Stock to stock, there's already a noticeable torque difference between the K20 and R18. However, the K20 has much better tuning potential compared to the R18.

Engine mods are abundant, it's the availability of 2.0 MT FDs that's hard. Usually around 400-500k for a decent unit, compared to just 300-350 for the 1.8.

Thanks for the feedback sir jut. 400-500k for a 2006 car is too much imo. I could get an FB body for that amount already [emoji848]. Btw since you also own an 11th altis, how would you compare its body and handling? Much thanks!

sorry hindi waze ang tinutukoy ko na app (although it's a big help to find routes w/c are relatively lighter in traffic volume). iyong tinutukoy ko na app iyong fuelio ( & other similar apps) pala. at least ma-monitor mo consistently ang konsumo ng fd niyo.

sa full tank to full tank method hindi naman kailangan sagad ma-empty. pag tapak ng 1/4 or less pwede na pa-fill-up muli. basta be sure parati iyong automatic sensor sa pump nila ang mag-indicate na full na iyong tanke at wag na padagdag o i-todo puno ng gasboy para mas accurate ang reading ng fuel consumption mo

The FB doesn't handle as well as the FD. Throttle is also less responsive. They basically made the FB an Altis.

Meanwhile, the 11th gen is a huge improvement from the 10th gen in terms of handling (I own both). The 11th is more planted around corners, and the 6-speed manual is very well-matched to the Dual VVTi engine.

It's still not as fast as the FD, but it's good enough to be useful on track vs other econoboxes:

For less than the price of a Civic FD R18 MT, you can get a 2007-2008 Focus TDCi MT. The Focus has one solid chassis and, the 2.0L turbo diesel offers an ample amount of torque and a lot of tuning potential.

There was some discussion long way before on comparison of the Civic FD versus the Focus TDCi.

Thanks sir jut. Unfortunately, my 11th is a V unit. The CVT doesn't have the "feeling" to it and i want to get a manual for a project car. Haven't tried to track my altis yet but I'll soon do. I guess i have to expand my options to impreza 3rd gen manuals too since the K20 manual fds are very rare to come by. What do you think about those? Since it costs 350-450 and not as hard to find as manual k20s. Thank you again!

The 1.6 CVT is ho-hum, saps too much power from the engine. The 1.8 Civic CVT is better, automatic vs automatic.

Haven't seen anyone use a non-WRX Impreza on the track. For sure parts are hard to come by. If you want a dedicated track car, EG/EK Civics are still the most ideal even if they're old and expensive, simply because of parts/upgrades availability.

Ok lang yan. Yan namang viscousity ang kinakarga ng mga casa maintained honda nowadays although Medyo manipis for me. But that'll basically do.

to be or not to be, that always confuses me!

Appreciate if anyone can refer autoshops in Paranaque that can properly service FDs. I normally do it in the casa but its really not worth it anymore given that my car is 11years old already.
Ideally Sucat or Bicutan area. Thanks

I can vouch for Danny of D & R Fast Auto shop. Our old Hondas are brought there for servicing.

I see a lot of cars being serviced in Pitworkz Hongly but the crowd there is my type. Dami mga fanboys doon.

Small correction... what I meant was "the crowd there is not my type". Hehehe

Honda Civic FD Body [continued]
