I have to say I really like the looks of this new Accent. However nung makita ko tong thread na to medyo nagkakaroon ako ng konting hesitation and napapaisip ako na kumuha na lang ng mas medyong matagal na na car brand and make. For a first time car owner who doesn't know much about cars, would you still recommend the accent?

Every car buyer wants a perfect car. You can't blame them kahit minsan, parang napansin mo na na naging very perfectionist na sila based on what they expect for the car to be.

Nobody is spared from these type of problems. Ang problema is how the dealer addresses the issues. Toyota -> D4D Issues (My dad suffer countless hours with this issue on his fortuner), Mazda 2 -> Suspension Issue, Ford Focus -> Unexplained Windshield Cracks, 2nd Gen Jazz & 3rd Gen City -> Rocker Arm/Valve Spring Issue and so much more.

Rather take it into a positive way. Talks to SAs, or even showroom managers, talk to car owners, read specific reviews about the car you want, test drive it & figure out what is true and what is not based on the facts presented in this forum.

And lastly, evaluate your preferences vs. your budget. Get the car that you think the best your money can buy. Remember that buying a car is a long term investment. You don't want to have second thoughts after that car is delivered to your garage...

    Just my 2 cents though...

Do some more back reading Sir, not only in this thread but also to the other threads comparing car model and brands. Just be patient and surely, you will end up getting the car that will really satisfy you. Just my 2 cents.

Check if my punit naba yong blade. Or baka marumi lang... Problema rin sa wiper ng accent, you have that "kruuugggggggggggggg" sound, when it is in use for a longer period... I don't know if its because of the rubber compound of the stock one.

If you want a good one, try using NWB Banana type wiper blades. 650mm on the drivers side, 400mm on the passenger side.

I think 1.4k for the driver's side, 800php for the passenger...

While idling in traffic a while ago, bumabagsak bagsak yung idle speed ko. Parang mamamatay yung makina. First time nangyari ito. Wonder what could have caused this.

just an opinion sir, but I'd rather stay away from buffing or polishing my windshield... I did try it once on my old car, and the result was very disappointing. the windshield got a very visible swirl marks. I don't know if there is something wrong with the polishing process of the detailing shop that I went to.

This is the NWB aero type wiper.

Toyota Camry, Altis, Alphard, etc. Lexus vehicles..

BTW, 1,700 lang ang pair nyan kay MASPRO.

    Wow, 1.7k lang pala diyan..

Yong nabili ko, aabot yata ng 2.3K. NWB Aero type din. Yong 650mm (Driver's Side) is around 1.4k, and the 400mm (passenger side) is around 800+php.

Got mine at True Value, Ayala Cebu...

Im just giving my opinion chief SG & i didnt say i have a perfect car (di ko nga sinabi na vios ang ride ko at vios din ang dapat bilin) for a first time owner just like me before there are many things to consider like durability & our budget before buying one kaya nga brand new ang binili namin para di na masyado mamroblema sa maintenance sa maaring lumabas sa mga 2nd hand cars & being an OFW ayaw ko na maubos ang bakasyon ko sa pagpapagawa ng 2nd hand car lalo na madaming "ondoy cars". Honestly i became an instant fan of the new accent nung lumabas na sya sa market because of its very aggresive looks thats why i always read all the threads here reg. the new accent para mas madami pa ko malaman just bec. me mga ka officemate din ako na gusto bumili ng car & asking for my opinion reg. new cars in the phils. coz they know i bought one & one of my recommendation before is the accent bec. its much cheaper than the vios, the aggresive looks & has good fuel consumption. But when all the issues & problems of the new accent arise & comparing all this issues from the vios na di ko naexperience, dun ko na sure ang sarili ko na i made a good decision of buying a vios & tell my officemates about the pros & many cons of the new accent bec. of this thread . As ive said sir SG di ko sinsabi na perfect ang vios i only said that keep his options open to other cars na meron magandang feedbacks that worth the value of his hard earned money.. I hope i made myself clear about this issue.. peace out..

    Parang nanakot pa.

Ako nga OFW din, pero Accent pinili ko since as for me bang for the buck itong Accent. Mine a 1.4MT, ang daming features na wala sa ibang cars (sa looks lang ), adding to that the price difference pa.

Initially I was concerned na baka maging problema yung knocking sound (main issue), pero after heeding the advise on to use the recommended fuels, up until now I never had issues similar to the knocking sound.

As said by Sir Meikey all cars have their own issues, kahit pa mga SUV or high end cars, at walang perfect na car diba Brad SG?.

Very tempting daw ang price, features at looks e...

Ang problema lang nila ngayon, out of stock ang Accent...

I tried switching to petron xcs after numerous fillups with petron unleaded, sadly meron parin knocking sound. Nag fillup kasi ako na meron pang 2 bars remaining, baka siguro ang nasisipsip pa niya yung unleaded fuel?
