I had a few fixes done there. "Ok-ok lang" is what I would say.. Humming usually due to worn wheel bearings (if tires are still up to spec) and "kabig" either from simple wheel alignment or suspension component/s damage (again - kung maayos pa tires).
Hi, need some help.
I need to top up my coolant, the level is way below MIN. Manual says I need type 2 coolant (blue). I went to ace hardware and they have the Prestone ready to use coolant (green) that claims compatible to all cars. Is that true? What alternative brands I can buy and where?
I did my research and bump into words like OAT and MEG. I give up.
Thanks!

I top up w/ distilled water lang din
Kaya nag complain ako sa website ng honda ph about the non-availability of the type 2 coolant mung 1 araw lang.

you can also drain the whole cooling system and change to the green stuff...

Personally, I think it's safer to use Honda Type 1 and just follow a more frequent coolant change interval.
I also don't understand why Honda PH wouldn't or couldn't import the right stuff. When I still had my FD, I also had to resort to sourcing out a couple of Type 2 jugs from another forum member.

Minerva's Pirelli and SNR's Continental tires are priced almost the same because SNR has 3+1 promo for their Continental tires. The problem with SNR is they do not have alignment. To save myslef from hassle, I chose Minerva.
Hi, Thanks for the tips. I bought Type 1 coolant from Honda Cars Alabang branch for 275php for 1 liter. Used it to top up.
They do not and will not carry Type 2 Antifreeze because Type 2 is for region with very cold climate, winter to negative temperatures, as explained to me by their staff. Type 1 is good enough for our climate here in the PH and is compatible with Honda's engine and Type 2.
When the time I need to flush arrives, I will probably use Type 1 coolant even since it is more on the "safe" side and I would have to do it very rarely even though Prestone is 100 less cheaper, I don't mind spending a few bucks. Cheers~
That is BS. Type II is the only coolant recommended for our FDs. Once you put in the green Type I coolant, be prepared to experience over heating due to water pump and gasket failure. Type II coolant can be used anywhere in the world, it is just a matter of using the right proportion of Type II coolant and water in your rad. They do not and will not carry Type 2 Antifreeze because Type 2 is for region with very cold climate, winter to negative temperatures, as explained to me by their staff. I was told by my dealer that they occasionally carry Type II coolant in limited amounts. But they are selling it at P750+ per liter each.Check again with your respective dealers at baka meron na rin sila.
By the way, I still have the original factory Type II coolant in my 10-year old FD. I haven't changed it and some have leaked out when the auxiliary fan was changed. I just top off with distilled water every now and then. To date, I have had no radiator, water pump or coolant leak problems. Temperature always stays at 1 bar below half.

Dapat ang tinanong mo bakit world wide phased out na ang type 1 coolant at honda ph na lang ata ang nagbebenta niyan. Even our neighboring south east asian countries have essentially stopped selling type 1 coolants since the last decade. Wag masyado magpapaniwala sa casa bro
Personally i'm planning to buy online from malaysia na lang if i can't find resellers here anymore or hindi makatsamba sa casa. Pero at P750 a pop? That's highway robbery considering i remember i got a whole jug bought and brought from the usa for only 2k or 2.5k only and it was hand delivered to me pa [emoji38]
Pero Sabi mo nga, like you, I'd rather spend a few more bucks than compromise my car's cooling system
when you look into the abyss, the abyss looks into you
guys just like to share this...
on our 2010 civic, a noise/whining is heard whenever the steering wheel is turned to the left or right.
had checked the PSF tank and noted that level is lower against the normal low level indicator and the color is somewhat blackish (concluded that it needs to have a PSF change)
went to casa to buy a liter of PSF, however SA is insisting that over the counter purchase is not allowed and they should do the PSF change-out (company policy daw)
WTF... i pushed back and told him that my car is already out-of-warranty and i will do whatever i want with my car. politely asked if i can talk to his boss, but he did talk with his boss on my behalf instead (case won)
habang hinihintay ko yung PSF, nakipag-OC ako sa ginagawa ni casa foreman kasi alam kong buong PS system (R&P and pump overhauling)ang ginagawa nya. isiningit ko sa aking pagtatanong kung paano ang casa procedure for PSF change and he happily obliged to answer all my queries.
the annoying noise/whining is gone after my DIY PSF change.
From what I've read, sakit ng FD yung leaky power steering pump. I had an '09 1.8S whose PSP whines loudly pag mababa na yung fluid level. Filling it up takes care of the whine. The permanent solution of course is to replace the power steering pump. Yun nga lang mga Php 30T+ sa casa. I did talk to a 3rd party mechanic who said he can repair/reuse the pump but I sold the car before I got around to having it fixed.
for your power steering problems, bring your ride to benmawi motors in binan, laguna. that's the go-to-shop of team fd peeps when they need to have their power steering systems fixed
Kaya after warranty eh lumayas na kayo jan.....
That was early 2000.

And i usually skip the 40,000kms. Sa labas na ginagawa.
