked to said that the 4x4 crdi model have a 2 month waiting period. which is faster? 4x2 vs 4x4 crdi? logic dictates that the 4x2 will have an edge coz of its lighter weight...

For me it was the reverse... i was able to test drive a SF although the dealer had to schedule it but I did not mind... as for Toyota I have been asking for a test drive of the Fortuner for 6 months already and nobody wants to give me a test drive...

Coolman, as far as I know, Hyundai has an SF allocated for test drive purposes. You just need to schedule a test drive.

Or if there's a SF EB, I believe there will be SF owners who are willing to let you test drive their units, including me!

Anyway, I also own a Fortuner and by all means, the ride of the SF is SOFTER and MORE REFINED than the Fortuner. But for me, the Fortuner is more rigid.

Go for the SF, you won't regret it. For mostly-city driving, the 4x2 CRDi will do.

first time to hear that a Hyundai dealer has no testdrive unit for SF.
without center diff, 4x2 should be lighter and faster.

Hyundai the Fort sales people were very enthusiastic about people testing their cars, be it Getz, Tucson or SF. Of course, since a lot of people wanted to test drive the SF, you had to schedule one. Toyota, at the height of the Fortuner craze, wouldn't even allow you to drive a Fortuner around their sales lot!

I guess it depends... the test-units rotate.

I was only able to get a test-drive because the owner of the local dealership owns one and uses it as a test-drive unit. Doubly-nice, as his unit is over 17,000 kms old, and you can check for long-term wear.

Don't expect all Hyundai dealerships to be the same... it's just like with any other... there are some good ones, some bad ones and some that don't get love (or test units). HARI, logically, will send test units to dealers with more inquiries and sales.

Good news for us? The long financing discussions are almost over! SF, here we come!

niky, when you buy, forget the seat cover, just have it replaced with original Mudguards esp for the rear.

coolman, text mo na lang si lui (of Hyundai Abad Santos) * 09225081220 para mapa-sked ang long test drive for you. isa lang yata ang *official* test drive & press unit ng HARI for the SF (yung Superior Red).

How bad are the seatcovers? Synthetic ba? So far, the only accessories we're thinking about is better rear speakers (the stock ones kind of suck) and maybe mags and tires, if the budget permits.

I test drove 3x (Hyundai Fort, Libis, and Quezon Ave.) before I was convinced to get the SF. I was contemplating on a Camry 3.5 but no demo unit for a test drive was available from 3 Toyota dealers that I visited. The Sales Agents were so so in terms of product knowledge (rookies I guess) & accomodating but could not arrange a test drive. Decided to go SF instead... so far, I could not imagine anything better at this price range. I got a 4x4 CRDI.

Sent you PM for recommended dealers/SAs.

Niky, just recently, we removed the cloth covers, sayang pala yung leather (since from factory, fully leather-ed na ang interior ng SF including the steering wheel and shift stick). Mas masarap umupo sa leather. We just threw away the cloth covers in the garbage bin. The mudguards is about 3k for both front and rear if you buy them so hingiin mo na lang. hehe

Why would you want to cover that nice leather? They are very comfortable. If you can get the mud guards for free get them. I had mine installed just recently at Hyndai Manila Bay. They cost 2500 for the set. Plus 300+ for the labor. I agree with you with rear speakers, but the front ones are Ok, since I do most of the driving Im quite satisfied. if you do change the speakers, share naman the inputs. Hope you get your unit soon. You will definitely enjoy the ride. Hey Its better than my bimmer!
